Noah Myers8 said:Honey, if that helps you sleep at night.

Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow Americans: Noah Myers8, being as logical as ever. I’m just waiting for her to back up those massive arguments with actual evidence—maybe some cardboard? ☕

Anyway, sweetie, take a look at the handful of posts I've dropped over on Alternative in the last week. They haven't been flagged. But yeah, okay, they were pure trolling. One typical half-wit even tried to engage with me, but honestly, I just didn't have the energy to mess with him any further.
Which is a hell of a contrast to the clear, constructive questions that you—for some reason—label as trolling.

You're clearly incapable of forming an objective opinion or having a rational debate.
But hey, obviously you aren't incapable of moderating a total dumpster fire like Alternative.
Of course you aren't. You actually helped turn it into one.

Oh, right. I’d love it if you could list at least 20 forum rules that this user supposedly broke just a few posts ago. I mean, since you're claiming there are that many, I'd really like to see exactly which ones they were. Maybe then I'll finally get a glimpse into your mature, objective, and totally rational moderation criteria.

I honestly don't understand why some of you think "Alternative" means just scribbling down whatever nonsense pops into your head. It’s as if I could start a thread claiming the moon doesn't even exist and then spend all day trying to prove it. That isn't an alternative perspective; it's just plain garbage. Frankly, people should be penalized for posting this kind of stuff because you've completely trashed a perfectly good subforum 😉

Everything just went south, didn't it? Honestly, it’s not even bad for the forum or the Alternative crowd. I just need to be able to look myself in the mirror, which is why this whole ban situation actually stings. The Alternative can—and really should—be better than this. It’ll happen once the mods realize they need to stop playing favorites, getting dragged into pointless bickering, and acting like they're running a private club instead of a community. Look at the whole dustyharbor18 situation; it just proves she doesn't have the bandwidth to moderate fairly. She’s totally biased and basically powerless here. By acting like this, she basically wrote herself out of the job. That ego is a powerful thing, isn't it? You’ve gotta have some serious backbone to keep moderating after a stunt like that. Making dustyharbor18 a moderator for politics would be a total joke—I'd be laughing my head off. Oh boy, oh boy, dustyharbor18...👍

I’m going to go ahead and ask everyone here to try and keep this discussion at a somewhat civilized level, if that’s even possible
it really ought to be the most efficient way for us to actually arrive at some kind of meaningful resolution
thanks

This is the Alternative. It has nothing to do with being civilized. At least, not by our current standards.🙂

I hope you won't think I'm being too presumptuous if I dare to predict how this is all going to play out—regardless of whatever happens in this thread: the moderators aren't going anywhere, the forum stays exactly the same, the purges will just keep happening, and appeals against the mods will continue to be ignored—all because the forum owners prefer having a bunch of absolute bottom-feeders in charge. Idiots are what bring in the money, especially since they don't block the ads.

There aren't going to be any solutions. If there weren't any before, and if certain moderators are allowed to get away with stuff that gets everyone else banned, then nothing is changing now. A tiny handful of us will complain here, the "relevant" mods will give their usual non-answers, and then everything will just slide back into its usual state of dullness.

P.S. Noah Myers8, homeopathy is basically just a fancy synonym for a placebo. ☕

Personally, my access to the history section has been blocked because I supposedly dared to quote: "I am redundant there"! And then you have Scotsamnn constantly whining about how few people actually contribute over there! Well, it’s perfectly obvious, isn't it? When someone runs a total dictatorship, people either walk away or find themselves barred from entry entirely, rather than being grateful that anyone bothers to write anything at all! At least I still have enough free time to post in the history sections of other forums!

I agree, this is a massive issue for this forum, and the admins need to start treating it like one. We seriously need to tighten up the requirements for becoming a moderator. In my book, a mod should be someone who is mentally stable, objective, and actually knows how to behave when talking to people. They need at least a decent level of communication skills. We don't need people using their power to settle private scores or nursing their own inferiority complexes on our heads. Users shouldn't be subjected to insults that are basically primitive behavior. It’s pathetic.

