Brew yourself a wicked strong cup of coffee—think of it as your own personal substitute for an Excedrin😉—and squeeze some fresh lemon right into it. Once you finish, wait for that inevitable, forceful bout of vomiting to kick in. It might be a bit of a struggle, honestly, but it should provide some relief. Personally, I never suffer from headaches, but my mother deals with them constantly due to chronic migraines. Drink plenty of fluids. And for heaven's sake, open a window.

Maybe try sipping on some Guaraná—it’s loaded with caffeine (plus some theobromine, which might actually help settle you down a bit)—but just... please, don't follow that up with a heavy cup of coffee. Maybe just brew something light and squeeze in some lemon instead.

Do you happen to have any ginger on hand? I've heard that can be quite helpful too, especially for easing up nausea.

Oh, and here are those acupressure points for you; I'm crossing my fingers that there's some kind of helpful spirit out there so you don't have to do all the massaging yourself: http://www.magnecare.co.uk/html/acupressure.html.

Thanks for the "recommendations"—though I’d just watched a movie right before it kicked in, so maybe that was part of it.
I rarely deal with headaches, so I honestly have no clue what to do when they hit—total amateur here. 🙂
I tried playing some migraine relief sounds, but honestly, it didn't really do much for me.

I already knocked back a Guaraná earlier today, so I probably wouldn't do myself any favors with another one—what am I even supposed to do with myself all night? 😁
Thanks for the acupressure instructions, but when it comes to me, I usually just have to trust my own gut and hope for the best.🙄 🙂

Kenneth Sanders97 said:Metamizole was my absolute lifesaver after getting my wisdom tooth pulled. Seriously, it was the only thing that worked. I tried basically every other painkiller out there, but they'd only touch the pain for maybe two hours tops. With this stuff, I managed to get through about 6 or 7 hours...

I deal with migraines and bad cramps from time to time, but nothing compares to that kind of pain... 🙂

Metamizole rules 🙏 👋 🙂

Watch out with Metamizole, though—it can really wreck your liver!

A quick heads-up to everyone on the forum—please refrain from using titles like the one this user just posted. I won't be enforcing any official disciplinary actions this time...😁 but I would appreciate it if we could avoid this moving forward. Please review the rules regarding thread titles, or simply follow these guidelines:Start with an uppercase letter, avoid all caps, use no more than one punctuation mark, and please avoid made-up words.

I've been dealing with these killer headaches for a week straight now... went to the pharmacy and they swapped me from Excedrin to Aleve forte 275mg, then bumped me up to Aleve forte 550mg, but honestly? Nothing has touched it yet. Is there anything else I can grab over the counter that might actually kill this pain once and for all? I'm seriously at my breaking point here... I can't even sleep at night because of it, I just pass out from pure exhaustion around 6 AM and then the pain jolts me awake by 6:30...

Thomas Fox67, if you want my honest advice, get yourself to a doctor immediately. All those pills are just masking the pain; they aren't touching the actual cause. Honestly, the stuff you're taking looks strong enough to drop a horse... a headache that intense isn't normal. For my own headaches, I usually just stick to Excedrin or something similar... I really hope you can find some relief soon, because living with a migraine like that is pure misery...

Even the lady at the drugstore told me straight up that this stuff is basically meant for horses, but whatever... my doctor is out on vacation at the beach right now and the replacement doc doesn't think my situation is some kind of massive emergency, so I guess I just have to suck it up and wait until my regular doctor gets back from the coast....

Pathetic 👎. With service like that, they're going to stay stuck as "temporary" replacements for a long time.

Motrin is actually really effective for pain. But look, if this thing won't let up, you should probably just head to the ER—they can get you sorted out immediately once you're there. Honestly, maybe you're just dealing with migraines or something. Either way, you need to see a doctor ASAP!!!

Listen up... my girl has been struggling with bad headaches lately..
Since she used to deal with anemia, we figured that was the culprit first. She went in for blood work, but her iron levels were totally fine. Then she thought maybe it was just PMS, but nope. We checked sinuses and even saw an eye doctor, but everything came back normal. It looks like our only move left is booking a neurologist.

Anyway, here’s the quick c & p:

"The whole head hurts, sometimes the temples, right now it's the crown... It lasts from morning until night."

Based on this, it doesn't seem like a typical migraine because the pain is constant.. Does anyone have any clue what we're dealing with? (I know there are a million different reasons for headaches, but still 😁) :\

Thanks in advance 🙂

My own experience with chronic headaches has been pretty miserable, but like you mentioned, it could be anything under the sun. Seeing a neurologist is definitely the best call.
Besides the headache itself, is she experiencing anything else—like dizziness, losing balance, facial drooping (where one side of the mouth hangs down), weakness in one arm, visual spots or flashes, or extremely high blood pressure? If any of those symptoms are present, you should head straight to the emergency neurological clinic at the hospital.

They say they get occasional lightheadedness, hmm... Well, they're heading to the emergency neurology department in San Francisco tomorrow night to get checked out, so we'll see. Thanks for the advice. 🙂

So, what was the diagnosis?

I haven't been specific yet. I just asked her about what Angela Wright mentioned—specifically if she’s experiencing any dizziness or vertigo. She went ahead and ordered an EEU. Her headaches haven't been quite as intense lately, so things are looking up slightly. It probably isn't anything too serious, but honestly, it's better to get everything checked out immediately.

They should definitely go see a neurologist first, get an EEU done, and then maybe a CT scan later—though you have to keep in mind that involves radiation.

I’ve got a serious problem on my hands. I’ve gone through every possible medical checkup you can imagine—skull scans, sinus exams, eye exams, MRIs—and every single result comes back perfect. But this headache? It’s absolutely killing me. Every day, the pain gets so intense I just want to give up. Let me try to describe it. Sometimes it feels like a stinging sensation in the top of my head, and other times it feels like there's fluid trapped in the back of my skull. I dealt with migraines a few months ago, but those luckily cleared up. Now, the real issue is my concentration. I can’t get anything done to save my life. It’s like I’m a magnet for bad luck lately; I keep attracting irritable people, and over the last two months, I’ve already been in three car accidents and wiped out on my bike once. I can barely write ten words without messing one up. So, how did this start? You might think I’ve lost my mind, but honestly, it felt like I was experiencing a shift in consciousness... though the transformation didn't quite take. I’ve seen a psychotherapist at least 20 times, and even he’s completely stumped. My neurologist just keeps handing me magnesium supplements, but they don't do a damn thing. This has been eating at me for six miserable months now. If anyone knows what might help, please, let me know. If my talk about higher consciousness doesn't make sense to you, there's a good description of it here: , 3. Power - MANIPURA chakra, the navel center, the fire center. I know what you're thinking—that I've gone crazy and an asylum is the only place for me—but please, just try to help and give me some advice. Thanks.

You should probably double-check your vision, get some blood work done, and maybe have a doctor look at your stomach—could be an ulcer or just irritation from stress. Most importantly, go talk to a professional at the link above. Don't feel ashamed or like you're losing your mind. Talking to someone who actually knows what they're doing can solve things and give you the kind of support you're looking for here online. Good luck.

Have you had a color Doppler scan on your cranial blood vessels?
To me, it sounds like your brain isn't getting enough oxygen, most likely because of a misaligned cervical spine, which you can check with an X-ray.
A neurologist can use a Doppler to see the blood flow and how much it's actually dropped.
The symptoms are absolutely brutal, they'll drive you insane.
