What are we getting from the shift change, is there any kind of swap going on?

The poll is up, but I guess we should all just chill out. Michael Lee4 has been around forever and I was definitely redlining too (on other subreddits and stuff), but that's why the President is there to explain things—everyone makes mistakes sometimes.

Dennis Carter9 said:Well, since we're talking about free discussion, he didn't delete your constant whining about the NEW Spark, so minor design critiques regarding the POLO should be fine.

One specific little example...

Edit: Honestly, I'm done commenting anything else here...

We all have our issues to deal with because, at the end of the day, we're just human beings.😬

Personally, I don't think a moderator even needs to step in and penalize users like CJ7, because honestly, he’s more than capable of embarrassing himself and shooting himself in the foot.

And back in the day, I actually asked Mr. Stinger why it was such a massive ordeal when someone accidentally posts a quote containing an image. Is it a storage capacity issue? A server bandwidth thing? The answer was just that it had nothing to do with that, and then... nothing. No further explanation. Just silence.

So, look,
early on, I had a minor friction with the gentleman in question, though he probably doesn't even remember it given the variety of patients he has to deal with. Or so I hope. 😂 I figured out what he's like: serious, almost professional in his consistency when it comes to deleting posts, strict, and perhaps a bit dictatorial—but I guess that's just what happens when you hold power. 😁😁

Personally, I'm fine with him staying. It seems like nobody else has the sheer willpower required to maintain order here, and let's be honest, if it weren't for Stinger, this subforum would turn into a landfill pretty quickly. 🙄

A bit of advice: try to mess around with the crew a little more, take a joke once in a while, and occasionally let some off-topic stuff slide. After all, this is supposed to be fun, not a full-time job. 😉

If a man can't keep his word, he isn't a man; he's God... (referring to my last post above). This sub is already a landfill, and it's only getting worse...(full stop)

Michael Lee4 isn't the only moderator, but he's definitely the one in the spotlight—and not just because of how things are measured in this subforum.

Come on, guys, let's not start a war here... just follow the forum rules and you won't get banned—it's that simple!

Here’s a quick example of why I actually got banned on a different subreddit. Compare that situation to this one and decide for yourself if the moderator here is really such a villain or not...

A doctor should be what a doctor ought to be... calm, composed, and most importantly, they actually LISTEN to what you say and want to explain everything you're curious about...

Basically, I got flagged because I used CAPS LOCK to emphasize a point that was crucial—the very thing people on that subreddit complain about most: being ignored when they talk about their issues...

I emphasize something in CAPS LOCK and suddenly I'm banned... There wasn't any tension in the thread, no fighting, nothing... In fact, the tone was totally peaceful, just someone asking for advice on which specialist to see...

That is what you call lazy moderation—where they don't even try to understand the context of what's being said... If you want a car forum moderated by people who just hand out bans without reading a single word, but will snap at you for forgetting a capital letter—then BE MY GUEST!!!!!

As for the other "issue" mentioned, I won't comment, as I'd rather not seem biased...

My vote in the poll is: NO - STINGER IS A GOOD MODERATOR

Mr. Stinger needs to stay... honestly, sometimes we all get penalized with nothing more than a lonely little smiley face in a post while he gets off scot-free, but whenever a discussion veers too far away from what the actual topic is about, he cleans everything up perfectly. And honestly, let him, because he deserves huge credit for those "New models" and "Top Gear, FG, BM" threads!

Alright. I’ll leave this open just a little longer before I lock the thread. A lot of people jumped on the poll quickly, and there's really no point in keeping this active any longer than necessary, for the reasons I already laid out. Results are right there.

What happened to you is pretty much identical to how Stinger operates. I accidentally tried quoting a post with an image once and, bam, instant strike. No warning, no nothing (I had zero clue it was such a sin).
It’s not even a big deal if someone hands out a strike. If they’d just come up to me and said, "Hey, I'm giving you a strike because of this..." I would've just told them, "Sorry, didn't know. My bad." amen.

Seriously? Are we really seeing a bunch of randoms with one single post showing up now?

Give everyone a chance to vote until at least tomorrow morning. It hasn't even been three hours since the topic was posted...

Yeah, man, but try seeing things from his perspective for a second... when you have to spend your entire day deleting and editing posts because of a stray image quote, or repeating the exact same thing a hundred times over... it gets incredibly irritating. It becomes exhausting...

