#stopwastingyourtime# seriously, how much free time do you people actually have to follow this garbage? I can barely catch a Liverpool FC match without a million people on the highway spamming me just so I can make it home on time, and those losers are somehow watching fairy tales on the way
every single road
why am I even fighting these idiots under my breath
go die alone lol

It’s only six twenty-minute episodes—hardly a huge commitment, right? 😁

Thanks for the tip. Watched it and it’s actually pretty decent. But seriously—6 episodes at 25 minutes each? That's basically just one long movie...

hiddencyclist112 said:There is so much more to come, and frankly, we haven't even begun to grasp the caliber of the generations that have grown up and finally stepped onto the stage. This is especially true in certain pockets of the country—places like specific cities in the Deep South—where society has turned a blind eye to blatant social dysfunction for years. In these areas, children were raised with completely warped norms regarding behavior and what is considered acceptable versus taboo. The types of individuals who would be pushed to the fringes of a functional society are, instead, the ones holding power here; they are the ones being questioned, and the very people shaping our daily reality. When you combine poor parenting with even worse offspring, you get a recipe for disaster. To make matters worse, there is absolutely no systemic accountability or rule of law to speak of. It is truly a tragedy. There was once such immense potential here...

God, man, why are you so hung up on those coastal towns? The crime rate is way higher in places like the suburbs of Miami, for instance. But I guess you can't live without that specific coastal vibe and their "unique" sense of morality. Yeah, sure—because nothing says "proper values" like women and kids throwing rocks at players in the stands because they're "passionate," or constantly booing players based on their skin color. Truly top-tier social standards right there.

Anyone got some solid recommendations for a new surround setup?

And is it actually possible to find something that handles both Dolby Atmos and DTS without me having to drop like $5,000? Does anyone here actually know their stuff when it comes to this gear?

Thanks in advance! :*

I'm currently running with the 5kE, and I have to say, I'm quite satisfied with it.

1917 was absolutely superb. Truly exceptional. It’s one of those rare films where the technical mastery is so seamless that you don't even realize you're being dazzled by the execution until after the fact.

I didn't even blink for the first forty minutes
The pacing felt a little disjointed for me right in the middle, but man, that ending absolutely blew me away
It actually beats Dunkirk in my book
Dunkirk Mendes has been a total magnet for me ever since American Beauty...

Whatever it is, just make sure there's a subwoofer included.

Without real bass, you aren't getting the full experience.

Same here regarding the middle and the end. The production design and cinematography—especially those specific shots showing the grit and the mental state in the trenches during the retreat... it's heavy stuff. Especially after bingeing all that Great War content on YouTube.

As for the actual story, I'd say Dunkirk takes it because of the technical execution.

But seriously, do you actually think a soundbar can ever hold its own against a legitimate home theater setup? I'm looking at a pretty small room here, maybe like a 15 by 15 space.

Man, that’s a pretty decent sized room you've got there...

They can't. You'll definitely get better audio than your TV speakers, though. Just don't expect anything much beyond the basics from soundbars priced under $3,000...

I got a little carried away and ended up going with something like 3.5 by 5, but honestly, I’ve got some issues on the side, so now everything is just incredibly "concentrated" right in the middle.

What, you asking about the USD now? Seriously?

I just stumbled upon this one. I honestly can't believe I'm even looking at this JBL setup right now because, let's be real, most of these soundbars are absolute garbage that'll leave you feeling like you're listening to a tin can rolling down a flight of stairs, but this one actually seems to have some teeth to it. It’s one of those rare moments where I might actually stop complaining for five minutes if I could just get the subwoofer to stop rattling my damn floorboards!

What are you even talking about? Seriously?

They can't. Buy an AV receiver and a minimum 5.1 speaker setup. Credit where credit is due, I own a soundbar myself, but it simply cannot replicate the spatial depth and precision provided by high-quality cinematic audio tracks.

With a soundbar, you always end up with the impression that the audio is mono; everything just feels like it's coming from the front, and no amount of processing can hide that. It is certainly an upgrade over standard TV speakers, particularly because of the bass.

Even though this one linked from JBL—which is actually decent—it at least features discrete rear speakers.

A soundbar can't quite replicate a dedicated 5.1 system, but if you don't have the room to properly space out speakers for true surround sound, then a high-quality soundbar is the way to go...

In my opinion, this one offers great value: Yamaha YAS-209...

This one is actually better and more powerful. It's essentially Harman Kardon inside a Samsung shell, and you won't find it cheaper anywhere else compared to the previous model: samsung-hw-q70 (I just noticed this sale price is only valid today 😬)...

That JBL doesn't get much praise in reviews. I was considering the HW70 myself, but ended up passing because other expenses came up. By the way, since you're in the States, always check the local retailers first to avoid unexpected shipping issues or import fees on higher-priced items...
