I guess we're seeing more of those predictable adjustments to the fiscal landscape that everyone keeps talking about. It seems like things are shifting again, though I suspect most people won't be surprised by the outcome. Maybe it's just the way things work now. Everything feels a bit repetitive, honestly.

I just hope irresponsible people don't cause trouble over these pay cuts during such a tough time. If they do, we won't have a choice but to cut salaries even further.

It looks to me like one reckless individual has become a bit too powerful for the taste of the ultra-wealthy. They’re starting to lose their monopoly over everything, and they want to restore the balance.

If I recall correctly, I read a few months back that his salary was closer to 16k.

Honestly, what is the point in even commenting on someone like him or people in that same bracket? If it weren't so pathetic, it would actually be funny.

Could you please walk me through this? I have a feeling I’m in for a long read. Who exactly are these "reckless individuals" and who are the "ultra-wealthy," and how exactly are they losing their monopoly, how does that loss manifest, and what is their ultimate endgame here? 🙂

The guy makes over $20k.

Probably just regular citizens.

More young people are starting businesses, which forces large corporations to decentralize.
Money is being spread out more, and the people in power don't want that—not in any country.

Now they have excuses to stop providing incentives for new small businesses for who knows how long.

But no matter what I write, you're going to mock me.

Enjoy staying home.

I honestly love how, as usual, nobody mentions that the Church—which is basically the biggest real estate mogul in America and has its hands in starting like 2,000 different companies here—should probably just give something up. Ever. Or actually carry any kind of weight for once.

It's a decent theory, but I’m going to have to disagree. Sure, corporations have their own agendas, but this isn't some Hollywood thriller. The giants dominate specific industries; there's no way some local entrepreneur is actually threatening their bottom line. And even if they were, they'd just buy them out in a heartbeat.

The real issue here is that because of the COVID-19 fallout, there's just no money left in the budget. Well, unless you're a government bureaucrat looking for a paycheck, but that’s nothing we haven't seen before.

Buying out one company isn't the issue. Buying out thousands is.

Think about the sheer amount of effort, wasted time, paperwork, and red tape required to swallow up thousands of businesses.

That's the other problem. Everyone wants to be their own boss now, and large corporations are finding it harder and harder to find workers.

Honestly, they don't even need to bother. The government tends to kill off the little guys all by itself just through sheer regulation. It's a pattern: the more suffocating the rules and the harder it is to actually run a business, the more it benefits the massive corporations while crushing the small players.
In America, it's always worked this way, so the big corps don't even have to lift a finger. The state basically does the dirty work for them, indirectly.

Oh please, remind us about those men in dresses again just when we were finally starting to forget they existed.

If you’re planning on diving into Altered Carbon, do yourself a favor and just stick to the books. Honestly, the series is five times better than the source material; I couldn't even make it through the first episode and a half because it was just so incredibly shallow.

That’s the core issue right there. Every time people stop showing up for guys like Jeff Bezos, we hit a recession—just another manufactured downturn, probably hitting by the end of the year.

I tend to skip over Altered Carbon quite often, but once I finally wrap up my run through the Mexican crime sagas—specifically after finishing Narcos and moving on to Chapa—and get through Freud, I’ll probably dive back into it just to have something to watch...

The English game is actually pretty solid. Sure, some of the football scenes feel a little ridiculous, but the overall vibe is great—plus, you get to see a few good beards along the way... ☕

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that *Altered Carbon* is a visual masterpiece—it’s absolutely stunning to look at—but when it comes to the actual substance? The plot is incredibly thin. It’s all style and no soul...
I really dig the premise of the book and the world they built, but I can't say the series actually did it justice...

People are saying Freud is a total disaster, though I haven't even bothered to sit down and check out the trailer yet...

To me, AC just feels like a total Blade Runner rip-off, like it's lagging thirty years behind because Blade Runner itself was basically the blueprint for all our modern cyberpunk fears.
I watched a little bit, and yeah, it’s gorgeous on a 4K TV, but honestly, that’s about it—it lacked enough substance to keep me hooked.

Exactly. It's nothing more than a visual feast with absolutely zero substance behind it.

Of course they take the money like total idiots. It goes to everyone getting a paycheck in America—basically anyone paying taxes in the US.
