Higher temperatures kill the virus, but it spreads much harder when it's warm out. That seems obvious enough.

wiredrider9 said:David Icke just had his YouTube channel wiped, his Facebook page gone, and now he’s doing a live interview
They scrubbed him from London Real—they even crashed their own site, so what’s the actual issue here? 🙄

I mean, look, the guy talks a lot of absolute nonsense, but man—censoring everything just because of one old dude? That’s wild.

Maybe he orchestrated this himself just to stir up rebellion and fuel the imaginations of his crazed followers.

I had some debates with vegans recently. My god, how warped their heads are.
You can't beat them with facts when they deny everything except whatever fits their narrative. It's totally selective.

The only upside is that they used to be frustrated and miserable, and now they think they've found enlightenment.
Even if they're living in a total delusion bubble, let them enjoy it. Just tell them to stop being aggressive about trying to "awaken" the rest of us.

Seriously, claiming veganism is the only right and natural way to live, yet there were 6 billion people on Earth long before that idea was even a thing.

They're just the hippies of the modern era.

You basically have to drive 100 miles93 miles north just to find a local farmer who does things the old-school way—where they scatter seeds all over the ranch and pray for rain tomorrow. But honestly, the lamb isn't quite like what we have back home; it feels like it's missing that little bit of salt in the air, you know? Still, it's pretty good!

The Canadians always tell me that Alberta beef is the absolute best in the world.

But then again, looking at what’s left of ours, there isn't much left to compare it to, I suppose.

Honestly, you just gotta find a small-time farmer who isn't doing massive industrial stuff and you'll be fine.

The rest of it is just plain wrong—between the factory farms, the mass production, all of it.
I should probably leave the door open and record some footage while I'm still semi-conscious.

darkseal9 said:man, no way... I keep hearing people on here claiming that once the temp hits 78, the virus just dies off immediately.
if it actually did that, I'd be totally fine whenever it hits my system!

That would be absurd; if that were true, the virus wouldn't stand a chance against anyone since the average body temperature is about 98.6, and everyone would just beat it back like Chuck Norris😁

The point refers to the survival duration of the virus when it hasn't found a host yet—essentially, the ambient temperature at which this crap survives... and logically, higher temperatures lead to faster degradation.

Once those spike proteins latch onto a host's alveolar cells, it doesn't matter much to the virus whether the host's temperature is 98, 102, or 105; the damn thing multiplies based on the immune system of whoever it attaches to.

By that logic, it shouldn't need to survive long outside a host either. We had instances here in the US where, during the early stages of this whole situation, the transport medium for swabs used when shipping tests to Washington, D.C. would get compromised. They try to create the perfect conditions for survival until the samples are reviewed, but you could end up with false negatives because the virus dies off if the medium fails.

To be fair, they've thrown all kinds of info out there... like the claim that it survived for 17 days on that Diamond Princess cruise ship. IMHO, maybe the only way that happens is if someone infected grabs a beer from the fridge, coughs into it, and then the virus manages to hang on that long due to the low temperature.

HIV and hepatitis viruses are known to persist longer in the air, mostly via syringes—and I’m assuming that’s just layman knowledge since they are embedded in blood plasma. Even then, it's likely only a day or two under normal outdoor temperatures and atmospheric conditions.

This crap spreads primarily through direct coughing, sneezing, or talking while the viral particles are still active and virulent in the immediate vicinity of a person. It's direct contact. That’s why warmer weather helps; there's less fluctuation of people in enclosed spaces, meaning less crowding and spreading. Plus, free-floating particles in the air don't live as long.

As for whether it will disappear entirely? Maybe, maybe not. Who can predict that? Indirect infection via objects is possible, but that would likely require touching something contaminated and then somehow inhaling it or ingesting it, leading to diarrhea if stomach acid doesn't neutralize it first.

Since people are being much more cautious now, it tends to spread through family contacts, or as someone else already noted, by people breaking self-isolation after having been in contact with someone infected.

The R0 is below 1, so there's nothing to fear; things are looking up. ☕

Nah, it's not real, his post just got nuked. And as for the whole vegan thing? Honestly, I don't think it's great for you in the long run, and I won't even get into the cult vibes—it's not just them, you see all sorts of weird stuff in those "natural lifestyle" groups nowadays.

