As for those live threads, honestly, I think most of you guys would just be staring at a blank screen if there wasn't some massive matchup between the Lakers or the Celtics to obsess over. It’s all they care about, really. And frankly, I'm a little terrified to see what kind of absolute chaos you lot would actually turn that thread into if it actually stayed active.

Look, regarding this whole idea of opening up separate discussion threads for the youth matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid—honestly, I’m totally against it. First off, just like when we talk about the live games, I can't even begin to wrap my head around how a thread like that would actually function without becoming a total circus. And secondly, there is absolutely zero point in running two parallel threads for the exact same competition; it’s redundant. Not that I doubt it wouldn't all just circle back to the Premier League discussions within two months anyway, but still.

darkmarlin16 said:I mean, I’m not totally sold on that take, honestly—there are plenty of us out here who actually enjoy following the grind and rooting for teams like PRIMERU instead of just blindly jumping on the bandwagon for the massive, big-name clubs.

Look, we’ve got fans for the Dodgers, the Giants, maybe even some Depor types hanging around here, plus the Sevilla and Valencia crowds—it's a real mixed bag. Honestly, it’s a miracle anyone even bothers to post at all because if they did, their usernames would just get swallowed whole by these endless, pointless arguments that drag on for twenty pages of absolutely nothing.☕

Give this "live" topic an actual chance for once, will you? 🙂

🙂

What's the deal with these special threads for every major derby 🤷 What kind of criteria are we using here 🤷

I’m honestly at a loss regarding the specific criteria here 🙂 I can't quite tell if we're actually allowed to start a thread for the QPR vs. Fulham match 🙂 Could someone please just lay out the guidelines for us? 🙂

That question wasn't even directed at you... 🙂 I’m worried we’re going to see a massive bottleneck in the PDF... 🤷

I think I speak for all the soccer mods when I say we were touched by your concern

but there really isn't much to it—the rule for opening a match thread is that it actually needs to gain traction and stay active. We aren't going to open threads for teams that only have three fans on this forum combined, just to end up with fourteen posts after the final whistle. We know which clubs and games get the most eyes—those are the ones that get threads, provided someone actually steps up to start them properly.

You’re definitely certain that you read what Carol Lewis wrote last night with intense focus:
This is going straight to the vault.

From here on out, we're moving over to the Soccer forum. If there’s enough interest in that, we'll make it happen. (Read the quality opener here), and we can start opening threads for every major derby in Germany, England, Italy, or Spain.

You ready?
We both know that isn't true. ☕

Look, here’s the deal: If. It would be interesting. We should definitely start separate threads for the big matchups, regardless of which league they're in.

To što sam I am ready. Please provide the posts you need me to rewrite. I started that thread yesterday because the idea just hit me out of nowhere. I was in exactly the right headspace, so I knocked the whole thing out in one sitting, images and all. I didn't actually pull the trigger on posting it until I ran my thoughts by Ryan Vaughn7 first. He backed me up and told me to go for it, so here we are.
But that was ME. Everyone knows my style when I start a thread; those posts weren't just about stats and numbers. There was plenty of high-level trolling mixed in, too. At least that’s how everyone else described it, and they seemed to enjoy it. It was all in good fun—I didn't even tell Vekiu what I was planning, so he had no idea what hit him. But at the same time, I was being dead serious because we're talking about a matchup between two legendary teams here. That doesn't mean I'm going to pull a stunt like that again. Maybe for the Madonna game, if inspiration strikes. If not, I'll just stick to commenting on the main threads.

Regarding the decision to shut down the live broadcasts, I’ve been in favor of that for quite some time. Even though that model worked incredibly well for the Italian leagues, you have to ask if it's actually worth it when you see how poorly the live streams for other major leagues have performed.
Nothing changes. We aren't cowards, and we aren't going to run away like rats. ☕

Take a decent matchup—say, something like a high-stakes matchup between the Lakers and the Heat—and you have to wonder where the conversation actually lands. Will people just ignore it, or will they head over to the general NBA discussion thread to dissect it?

I don't think there was any real need to mess with the LIVE thread.

I’ll be commenting on the Serie A thread—just like I did before the live stream—and on all the other league threads too.

I’ve gotta side with Betty Patel52 on this one. Honestly, moving things to the live chat was a total pro move—it kept those main league threads clear so we could actually have decent, constructive conversations without all the noise. Now? We're heading straight back to the weekend cycle where the main boards get absolutely nuked by a tidal wave of people celebrating every single goal and basically acting like the officiating crew is part of their own damn family. It's gonna be a mess!☕

Yeah, honestly, it made it way easier for me to skip over the junk when I was actually looking for something worth reading... I’m not even on the forum much during the weekends anyway, so I usually just catch up on everything during the week. But this change? This makes it such a chore.

RIP Live 😢

🤣

They wiped out the whole field today—absolute joke, man. 🤣

Personally, I actually found it pretty interesting—though clearly, some people just don't get it. 🤷

Those debates about drug policy weren't exactly hitting the mark either—not my thing, honestly. 🤷

Let's be pioneers here, for crying out loud—if we aren't going to step up, then who will? 🤷☕

Way too much trolling and insults in that thread—all because Andrew Hayes started it with that half-baked theory about Messi being a machine just because of growth hormone treatments rather than actual height. People have chewed over that topic a dozen times already, and honestly, I don't think anyone’s ever actually been convinced by it.

He’s been warned multiple times for trolling, and if he does it again, he’s getting banned. This is the last time I’m even bringing this up. I have zero intention of shouting into the void.

Absolute garbage 🤣

:censorship mode on:

Look, I honestly don't have a clue what's going on with this whole Pep situation—really, I'm lost here.

And what exactly is a "taboo subject"? Is Pep going to sue us for causing him emotional distress? Seriously, what the hell is that supposed to mean? It makes zero sense.

Since we’re already diving into his physical condition anyway—I was listening to the commentators during the last game, acting all shocked that Pep actually made a substitution in the 80th minute—as if they didn't see him getting subbed out constantly back in the day... blah blah blah.
I don't see why on earth we can't discuss potential new developments in the Pep saga, especially considering Lance's recent admission about using a whole pharmacy's worth of various pills and whatnot—which, let's be honest, isn't exactly news to our friend Pep himself.🙂

Is this an off-limits topic, or just somehow "inappropriate" for this forum?

Take a breath and try to keep the complaining to a minimum if you can. It really isn't a good look. First off, the guy had a medical issue and was prescribed treatment. That’s an actual illness, not some joke or a way to stir up drama. You see it all the time in the pros—players dealing with asthma, diabetes, cancer, or even guys coming back from devastating car accidents. Does that make them better athletes? Honestly, probably. When you're fighting just to live a normal life, let alone play professional sports, you develop a different kind of grit. And this isn't about being a fan of one specific team versus another; it applies to everyone in these situations. We shouldn't be trolling someone's health struggles or turning their medical recovery into some kind of fan rivalry. Let's try being decent human beings first, and fans second. Is that really too much to ask? (That’s a rhetorical question, by the way. I’m not looking to start a massive debate here.)

Seriously, man. I won't even get started on how you aren't allowed to call him a "mid" or anything like that, not even if you're just messing around.

The real issue here is that under the guise of "medical treatment" in professional sports, far too many questionable—let's call them shady—substances and methods have been introduced, which have repeatedly proven themselves to be nothing more than blatant doping and nothing less.

I'm not taking sides here, and I’m certainly not rooting for any specific team; I’m just genuinely curious—so I’m asking.

So, is this a taboo subject around here?