If someone can't meet even those basic standards, they have no business being a moderator. Period. The users are what make this forum what it is, not the moderators or the admins. Those guys should be invisible here, only showing up in their own damn PDFs. There are plenty of ways to discipline people who break the rules without resorting to dictatorial power trips. It’s especially pathetic when a moderator abuses their authority to stomp on someone's freedom of speech. Honestly, if we actually enforced some basic behavioral norms among the mods, this place would be a much better environment for everyone.

Let people speak their minds as long as they aren't breaking forum rules or US laws. Why would we ban one of our most basic human rights just because we don't like what's being said, or because of some selfish interests? We should be part of something that actually frees people—something that inspires them to explore themselves and the world through real discussion.

I’m hoping some kind of solution actually comes through, for better or worse.
but even if it doesn't, there's still no sense in people just getting handed red cards and bans.
no matter how you look at it, it's just counterproductive.

You might be right, steelskipper5. It’s just that I’ll never understand why you feel the need to preach to the heathens. Just let us poison ourselves or drink sugar water if it makes us happy.

Keep dreaming. I’ve been around this block long enough to know that the chances of that actually happening are basically zero.
Noah Myers8 said:You might be right, steelskipper5. It’s just that I’ll never understand why you feel the need to preach to the heathens. Just let us poison ourselves or drink sugar water if it makes us happy.

Look, Hani, I’m not exactly out here trying to convert non-believers—that's just not my thing. But, I gotta say, it’s actually pretty refreshing to see you calling the rational opposition "welcome" (though, if we're going by what dustyharbor18 said, maybe that's being a bit too generous).

Yeah, go ahead—keep poisoning yourselves. Honestly, I’m actually rooting for MMS and all that other junk; I see it as nothing more than evolutionary pressure. Since apparently every single question around here is just trolling, and every debate is basically just people trying to baptize their own delusions, I guess I'll just sit back and let you all kill each other off.
I honestly don't give a damn.

Look, I'm only here to debate. That means I’m going to tackle topics that might ruffle some feathers or poke at people's specific beliefs—and honestly, I don't see that as an issue. As far as I can tell, this forum is supposed to be a place for discussion, right? So, let's actually discuss things.
Look, Alternative isn't exactly a place for actual debate—and if you look at what you’re saying, it's pretty obvious. It’s more like a playground where people who already agree just sit around poisoning each other or swallowing whatever sugary nonsense they're fed. I mean, around here, every single question is treated like trolling, and any attempt at a real discussion—especially if your opinion doesn't line up with the status quo—is immediately branded as heresy.

The Alternative—with a name that's supposed to imply they're open to different perspectives—basically nukes anything they don't agree with, acting exactly like those most hardline, narrow-minded religious forums. I guess you guys only consider common sense to be an "alternative" if it agrees with your specific brand of nonsense. Congrats.

@dustyharbor18 Here’s a little something for you—a positive and successful addition to the Alternative scene, featuring some solid old-school tracks. It’s all part of the plan for when we finally wrap up these "dark attacks from religious fanatics and fake messiahs" that you’re almost about to take over for the Alternative communityhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CocuK...eature=related🙂
steelskipper5 and Noah Myers8, seriously, go hang out over at Spark. I honestly can't tell what kind of "value" you guys think you're adding to the Alternative scene by having these debates there. If steelskipper5 is right when he says he could get slapped with a ban just for talking like that over there, then something is definitely broken. Because looking at it here, it's obvious that steelskipper5 isn't some troll; he's just a regular guy on this forum. Just because he doesn't agree with everything Noah Myers8 says doesn't mean he deserves to be banned. steelskipper5 actually puts in the work and gives reasoned arguments, whereas Noah Myers8 just drops a sentence or two and calls it a day. Maybe Noah Myers8 has the capacity to write more, but they haven't shown it yet. Or maybe they just think steelskipper5 doesn't deserve a polite response. I'm getting a clearer and clearer picture of how things actually run here at the Alternative, and frankly, it's not pretty. At least it's not happening here. Noah Myers8, sorry for messing up your handle earlier.