And it's even worse when the same group of people keeps saying the same things constantly... at that point, even the stones would start crying...

blablabla... seriously, just post all the PMs between us because I am definitely not explaining this whole thing from scratch. Like I said, you're a lost cause. Someone who keeps getting three strikes in a row for the exact same thing, and then gets a fourth for that same reason? It’s no surprise his chat history got wiped on the new models, just like how that guy's Polo burns a quart of oil every 1865 miles... he still hasn't figured it out... and he still can't seem to read what's actually written, just stubbornly repeating the same thing over and over like a parrot...

It isn't a Polo; we are talking about Passat values reaching 45,000 dollars...

But you wandered off into Off-Topic... which isn't even the subject of this thread...

The real subject here is you—your arrogance, your conceit, and your sheer idiocy. It’s a rarity that people realize Grace Turner is a moderator... and it’s equally rare that people know the moderators on Tourism are Air Canada, but everyone respects them. They carry themselves with dignity, they speak normally with everyone, and they deserve nothing but respect...

Not happening, Grace Turner. Honestly, I’d rather have you on this thread myself, but wishful thinking and reality rarely shake hands.🙂))))

Look, honestly, I could just go on a power trip, handing out bans like candy, tossing red cards around, and wiping everything clean whenever I felt like it—but that’s just not my style. I can't stand working like that. Just imagine how messy things would get if I actually did, and how many people would end up exactly like this. 😁

Man, you really missed the mark on that one. You completely whiffed.

That's it. That's the whole thing. bit Man, these polls... you really do this all the time, don't you?

Regarding that poll closing... honestly, I think you should just leave it open for the full 20 days, or let it just die out on its own. If you shut it down early, you're just going to have everyone breathing down your neck, complaining that you didn't give everyone a fair shot to weigh in. It’s a headache waiting to happen.

The poll is completely irrelevant; what actually matters is who’s talking and what they’re saying. You should realize that a poll on Reddit is pointless since anyone can just make an account and click whatever they want. Is that clear enough for you?

coppernomad28 said:Just another classic case of condescension and being totally closed off... which is exactly why you clearly aren't grasping why we're all constantly questioning your moderation style.

"Blah blah blah"?!.......Honestly, that's the last time I saw a response like that, and it was in a preschooler's playground.

So you only caught the "blah blah blah" part of my post? You’re completely missing how weird the reasons are that Noah Perez9 keeps hounding me on Reddit. Like, does only the "blah blah blah" matter? Are his ramblings and my invitation to just lay it all out right here totally irrelevant?

Noah Rivera5 said:I don't plan on voting since I’m pretty indifferent toward Stinger. But honestly, I think he’d do a much better job if he took a page out of his colleagues' books; take Grace Turner, for example, who stays completely under the radar for me. She just handles business when necessary and moves on, without all the unnecessary bickering, insults, or trying to force her opinion on everyone. I guess Stinger acts more like one of us forum users than someone who's actually supposed to be overseeing the situation.

That's exactly why I talked Grace Turner into joining me on this job.

coppernomad28 said:Well, if that happens, just go ahead and disqualify them.

On the flip side, since Michael Lee4 has been around here forever, is it even possible he's got a bunch of clones running around? 🤷?
Look, I'm a guy with actual integrity; I stand by everything I write. I don't need games, I don't need clones, none of that stuff.
It's just the arrogance, the sheer ego, the unfairness, and the constant insults that get under my skin.

Since this place started, those two haven't posted a single thing without using a different account.

Michael Lee4 and Grace Turner are basically the only active moderators right now. Setra is technically here, but rarely shows up, and little User has been MIA for ages... Grace has been slammed with private work lately, but even then, she jumps in to handle what I can't get to. And as much as Grace and I might differ on things, we pretty much think the same way overall...

Look, if what Noah Perez9 is saying actually bothers you, then act like an adult and give him a straight answer instead of whining about it. Most things can be settled with a few words, some basic decency, and a little bit of good faith.

Also, for the record, I’ve never gone around publicly labeling your posts as "toxic," "nonsensical," "stupid," or "braggadocio"—even though, honestly, I’ve thought it plenty of times. Just... tone down the subjective labels. Your opinion is just your opinion, man; it’s not some objective fact just because you write it in a post.

I’d say Michael Lee4 is about 80% an incredibly good moderator, but he falls into that other 20%—the kind that carries enough weight to tip the scales against the majority.

Michael Lee4, if you don't plan on drastically cutting down that 20%, you might as well just resign. The issue lies with you and how you treat people; you aren't treating everyone the same, and a moderator is supposed to be NEUTRAL AND FAIR.

Of course, some level of tolerance is necessary since we're all just human beings here.
