Good grief
Johnny 5 😁
Was absolutely legendary.
That movie was a personal favorite of mine back when I was, as Michelle Alvarez8 puts it, an early adopter. 🙂

Melissa Moore32 said:BTW, what do you mean by non-humanoids? Like, things that aren't people, or things that don't have a human shape? Or maybe both?
...I mean things that aren't human—so Darth Vader doesn't count. It shouldn't be someone made of "flesh and blood," but they could still look human (like Data), or be a hologram, or whatever.

So, GORM is out too, I guess.
Then we’ve got: the NOMAD from Star Trek TOS, maybe even Picard as a Borg. 😁
I'll probably think of a few more later on. 😁

Oh, absolutely! 👍 👍 👍
I actually reached out to ABC just last week to see if they were planning on running a rerun of that, but they shot me down and said no. 👎

If we're actually taking rankings into account, then Voyager even edges out the Alien, Hall, the current rigid Terminator, or Agent Kovac.
Does anyone else vividly remember when Voyager sang "You Are My Sunshine" during that legendary duet with the Doctor? Because I know for a fact she did. It was that moment where the Doctor really hits those high notes, and she just gives him that subtle, robotic eyebrow raise.

Let me throw a few more into the mix:
ED209—I was totally obsessed with that thing when I was a kid.
Gmazolet and the Boogeyman (someone brought up Captain Power earlier)
That badass Robot from Judge Dredd plus that psycho with the thing on his forehead... honestly, just thinking about them ruins my mood.
The Robot from Saturn 3—that thing absolutely terrified me back in the day.
I'll probably think of a few others later.😁

Did anyone actually bring that up? I don't think I caught anyone mentioning it.
Anyway, that series just popped into my head today, and man, it would be awesome if they ever reran it. I actually still have an old VHS tape with some episodes on it, including those last two which were honestly incredible.
By the way, the robots are "Soaron" and "Blaster" 😁

Wait, what was the name of that computer from "WarGames" again? Did it actually have a specific name, or am I just misremembering?
#34 ·
That crazy computer that impregnates Julia Christie and then she ends up giving birth to some massive, giant baby.

You mean Proteus in Demon Seed!
In that movie, Julia Christie (who is hands down my favorite actress, by the way) looks absolutely stunning 🙂)))

boldmason6 said:Yoda. 🙏 Oh, for sure! I'm totally obsessed with his weird way of talking.
Whoa, hold up a second—Master Yoda isn't a Robot.
I mean, if we're talking about a puppet being moved by guys off-camera? Sure. And in the newer movies, he's a CGI character, but still—not a Robot.
Someone above mentioned Seven of Nine and singing... yeah, Seven and the EMH were singing "You Are My Sunshine"

Yoda - Robot😲 😲 ....blasphemy....

Yoda isn't humanoid, right? That puts him squarely in the category mentioned in this thread. Besides, Seven of Nine isn't a Robot either. If anything, you could argue she’s actually human. Don't forget, before being assimilated by the Borg, she was just a little girl taken from her parents...
Yoda, then. I'm sticking to my guns. Period.

Like a broken record, I find myself repeating the same list of characters, but one specific figure remains etched in my memory: a robot cowboy from a movie I simply cannot place. The main antagonist—that cowboy—was played by Yul Brynner (I’m not entirely sure of the spelling, but he’s that ultra-charismatic bald actor from The Magnificent Seven).
Anyway, my recollection is that near the end of the film, some tedious hero throws acid in his face. Throughout the whole thing, Yul stalks his victims with the most effortless, cool swagger imaginable—it was "John Wayne, take cover" levels of smooth. He radiated such an aura of coolness that even The Terminator would have run away just to catch a glimpse.
I would give anything to see that movie again. If anyone happens to have any leads or more details about this film, I am humbly requesting your assistance.
I was certain that the two-part harmony of my favorite heroes was what had flashed through my mind. I am a true devotee of Voyager, though I assume the EMH—the Emergency Medical Hologram in solid form—refers to the Doctor.

Wait, so Yoda isn't even humanoid?
He's got two arms and two legs—totally humanoid if you ask me. 😁
EMH stands for Emergency Medical Hologram, by the way.