What kind of resolution?

We’re all sitting here currently banned, and apparently, the reasons are just some vague, "ethereal" nonsense; we don't even have a single shared link to prove we're all being targeted, yet the punishment is this draconian thing handed down with a fake sense of forgiveness. It’s easy enough for political maneuvering, I guess, but for me personally, I can’t even go over to the Alternative health forums to post what I know because I have actual experience there, and human health is something I genuinely care about deeply

The only real solution here is to unban us, and if a specific post needs to be penalized, then fine—punish the post itself since the arguments there are perfectly clear. As it stands, the reasoning behind this massive, sweeping "blanket" ban is incredibly murky and makes zero sense.

I think the credibility of this entire subforum can be judged by one single fact: they recently permanently banned Endymion, who currently serves as a moderator for the PZ section, simply because he was deemed "inappropriate."☕

Back when the Alternative section was actually worth reading, it had some substance, but ever since they launched this insane campaign to ban anyone
who dares to offer a concrete, reasoned argument that doesn't fit within the realm of science fiction—or even just questions the validity of someone's "ideas"—the whole thing
has lost any semblance of
purpose. Honestly, they might be better off renaming it "On the Edge of Intelligence," because you truly get the impression that this subforum exists solely to oppose
common sense.
Any kind of well-intentioned critique or logical counterpoint is strictly forbidden, which might be acceptable if the Alternative section were limited to
ghost stories or, more accurately, fairy tales about lizard people and other nonsense. However, from what I can see, Alternative has turned into a breeding ground for various
pseudo-doctors and amateurs peddling medical advice that has absolutely zero scientific basis or grounding in reality; meanwhile, those who attempt to
point this out—as we are seeing in this specific thread—get permanently kicked out. The promotion of such content
is incredibly dangerous and, if I'm not mistaken, potentially even illegal, which means
this isn't just a problem with the Alternative moderators, but with the owner of the forum himself, who bears primary responsibility for all the content promoted on
the site. In my opinion, the state of the Alternative section is catastrophic, and it is high time that those who agreed to run this forum finally took some actual responsibility for it.👎

When people throw around lines like that, all they're doing is labeling themselves as someone who’s totally incapable of forming a balanced, objective opinion.

Hani, you have never once sanctioned my trolling. They're still right there on the threads about the Illuminati. It's just that they aren't any stupider than the rest of the posts, so maybe you can't even recognize them as trolling anymore.
My clear, straightforward, on-topic questions—even if they lacked arguments (but hey, included some insults later)—got labeled as trolling. Just because you didn't like them, I guess.

Look, you don't have to admit anything to me or the forum. Go ahead, keep covering your ears and screaming LALALALALALALA!
No big deal.
Just keep pushing the narrative that the problem lies with me—or with whatever other user you feel like targeting.
The truth is—and it's pretty obvious here—that the Alternative crowd stinks to high heaven, and you moderators all seem to be dodging very specific questions and concerns. By using these massive, biased bans and selectively picking sides in an argument, you're basically just proving that you're all just covering your ears and shouting LALALALALALALALA!

What exactly makes you think I’m unable to reach a sound, objective conclusion?😕
Look, I'm not out here playing sides or chasing any personal agenda; rather, I view myself
as representing that third party—the kind of observer who used to actually enjoy reading discussions on Alternative, back before
this entire subforum morphed into a version of Maštaralica where everyone competes to see who can drop the most intense
conspiracy theory without a shred of evidence, all while simultaneously launching a crusade against anyone attempting
to engage in actual reasoned debate or correct blatant falsehoods, a behavior conveniently
justified under the guise of "tolerance"
for opposing ideas and viewpoints.
