Please don't laugh at me, even if this sounds ridiculous, and please give me some advice if you have any ideas.

Basically, I get these sudden, sharp, throbbing headaches out of nowhere. It feels like someone just took a hammer to my skull.
But here's the thing—it only happens when I'm focusing really hard on reaching orgasm during sex. Yeah, you read that right.
The weird part is, sometimes it hits (the headache, not the orgasm 😁 ) and sometimes it doesn't.
The only logic I can come up with is that by holding my breath or messing with my breathing while I'm concentrating on... well, you know 😁, I might not be getting enough oxygen to my brain.
What else could it be?

Even when the pain kicks in, I usually just push through, finish what I started, and go about my day, though the headache lingers.

Massaging my temples or taking a Tylenol helps occasionally.

Any idea what's going on?
I haven't told anyone because I'm terrified people will make jokes like, "Oh, she can't have sex because her head hurts..." and all that stuff.

Thanks.

For three years straight—though it finally let up this year 🙏 🙏—I dealt with these exact same daily headaches from the age of 3 to 5 months... though, granted, they didn't happen during sex 😁

It would just keep happening all day long, hitting any random part of my head... these sharp, stabbing pains that lasted about 10 seconds... and it would go on like that for two months at a time, all through the day 😵
And the intensity was enough to make me dizzy... for those 10 seconds, I honestly didn't know where I was 😵

I never did figure out what caused them 😢

Pills aren't the answer; they just kill the mood. At least for me.

And I had no idea about that concentration thing. Is a woman's orgasm some kind of mental exercise? What, you solve a system of five differential equations and then you're done? I always thought you were supposed to relax... Give it a shot, maybe you'll manage without the brainpower. Otherwise, you'll just end up with a headache from overthinking—I've been there. But I certainly didn't finish while doing that.😢

I didn't realize concentration was a thing. Is female orgasm basically just a mental math problem? Like, you solve a complex calculus equation in your head and then suddenly finish? I always figured you just had to relax... Give it a shot, maybe you'll hit the mark without having to focus so hard. Otherwise, you might just end up with a headache from overthinking—been there. But I've never finished while doing that. 😢

Thanks, but that’s not quite it.

This only happens when I'm actually having sex.

Look, I don't know how to explain it. It's kind of like when people use mantras during sex to delay finishing—well, I use a mantra to actually get there. Or when I want to speed things up, I just pick up the pace and go.😁

Maybe my blood pressure drops or my heart starts racing faster, so that might play a part too... honestly, I have no idea.

All I know is that I don't usually get headaches, and I've never had any issues with Tylenol.

I feel like I went through something similar when I was younger and totally inexperienced—just focusing way too hard on the physical sensation. I could never actually reach an orgasm, and I guess from all that intense effort, my blood pressure probably spiked or something. I don't really know. 🤔

Don't finish like that. Try getting turned on using feelings, your imagination, or just setting the mood. Find whatever works for you so you can actually climax without having to focus that intensely—you know, with minimal physical stimulation.

BTW, looks like you're suffering from a sexual hangover... gross. 😁

Unbelievable.
Listen, X...
Your wife is telling you straight up,
Look, we’re having the exact same experience.
Basically,
When you're solo and getting way too focused, your carotid arteries constrict just to pump more blood into... well, the equipment.
And it's happening to you too.
All four of those neck arteries tighten up, leaving your brain starving for oxygen.
The blood goes south,
And what happens next? Who knows. Maybe it all ends up in some cave formations down there.👋

You get so incredibly wrapped up in chasing that orgasm that you don't even realize your dear Sevo is basically slamming your head against the headboard or the wall, and then—boom—you're suddenly nursing a massive headache. My unsolicited advice? Maybe try wearing a headband.

I think it’s worth pointing out
that it’s all happening in the brain—yours, obviously,
but his too, since you’re both working toward the same goal here.
So,
he needs to step up and be more mindful of how you're feeling.
In other words,
just relax and follow what Velma tells you to do. Stop stressing about whether you'll reach a climax or feeling responsible for the outcome.
If it happens, it happens.
If it doesn't, just let him know he needs to start breaking a sweat from the get-go.
That way, he gets to see this new side of you. Who knows? He might actually love it.
You never know.

