I’m coughing, sneezing, my nose is running constantly, and my eyes won't stop watering... I feel like a total wreck. And honestly, I know I'm going to be stuck feeling this way for at least the next few days since there isn't a magic cure for this... How can I get even a little bit of relief?
Do any of you have tried-and-true remedies to help me actually function while dealing with the flu or a nasty cold?

maxflu.
Loads of fluids—water, tea, lemonade, all those vitamin drinks. And some homemade chicken soup.
Fruit (think oranges or clementines).
Honey.
Nasal spray. Maybe an inhaler.

Look, those are just supplements, but they won't do squat if you aren't actually resting. Trying to power through your daily grind while dealing with the flu or a nasty cold? That’s basically Mission Impossible. You need to sleep as much as possible and, if you can swing it, stay home for a few days. (Side note: once you hit a fever of 100°F or higher, you're done for—you physically cannot function, no matter how much you want to. Honestly, trying to work through that kind of fever is just masochism at this point.)

Plus, you'll stop spreading your germs to your coworkers and everyone else around you.

🙂 😘

And you really gotta air out the room regularly, too. You can't let that air just sit there getting stale... that's basically an all-you-can-eat buffet for parasites...
It’d be a good idea to give your space a deep clean every once in a while... because those things? They just hang around, waiting to strike again. It’s like a cycle that never ends if you aren't careful...
I totally get why you're feeling so lousy right now... honestly, I wake up every single morning feeling like I'm coming down with something... and by tomorrow, it's usually a full-on cold. It's just gross...

Man, I woke up feeling absolutely trashed today... ears are totally plugged up and my nose won't stop running. So, yeah, current recovery plan involves massive amounts of tea, some lemon, and just staying glued to my bed. I'm skipping my classes at NYU too—mostly out of courtesy for my classmates, really. Don't want to be the one who gets 😬
everyone else sick.

You're being a total sadist here. 🙂 You should probably sell them the flu instead, so they can stay home and get some rest too. 😬

Heh, what am I supposed to do about it? Let them just go ahead and catch something else on purpose... 🙂

Advil really does the trick—I can usually power through three days straight before I finally cave, but the second those symptoms start creeping back in...

Man, you're tripping! Of course they could use a break from all those college classes!😁

Personally, I swear by a spoonful of honey stirred into a warm glass of milk every single morning... though at this stage, I think I’m mostly just doing it as preventative maintenance once I notice my belt feeling a little more snug than usual.

It’s full-on home remedy mode: gallons of tea, plenty of lemon, and staying strictly in bed... "Make sure you're airing out your room regularly; you really shouldn't let that air get stale... it's basically a five-star resort for parasites.
It would be a smart move to deep clean the space where you spend your time... because those little guys can hang around and strike again whenever they feel like it, making the whole thing feel endless..." 😬

Hey everyone, first time posting here. So, I’m wondering if it’s actually possible to be stuck with a cold for two weeks straight? Usually, I’m back on my feet in five days tops. Right now, I’ve got this low-grade fever hanging around between 99 and 99.5 degrees, and every morning I wake up hacking through this thick, green mucus. Do you guys think this is just a stubborn cold, or am I looking at something more serious?

Honestly, guys, I am completely losing my mind here.

One nostril is totally blocked, and the other one is doing the exact same thing—except, you know, even worse. At this rate, sleep is officially off the table tonight.

What should I actually bother picking up at CVS tomorrow?

To top it all off, I managed to lose my Sinus IT nasal inhaler somewhere today. Just great.

Man, this cold is absolutely killing me.

Now I’ve got onions shoved up my nose—not really, but it feels like it—and I’m out here weeping like someone just told me my favorite sports team lost the Super Bowl, all because of this congestion.

Does anyone actually have a recommendation for something that works? What medicine should I grab?

What should I pick up at the pharmacy tomorrow?

To top it all off, I managed to lose my Sinusin inhaler earlier today!

Try some Afrin. It clears you out instantly—total game changer!👍

So, I’m relatively new to this forum. I’ve got some nasal spray on hand, but honestly, I’m not entirely sure about it.

I picked up some DayQuil, though it wasn't cheap—around twelve tablets for the box.$10

The plan is to take them once in the morning and again at night.

Just grab some of those powder packets... you know, like Emergen-C or maybe some Advil Cold & Sinus packets... they really help get you through it.
I totally get how much this sucks, it's honestly so irritating... but hey, just hang in there, you'll be feeling better soon.

Here’s my foolproof three-step routine for kicking a cold.

1. GARLIC
2. BEETS
3. LEMONADE

Garlic is a powerhouse—it basically nukes a cold on contact. WORRIED ABOUT BREATH? Just snack on some raw parsley and wash it down with a glass of milk. That does the trick and keeps your breath smelling fine.

If you throw some oranges and kiwi into the mix too, you won't even have to worry about getting sick.

There's so much nutrition packed into real food and fruit that we don't really need those overpriced, harsh medications.

It works, I promise. Give it a shot!
