So, I'm currently dealing with a cold—currently nursing myself back to health with a pretty intense cocktail of meds and whatnot...
I always seem to get sick around September, so maybe it’s just the change in seasons hitting me—which, since I’m a total weather junkie, really takes its toll.
As for how much lemon actually helps, who knows? I can't stand lemon in my tea.
I use honey instead—don't really notice a huge difference, but it's worth a shot since it's natural, healthy, and you don't have to worry about addiction or an overdose.
Regarding sleep, once I hit a high fever, there's nothing else I can do but sleep... when the temperature isn't that bad, I just stick to my usual routine.
That theory from your English professor actually reminded me of how whenever I'd catch a cold in the summer, someone would always tell me to go eat some ice cream 😁
And if you're looking for suggestions, you could try some propolis—people swear by it as a natural antibiotic.

I absolutely demolished some BBQ sliders with onions and some seriously killer spicy pepper spread for lunch. It basically acted like a natural decongestant—my nose is wide open and I’m feeling that total sensory overload effect. Now, I’ve gotta swing by a friend's place for a quick round of shots or some cheap tequila to steady the ship, since I promised I'd show up, and then it's straight to bed.👍
I'll let you know how the aftermath looks.

Slept through half the day, my head is pounding, and I barely even touched my tea... don't ask why. 😢
This isn't going away anytime soon... ☕

I can tell you exactly why I end up catching a cold four or five times a year... it's because I’m constantly walking around my house barefoot, regardless of whether it’s July or January. Honestly, I didn't even realize I was doing it until someone pointed it out to me.

And during the summer? I get sick because I’m stubborn and leave the fan blowing directly on my head all night long.😁

I don't know, maybe try building up your immune system a bit. Don't just wait until you're already sick to start drinking lemonade; make it a habit to squeeze some fresh juice every single morning.🤷

I’m completely wiped out by every possible cold, infection, or virus going around. I just finished my third round of antibiotics in a row. First, it was Medazol for some inflammation downstairs, then Cephalexin because a tiny cut on my skin turned into a full-blown infection immediately, and most recently, I wrapped up Amoxicillin for a swollen lymph node in my neck. All of that on top of a constant cold—stuffy nose, sneezing, chills, headaches, and that low-grade fever. The ones hovering around 100 degrees are always the worst.😢...Now my throat is stinging again and my nose is running like clockwork every single morning. I'm burning through boxes of tissues at this rate.😢
I need to find something to boost my immune system because clearly, it's hit zero.☕

Man, you guys aren't the only ones. I might as well join the club at this point. My nose is basically a leaky faucet today. Everyone at the office is giving me these weird looks, too. It’s honestly ridiculous—this whole thing always seems to hit me right when autumn rolls around. Just my luck, I guess.

I ended up getting knocked sideways by a massive migraine this past Saturday. It was so bad I actually left a sweat stain on the armchair where I was slumped over. I finally headed home around 1 PM and spent basically all of yesterday passed out. I’m feeling a bit more human today, though my nose is still running—just not as bad as yesterday. I’m still feeling pretty wiped out, even though I managed to power through half a workday. Once I got home, I whipped up an apple pie. Now, I’m just going to tuck in with a cup of hot honey tea, pop some Lekadol, take a shower, and crash👍

So, I guess we’ve actually learned a thing or two about how to deal with a common cold now.

I finally managed to crawl out from under the wreckage of a cold about ten days ago. It was one of those classic cycles too—three days of non-stop sneezing and a runny nose, followed by two days of running a fever, and then the part I honestly despise most: five grueling days of trying to fix a nose that’s been completely raw, red, and irritated from constant wiping. I’ve tried basically every miracle cure on the shelf, from specialized soothing creams to heavy-duty ointments and even just standard Vaseline, but nothing seems to actually do the trick. To top it all off, as if that wasn't enough of a headache, I ended up dealing with a little herpes outbreak too, both on my lip and inside my nostril.

I woke up this morning with some green phlegm after spending the entire night breathing through my mouth. Is anyone else dealing with this? O.o

That’s just sinus drainage hitting your throat. 🙂
It happens to me too.
I finally managed to fix my nighttime congestion using Afrin spray. It clears me out instantly and lasts pretty much the whole night. Sometimes I still wake up to the sound of my own snoring because my nose gets stuffed up again, so I have to use it one more time. Neti Pots just didn't do the trick for me.

My sinuses don't even hurt, even when I apply pressure!

Pain isn't always a requirement for an issue to be present.
Start using a steamer or grab some nasal spray to clear things out and get the drainage moving.

Most people catch a cold right after summer ends. Part of it is just being out in the sun too much. You get sunburned—which is basically just skin inflammation—and it drains your immune system without you even realizing it. Then, once you try to jump back into the grind with a weakened defense (honestly, slamming from total relaxation straight back into a heavy work schedule at places like Goldman Sachs is a recipe for disaster), you become an easy target for those nasty little viruses.🙂

I barely spent any time out in the sun this summer. I’m pale as a ghost. And since I'm not even working right now, there isn't even a 😕 reason for this. Honestly, I have no idea why I've come down with a cold. It's almost as if some invisible particle drifted through the air and decided to settle right in my nose... damn it all.

I was out soaking up the sun and diving deep. Suddenly, it felt like I’d surfaced from the ocean floor after years underwater, and there were zombies everywhere😁 But honestly, things settled down after a day or two. That’s just the usual pattern for me; it's been happening since I can remember.
It all started out looking like a simple allergy. It felt like something was constantly getting under my skin all last month. First, my palate started itching, then my eyes got all scratchy, then came the drooling and the occasional sneezing fits. After that, my tonsils started acting up, and once that passed, it morphed into this mess.
I’m feeling a lot better today, though I still sound like I’m talking through a stuffed nose.😳

I have recently started incorporating royal jelly into my daily routine.

Wait, what on earth do you mean by mother's milk? 😲

Bee products😉
They’re fine, I guess, but my local beekeepers always tell me that royal jelly really needs to be eaten fresh, otherwise it loses all its potency.
Native propolis is also good, though if you have a pollen allergy, you might want to stay far away from it.👎

As for me, grapes do the trick. I just sit here snacking on Isabella like a total idiot.🙏

What exactly is native propolis? I assume you can pick it up at a local pharmacy, but what’s the damage on price?
By the way, I'm currently in that stage where I'm coughing up mucus that's basically trickling out of my nose. It’s thin, ranging from pale yellow to bright yellow. I know the mucus is the culprit behind this brutal cough I've got. My dilemma is whether I should just let my body "clear itself out" naturally or if I need to actually medicate. The coughing is intense and irritating; I nearly gagged this morning because it was so suffocating. Hm.
I'll try nasal inhalation again tonight. Last time I had a cold, that was the only thing that saved my throat from all that irritating drainage. Anyway, this cold has already dragged on for a week. Khm. Is that unusual?