...just a bit of a "panic mode" question here...are there any doctors or medical gurus lurking in this thread...or maybe someone who’s dealt with similar symptoms before?

...lately, I've been dealing with some seriously weird headaches: almost every single day, they're sharp, and it's always just one side of my head and face (specifically the area around my eye), lasting for a few hours...sometimes longer...and when the pain gets really intense, I start feeling nauseous too...
...on top of that, I've noticed my right hand has started shaking—the same side as the headache. It's not like a constant, visible tremor, but it's enough that I actually gave up on eating soup because holding a spoon feels impossible, and I have to be careful not to drop my coffee spoon every now and then...
...I've had headaches in the past (I used to deal with anemia for a while, so the assumption was everything was connected), but never anything like this...I mean, I'm sure it's nothing life-threatening, but it's starting to get pretty annoying...

...is it just me, or does this sound familiar to anyone else?

...thanks in advance 🙂

hmmm, that doesn't sound exactly harmless... if I were you, I'd give my doctor a call
ASAP... just to be safe... better safe than sorry, right? 🙂
I get those headaches too; they usually kick in during the afternoon and aren't even
that painful, they're just incredibly annoying. I can get through my day, but I still feel that
pressure in my head... anyway, my blood pressure is naturally low and I'm a bit anemic
so I usually just chalk it up to that...

I’m dealing with the same headache nightmare myself—it’s like a migraine that starts in the back of my head and wraps all the way to the front. It gets way worse if I move too much, and the nausea always hitches a ride. It usually flares up during my period and those "fun" hormonal cycles. My plan is to stop taking birth control first; I’ve been on it for 7 or 8 years now, and honestly, it could totally be the culprit behind these killer headaches. If things don't look better by next month, I'm heading in to get some actual tests done.😉

Go see a neurologist. You need tests (an EEU is a must). It's impossible to say what this could be; I can only guess. It could be anything from migraines to some form of seizure.

Can someone please tell me what the best move is for dealing with these crazy weather shifts? My head is absolutely killing me—and I need something that won't wreck my stomach, if you know what I mean:
Thanks!

I usually stick to Tylenol. It's pretty easy on the stomach, though you’ll probably need to pop two if the headache is really kicking your ass.

I’m also a bit of a weather watcher myself, and I have this massive issue with Tylenol; it wipes out my headache with terrifying efficiency, but then leaves me feeling completely nauseous and ready to throw up. Plain old Tylenol—just straight acetaminophen—doesn't do a thing for me. Does anyone happen to know which specific ingredient in the Tylenol formula is the culprit behind the nausea?

300 mg of magnesium and some coffee

or maybe

600 mg of Motrin—which, I mean, that's probably pretty rough on the stomach, but if you don't take it on an empty stomach, it should be fine, I guess

or maybe just

600 mg of Motrin—which, I mean, is honestly pretty heavy on the stomach, but if you don't take it on an empty stomach, it should be fine, I guess.

Look, if magnesium, coffee, or Tylenol aren't doing the trick—and let's be real, pills can absolutely wreck your stomach—you could try analgesic suppositories, like Voltaren or Kevat. Just don't go there if you're dealing with hemorrhoids or any other anal issues.
If your headache isn't too intense, essential oils might help. Lavender is a good bet, though there are others (I'm not exactly an expert here). If you don't mind the smell, lavender is one of those few oils you can actually apply straight to your skin without diluting it first.
Some people swear by boosting circulation. You know, the whole thing where you dunk your hands and feet in warm water then cold water—though personally, I just love splashing them with cold water. It works for me, but everyone's different.
You could also try herbal teas...
And apparently, acupuncture is supposed to be effective...
(Sex helps sometimes, assuming the headache isn't totally debilitating. No, I'm kidding... well, maybe not, it actually really helps me.)
