The person is vegan, not some sort of universalist.

I guess people just make up that joke about humans being universalists to justify eating meat.

As an old wise saying goes: "The craving for meat isn't driven by the body, but by the wicked spirit dwelling within it"!!!

👍

It’s actually scientifically proven—humans are meant to be vegan!!!!🙂

Michael Cox40 said:Where is this coming from? Humans fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum between omnivores and herbivores, not carnivores. We really need a balance of both meat and plant-based foods.

Michael Cox40
you’re honestly looking at this all wrong!
It's amazing how much damage a little bit of misinformation can actually do!

The truth is, humans aren't built to be carnivores; we are naturally herbivorous at our core, and the fact that we eventually started gravitating toward consuming animal flesh is really just a reflection of a conscious choice to live in an impure, unhealthy way. 😢

Thankfully, there are still plenty of people out there who haven't fallen for this obsession regarding how "essential" meat is to our survival....

If only more people would stop for a second and truly consider how devastating something like lard can be for your brain function...
..not to even mention the impact on overall health 😲 🙄

Absolutely!!! 😛

You can find them in just about any meat-free meal out there!! 🙂

JUST SO YOU KNOW... there's even progress being made with amino acids in brewer's yeast! 😉

And what about proteins from animal sources too??? Interesting...

And who exactly told you that humans even need proteins from animal sources in the first place?? 😕
-Maybe it's those "meat-loving" doctors talking?? 😁

this guy's basically a UN official
but he started out as a total vegan
only to end up as this super meat-heavy eater with his own little squad of vegetarians 😁

what was the author actually getting at here? 😁
eh, you guys are smart—you'll probably figure it out...

Well, if we're all supposedly embracing everything under the sun, why wouldn't it be perfectly fine for someone to just go ahead and swallow some nitrous acid? I mean, if we're truly playing by those universalist rules, shouldn't that be on the table too? 😁

.. essentially ending up by suffocating himself under layers of fat and grime, plagued by illness and the sheer nastiness of those "essential" animal products. 🙄 👎

No way I would've passed up that lamb on the drive down to the coast—honestly, I almost choked because it was just so good...

Oh, give me a break 🙄

So, by that logic, why don't you just snack on some cacti or maybe some oleander? Since you're such a dedicated plant-lover, right?🙄

Thanks for the reply... 🙂

Yes. Pork is great meat, provided you actually know how to cook it properly.

I don't touch pork because it smells kinda funky to me, like someone else mentioned... I'm all about fish instead.😁 😁 Plus, man, it just tastes way better than some greasy pig meat.🙂

It’s obvious that humans are actually vegan. Just look at the facts: we have two stomachs, we chew our food constantly, and our teeth are basically built just like a sheep's. It doesn't matter that scientists (those meat-eating types) try to convince us otherwise by pointing at chimpanzees. In reality, our true relatives are horses. Shouldn't we all start greeting each other with a friendly "hey there, horse"?
Everyone should be free to eat whatever they want, as long as you don't act like an idiot about it.👎

It honestly drives me nuts when my relatives—even just second cousins—invite me over for lunch, and of course, there’s always some massive spread of meat on the table. I really don't eat meat, especially not pork or anything like that. And then, the second you mention you're skipping the meat, they snap at you: "Oh, so you're a vegetarian now?!" As if that's some kind of insult, when people are out here trying to eat healthy! It turns the whole meal into this awkward scene...
Or, like that one time my father-in-law and aunt dragged me out to a restaurant, and I was hoping for some veggie specialties, only for them to give me this "diplomatic" look and say, "Well, just because you don't eat meat doesn't mean you aren't going to eat *something*, since we brought you out to dinner."
Fuck, I won't even touch a salad after nine o'clock, let alone meat.
I guess I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to accept. I just don't like it, and I'm not a fan of soda or stuff like that either.

Wait, so you're a vegan now too?! As if there's anything wrong with that. People eat healthy for a reason!!!

Not necessarily. Being vegan doesn't automatically mean you're eating healthy, just like eating meat doesn't mean you're living on junk food.

Let people eat whatever they want and just stop talking trash.

The pig is leading 😉

I used to know this guy who was a strict vegan before he finally tied the knot,
(you know the type—won't touch meat, yet somehow still wears leather shoes,)
and honestly, he was just this pale, sickly-looking, scrawny dude...
but then love hit him, he started eating meat again, filled out, and suddenly
he had the complexion of a high-end fashion model...................

Now I’m sitting here wondering what the problem is?????????????

(Moderation in food and drink, I suppose.) 😎

Honestly, I’ve run into plenty of people like that. 🙄

They’re all against meat, against leather, against everything... right up until winter hits. Then, suddenly, they’re back in their leather shoes because, well, it gets cold. 🙂

mellowwalker22 said:... And I told her that plant-based food is really what’s best for us—I mean, just look at how the human body is built, from our digestive organs to our jaw structure and intestines... [/i]

Hold on a second—what, do you have four stomachs like a cow or some crazy digestive tract? 😲 What kind of nonsense is that? If that were true, we'd have molars like cattle, but we don't... and if humans were carnivores or predators, you could tell just by where our eyes are positioned...

Thanks for getting back to me... 🙂

Well, it really depends on how you cook it...
like, ham is totally fine 👍 👍
ribs are alright too... maybe some bacon with roasted potatoes? 👍
honestly, nothing beats a good roast pork shoulder on a spit 🙏

I'll ask again if I have to! 🙂

I was once chatting with a well-known lady about nutrition—you know, how everything is getting so expensive and what's actually good for you, especially since so much food feels contaminated these days and all those health issues are popping up. It's the usual stuff. I mentioned to her that sticking to plant-based foods might be best for us, especially considering how the human digestive system is basically built for it.

I heard somewhere that strict vegans, the ones who avoid any animal-derived amino acids entirely, end up dying within three years, so I guess if you want to take that risk, go ahead. 😉

That’s just nonsense! I actually know someone who hasn't touched meat in fifteen years, and they're doing absolutely fine—healthy as can be. They don't even use salt on their food.

Michael Cox40 said:Just because someone identifies as vegan doesn't mean they're automatically eating healthy—and just as importantly, skipping meat doesn't guarantee you're doing your body any favors.

👍

I’m right there with you. Honestly, I feel like the whole conversation around nutrition gets way too simplified by focusing on this "meat vs. no meat" binary.
If you have a balanced diet—you know, the kind built on a foundation of whole grains, then legumes, veggies, fruit, and all that good stuff—it really doesn't matter if there's meat on the plate or not. On the flip side, if your diet is poor to begin with, cutting out meat isn't going to be some magic fix; if you aren't fueling yourself with high-quality ingredients, the presence or absence of animal protein won't make much of a difference. It feels like we put way too much weight on meat itself rather than looking at the bigger picture. 🙂
