Absolutely terrible movie! I honestly have no clue what Morgan Freeman was thinking with this one! The atmosphere actually worked pretty well right up until the moment those aliens showed up. At that point, I just completely lost it—I couldn't stop laughing at those ridiculous CGI creatures. That sense of pure silliness stuck with me all the way through to that exhausting finale! 😂

Man, I was watching stuff on HBO and honestly? I think the book is just way better than the movie! You get such an incredible cast, but then you get this weak film—it just doesn't add up, does it? 👎

The movie actually starts off on such a high note, and when I first saw that opening sequence, I thought it was absolutely brilliant. Then, out of nowhere, these aliens show up and instead of just attacking, they go straight for the gut—literally entering you to devour your insides. It was quite a shock! Despite that sudden turn, I still hold the film in high regard because that first act was so well done.

Hands down, the best comedy I've seen in... what, five years? Definitely.

The sheer amount of motifs and that ingenious plot—it jumps from paranormal horror straight into body-snatching alien bastards (to borrow Morgan Freeman's phrasing)... When Dr. Gray, which makes zero sense given he’s an alien and therefore neither a doctor nor an Englishman, decides to call a trucker a 'gentleman' in the middle of the deep Midwest, I absolutely lost it... and honestly, I didn't stop laughing until the credits rolled.
The shit will hit the planetary fan...

It was a similar vibe with Tommy Knockers. You have those demons and dolls flying around, and then you finally realize the whole thing was actually about aliens..

So, I happened to revisit that film just the other day, and I must say, it struck me all over again with its particular brand of charm.

I sat through Kill Bill, and while I’ll concede there are a handful of standout sequences, the experience didn't offer much beyond that. Then there was The Mummy; honestly, it wasn't half bad, especially considering the sheer absurdity of its premise. As for the Blade trilogy, I find myself scratching my head over why you singled out the second installment as the outlier. While I found all three to be decent enough, the second one felt particularly underwhelming to me—specifically because they went entirely overboard with that mechanism for opening those mutants' mouths. It was a stylistic choice that, in my estimation, completely derailed the movie's momentum.
People have been raving about Braindead to me for quite some time now, so I suppose I'll finally have to sit down and watch it; I'm also planning to tackle Evil Dead II and Doberman, though as for the rest of your list, I simply can't track them down anywhere.
Oh, and regarding Hellboy, are you referring to the one who looks like this 😈? If that's the one, then I've already seen it, and I actually thought it was a pretty entertaining flick.

I suppose I should force a laugh at this, even if I did claim earlier that it was a great flick; truth be told, there are some genuinely pathetic and laughable scenes in there, but for me, the narrative itself felt quite uniquely conceived, and that remains the sole reason for my praise of this film.

The pricing is an absolute shambles—pure, unadulterated chaos. It’s just a disorganized heap of nonsensical, slapstick one-liners.
I’m actually considering picking up the DVD... 🤔

Yeah, I actually finished the book, even though I almost gave up after that ridiculous part where the alien comes out of his ass. 😲 It's worse than the child sex scenes in King's IT. Look, I know my movie list isn't exactly high art, but picking ten "best" movies is a losing game. I can recommend stuff, debate stuff, or argue about it, but naming my top 10? Impossible mission...😳

Honestly, I thought this movie was pretty solid. You've got Morgan Freeman and Jason Lee starring in it, and then you have aliens emerging from... well, let's just say a very unexpected anatomical location. I mean, what more could you really ask for?😕
