I only deal with these issues every once in a while, so I’m trying to wrap my head around some of the specifics.
Can you walk me through that whole thing about peanuts and red wine?
I tend to snack on about an ounce of peanuts most days. I haven't heard anyone suggest they're bad for this...
Then there's the advice to have a little red wine every day to help with various health issues.
I usually have somewhere between an ounce and two and a half ounces daily.
So, we're talking less than a standard shot.
Also, regarding that Hemophilin ointment—is that something you just pick up at a CVS, or do you have to find a herbalist or something?

Man, it really hurts...
It’s funny how it works, though—sometimes I have to deal with some seriously messed up digestion before things finally start moving again, which is just great, isn't it? Just my luck, I guess...
I honestly just want to lie in a hot bathtub for hours, but then I start wondering if that’s actually a smart move. Still, it feels amazing, probably better than anything else right now...

😠 Red wine is packed with tannins—just like dark berries or certain veggies—which can basically make those veins in the hemorrhoidal plexus stiffen up and become prone to bursting. Once they get inflamed, you’re looking at what doctors call florid hemorrhoids: swollen, painful, protruding, and sometimes even getting thrombosed. 😈
Then there's peanuts. They don't always digest perfectly, leaving little bits behind in your stool 😬 which, man, if those bits scratch against those swollen lumps... let's just say it's a total nightmare. 😠
In my opinion, peanuts and other seeds are generally fine because they add some bulk to your movements, provided you chew them really, really well... though I wouldn't touch them if you're currently in the middle of an acute flare-up.

As for relief, you can pick up some Hemophilin ointment at any local CVS or Walgreens; it usually runs you about $30-$13...

Thanks, Susan Martin24!
I think I’m starting to wrap my head around this.
But I’m still leaning toward what seems most practical—having a little glass of wine now and then. People swear by its health benefits, right? Or, I could just skip the alcohol entirely to avoid any issues with H. pylori... but then I'd just be trading one set of problems for another. What do you guys think?

Sex actually helps out because it gets the blood flowing down there 😁

but I'm not talking about the usual stuff 😉

I’m totally for real, I am being dead serious here

brisknomad6, I’ve seriously been wondering—how on earth do you manage to get anything thicker than a toothpick in there without the owner's eyes popping out of their head or them ending up swinging from the ceiling fan? 😈

Eeee... but honestly, if you're looking at this as preventative maintenance while everything is still working perfectly fine... it actually helps. :v A little exercise works wonders; it really boosts that elasticity, wooow... 🙂

I’ve been sitting here wondering if anyone else has actually gone through the whole ordeal of getting hemorrhoid surgery—you know, the actual procedure to get them removed—and what the deal really is? Like, I need the real story, because does it actually hurt as much as people say it does, and how long am I going to be sidelined while I recover? What is life even like once you're on the other side of it?

I’ve heard that actually triggers hemorrhoids—since those are just cushions that prolapse. Wild sex can tear the elastic tissue that holds them in place, and then they’re stuck hanging out forever. Apparently, that’s what they say in a small town too, so... hey, do what you want. I bet 🙂 Susan Martin24 knows better than anyone, given her history with abs. This guy who mentioned it is an abdominal surgeon, though we couldn't tell if he was being serious or just messing with us.

kemik, please write hemorrhoids instead of hemoroids. That's how you spell it.

Help me out, people
I woke up this morning to find my partner dealing with a massive case of hemorrhoids. I have absolutely no idea what he was doing last night to trigger this, but let me tell you, what I saw was nothing short of a nightmare! The bleeding is intense, the appearance is even worse, and he says the pain is just unbearable. He can’t even sit down or walk properly.
We picked up some over-the-counter ointment, but I really want to know how I can help ease that agonizing pain he’s going to feel when he actually has to go to the bathroom.
What should he be eating? What kind of meals should I whip up or pick up? I’m completely lost here...
Please help if God knows how!
The last time we had a crisis like this, I actually had to call a contractor because he ended up knocking a square foot of tiles loose while sitting on the toilet.
It breaks my heart to see my sweet man suffering like this, especially when I feel so clueless about what to do...

My partner went through the exact same thing just a month or so ago—he was practically in tears from severe hemorrhoids. I ended up using a warm compress and some Voltaren for him. It might not be the "official" medical protocol, but hey, it worked... and that's what matters.🙂

Honestly, hemorrhoids are just the worst. I started dealing with them right before my period every month—thankfully they aren't as painful as the first time they flared up, though. I actually cried for four days straight because the pain was just unbearable. I tried using some Preparation H cream, but it didn't do much at all. The hardest part is definitely having to go to the bathroom—you're literally tearing up. You just have to be careful about how you sit and watch your diet, and hopefully, things will improve.🙂

P.S. I was honestly cracking up reading that the OP tried to use a razor to "fix" things... I can't decide if that's hilarious or just plain reckless!🤣 please don't ever do that again, EVER

so,
I'm one of those people who finally decided enough was enough.
At least when it comes to hemorrhoids.🙂
Had the surgery last week, now I'm just home recovering.
Been dealing with this since high school, and I'm 34 now. I was done with the creams, the wipes, the ointments, or any of those "home remedies." I just wanted it cut out and over with.
The truth is, it’s not exactly a simple fix, but I'm hoping these little monsters😈 won't haunt me anymore.
Sure, nobody can say for certain if they'll come back, but I'm living for the hope that they won't. I'm just tired of every trip to the bathroom feeling like a death mission.

Figured I should brag a little about being brave enough to pull the trigger.🙂 🙂 🙂

huge congrats 🙂

but seriously, once you're back on your feet, just make sure you get back into a regular routine with some good old-fashioned intimacy, and I bet you won't have any more issues at all

Hey, brisknomad6, if only it were actually that easy.😍 😍

I still feel like I'll never be able to get ahead in this life.🙂

So, how did that surgery actually go? What kind of recovery routine are they putting you through now, and how many days did you end up stuck in the hospital?

Nah, I didn't go to a hospital. I saw a private specialist in Chicago. You just show up for a consultation, and then you figure out the logistics based on what they find. Basically, they decide the game plan after the exam.
First day was just the checkup and getting the IV lines hooked up—they put these little rubber bands on them to cut off the blood flow. Second day, they basically cauterized them. Honestly, "burned" feels like the most accurate way to describe it.
Then comes the part where those things have to die off. It’s brutal because you still have to deal with regular bathroom trips every single day—you're trying to keep everything perfectly balanced, not too hard, not too loose—but everything you're passing is just pure pain.

If there's anything else you want to know, just ask.

Seriously, props to you for getting through that.👍 Now you can handle pretty much anything life throws at you.🙂

Since you decided to go through a private specialist instead of sticking to the public system, how much did that end up costing you out of pocket? And honestly, I have to say, major props to you for actually having the guts to pull the trigger on that decision rather than just sitting around waiting.

Paid $2 $167.
Got some painkillers for home, even some cream for my backside—not like it’s much, but at least they care. And when I went back for the follow-up? Zero extra charge.
Doctor said everything was covered in that initial amount. Even though he did more work during the check-up, plus local anesthesia, an injection, and all that...😎 😎

I honestly just hope all this misery ends up being worth it somehow, and more importantly, I hope you never show your face around here ever again.