The RO is sitting under 1, and honestly, looking at how things are playing out right now, the ROI is just going to be terrible because the Chinese were totally banking on Corona running the whole show, but instead, they’re finding out that the USA, the European Union, and even Russia are all working together to clip their wings. ☕

The Chinese have made the claim that they will be the world's leading economic power by 2030.

Who actually knows what's going on with my friend restlesssurfer97, who's really pulling the strings, and what's actually happening behind the scenes? ☕

Elizabeth Mendoza said:How much sense do these quarantine measures actually make, like what they're doing in Italy? Can someone please try to explain the logic to me? If the entire country is basically under house arrest, how on earth are they still seeing thousands of new cases every single day? How is it even spreading if the only people out and about are those who absolutely have to be? Sure, their daily numbers dropped from 3,000–4,000 down to somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500, but I still don't get it. If everyone is stuck at home, how does the transmission keep happening?

I can't get that old joke by Markoticke out of my head—the one where people in medical circles jokingly call COVID a "family" virus because most of the transmission happens within close-knit family circles.

The whole situation has hit countries way less hard if they reacted early and stopped that initial massive spike. Now, they can pretty much start winding things down without any hesitation because the pool of infection has shrunk and we aren't looking at a massive surge. It makes zero sense to keep a country like Germany under lockdown when they’re only seeing maybe 300 or 400 cases across 80 million people.

Look, it’s not a total lockdown; grocery stores, pharmacies, food production, agriculture, etc., are all running, plus hospitals obviously. And it’s not like they caught every single infected person and isolated them—there are definitely tons of asymptomatic carriers out there who aren't showing symptoms and haven't been tested, yet they're still spreading it. This kind of partial quarantine isn't going to stop the virus dead in its tracks; it just slows it down and keeps the numbers manageable.

What are your thoughts on this development?

To provide some context, Bill Gates actually mentioned on Reddit a while back the concept of "personal" identifiers in the form of a digital chip. The idea was that these would act as a sort of verification for vaccination status or digital immunity—essentially a system without which citizens might find themselves denied the fundamental right to work or travel.

Here is an excerpt from the article:

The ID2020 alliance launched a program in late 2019 aimed at securing digital IDs alongside vaccinations in Bangladesh, working in tandem with the Government of Bangladesh and GAVI. As they described it, the program views immunization as a unique opportunity to establish digital identities, which in the case of Bangladesh, would be utilized to track those who have received their shots.

Would you be willing to accept such a system?

Before anyone begins applying labels or resorting to mockery, it is worth noting that everything mentioned in this text is quite easily verifiable through the official websites of the organizations cited, as well as the previously mentioned Reddit discussion.

I feel similar about this as I do about the whole virus situation. I guess the severity of this virus doesn't really justify these kinds of measures or ideas that make normal life so complicated. If Corona were definitely going to kill 100 million people—then sure, maybe pursue that idea. But as long as it isn't a bigger threat than the flu, malaria, HIV, or other diseases, it seems unnecessary to give it special treatment that ends up stigmatizing people. We don't even have digital ID cards for HIV. Generally, I don't have any issues with vaccines; I've gotten plenty for travel, and I make sure my kids are fully vaccinated, including extras. But being tracked globally and having a "plus" or "minus" attached to me because of a sickness that 90% of people get through? No thanks. It feels like all these radical ideas are swirling around in people's heads right now, with some even saying we won't shake hands anymore. In a year or two, I suspect most of this will vanish, things will return to normal, and people will just move on from Corona. Since there's a forum archive, I guess it's fine to leave this here.

One thing really jumped out at me here.
Everyone seems to be counting only the fatalities. Honestly, if you asked me, I wouldn't mind being hooked up to a ventilator for two weeks if there was a guarantee I’d pull through.
It's not like everyone who catches this just breezes through it without a care; a significant number of those infected deal with serious symptoms, even if they don't end up dying.
And don't even get me started on the economic fallout from all the sick leave.
Sure, the immediate economic damage is massive, but if we can actually wipe this virus out, the long-term costs will be much lower.
