That’s just the way it is—pure truth. 🤣

From what I can gather, the whole thing boils down to this: the only real difference between posting an email address and an MSN handle is that one is actually against the law while the other isn't. It’s basically a massive loophole, and honestly, our legal system is a complete joke—which, if you ask me, says a lot about how things are run in this country. Of course, a forum is stuck following the rules, no matter how much they resemble a tangled mess of red tape, so they have to block email addresses while letting people post their MSN handles just fine. I know, I know—it sounds totally debatable and makes zero sense to the average person, and frankly, even to a lot of the moderators. 😬 And at the end of the day, who can you even complain to? Just our dear old Jaca & co., I guess. 🤔 Btw, let's just drop all this political talk, alright? 🙂
Where am I getting this wrong?
Great. This forum only follows the rules when it suits them, and ignores them when it doesn't. Doesn't matter how flawed the system is. 🙂
So, when someone leaves their contact info because a woman gets banned, forum.hr pretends to follow federal law and acts like they aren't above it. But they're perfectly fine being above the law when it comes to hate speech, calls for public lynching, or openly demanding journalists be thrown in jail for reporting on crime, corruption, and social hypocrisy. They're fine with censorship, leaking private photos, exposing IP addresses, and fueling personal vendettas.
Brilliant. 🙂

Those who post their email only to have it deleted usually get the point immediately.
I fail to see the purpose of this thread. Is it just getting too heated?
The point is: let's all take a turn looking for the speck in Sasha's eye.
It feels like this forum is doomed to stay backwards if we let a handful of people vent their hatred and resentment toward the admin every single chance they get—including using threads like this one as an excuse.
And frankly, it looks like they’re trying to paralyze hollowtrucker77 by applying constant passive pressure. He's forced to overthink every single move just to avoid waking up to two new threads dedicated to dragging his name through the mud.
Bottom line? It’s impossible to run things under these conditions. It would be great if the rest of the staff—the mods and especially the supermods—stepped up and took over some of the heavy lifting. If someone else handled the technical side of Sasha's decisions, maybe we could stop these attacks from the forum's "left wing," who clearly can't handle the fact that someone with conservative views is actually keeping this place running.
It’s funny, isn't it? Once again, the leftists and liberals are showing how rigid and dangerous they actually are to democracy, both here and in the real world. If you aren't strictly following "their line," they’ll come for you. This kind of "thread tactic" is just more proof of that.

What I don't understand is this constant nitpicking and hair-splitting. The address was clearly left there to stir the pot and spark another endless, pointless thread on the PŽK. Sure, the rules are flexible and enforcement is inconsistent—it’s just a forum. Get over it.
I get it; seeing email addresses there doesn't sit right with me either. But this whole drama is only happening because of how Medin is acting—insisting this rule applies to every single corner of the site
. I just wanted to hear the part in bold, so thanks for that👍
Honestly, watching people try to force this "universal rule" logic on everyone else was driving my blood pressure through the roof, which is why I spoke up😉
edit: Paul Green31, seriously—and I mean this with the best intentions—your constant "defending" of Sasha and his choices isn't actually helping him at all😉
Sasha is a grown man who doesn't need a legal counsel. He's more than capable of standing his ground without you trying to "protect" him

shadowpilot8, check out the hanfu licensing thread 😉 or everyone else can just browse the threads about shopping at H&M (like ordering stuff from Austria) or any similar fashion topic. Honestly—I don't see the big deal in posting an email like steven.reed.whatever@gmail.com or a local provider. It's a whole different story if we're talking full names and surnames—and a completely different story if it's just my forum handle.
But then, when some absolute disaster happens because of it, who’s actually on the hook? Is it the forum, or is it you?

Bradley Sanders4 said:Look, I used to be a moderator on this forum, and the closest thing to the contract you're describing was a PM from a former head moderator that explicitly said, "don't give out anyone's IP address." Honestly, I couldn't care less about the lawmakers, but if you actually believe users have legitimate grounds for a lawsuit because of this, well, hey, who am I to tell you you're wrong? 😁
I still remember back in the day when we’d get a Word doc listing our responsibilities, and it would always kick off with:
Moderators are responsible for...
And yeah, that document actually defined how to handle user data too.
But that was ages ago. It's possible someone just stopped sending them out, though that's a pretty stupid move if they did.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm also a grown man—legally and otherwise—and I'll decide who to defend and when. Besides, I have that f***ing flaw where I tend to stick up for the underdog, and right now, Sasha is just the little guy getting kicked around by a pack of bullies on the PZK.

Ryan Thomas4 said:If we look at this from a technical perspective rather than a legal one, someone.something(at)gmail.com isn't an email address.
If I recall correctly, that was how the notice was phrased over at the FBI.
I suppose I should clarify: what specific phrasing is actually prohibited on this forum?
For instance, would it be considered acceptable to say my gtalk handle is someone.something@gmail.com?
Or would that count as sharing an email address?
What about someoneDOTsomethingATgmailDOTcom?
Is that technically an email address, making it forbidden?
Or if I were to say someone.something via Google?
Or perhaps mention that my nickname is identical to my Yahoo email?
Would all of those instances be deleted or flagged as private information?
So, what is it?

I don't want to start yet another thread just to ask this, so I'll just drop it here,
is it actually allowed to post your own email address on this forum,
whether it's in a post or on your profile?

Bradley Sanders4 said:As I understand it, those privacy laws about leaking info are meant to stop people from doxxing others, not from posting their own damn details. Is there a lawyer on this forum who can make sense of this mess?
What mess?
Person A posted their own email address just so other users could reach them while they're under a ban.
The upside of deleting it: you eliminate the tiny, microscopic chance that she accidentally leaked someone else's address (which is unlikely, since why would anyone bother posting a stranger's email just to tell people to send them private messages?) or that she tries to sue the site over her own self-published email. That wouldn't fly here in the States, either.
The downside of deleting it: you're stripping away her ability to talk to people outside the forum (which isn't actually part of the ban she received), you're setting a precedent where admins would have to scrub endless amounts of private info from profiles and posts across the entire site, you're fueling more drama with an already unhappy user, and you might even inadvertently push her to create a sockpuppet account just to stay in touch with people.
You don't need a law degree to figure out which option makes more sense.

From the very first second I logged onto this forum, I embraced a simple reality: whatever I post is my own responsibility—nobody else is to blame for my mistakes but me. 😉The exact same logic applies to Facebook, or any other corner of the internet, for that matter. 😉

I assumed that was the entire point of a ban.

melloworca6 said:And how can you actually be sure you're leaking your own data instead of someone else's?
You can't know for certain, because let's face it, you can't know almost anything in this life with 100% certainty.
What you can do is weigh the situation and see if you can reach a level of confidence that's "good enough." In this specific case, we have a user who's currently under a ban, yet she's providing her email address so other users can reach out via private message. To me, it sounds perfectly plausible. I don't see any logical reason why she would go through the trouble of posting someone else's contact details. I’d say there’s a 99% chance she's telling the truth about it being her own info. I’m leaving that remaining 1% just in case she completely lost her mind overnight.
If you want my take on moderation, doing it without using your brain is like going skydiving and deciding not to pull the ripcord.
