bluecyclist64 said:That’s what Jurkas claims. We'll just have to wait and see if Tompa says the same thing tomorrow. Though, honestly, if Tompa tries to disavow those old symbols, he's finished. It would be like Steven Seagal trying to distance himself from martial arts to go star in serious Shakespearean dramas... Nobody would bother watching.

You know I was just waiting to see who’d be the first to baptize you back into America.👍

As for Kulenović: Why would someone who identifies as Nationalists try to distance themselves from that? (Not talking about Thompson here). Someone might distance themselves from what they were, not from who they are now. If being who they are bothered them, they wouldn't be doing it. Look, we all change our minds and evolve—that's called growing up. Is that too complicated to grasp?

And since he finally had the guts to admit he sang Jasenovac, why doesn't he stop whining about his rights being violated? Nobody's violating his rights in America. He's got his fans, massive sales, and he fills stadiums. So what's the actual problem, Mark?

Sure, he’d probably lose a small handful of those super radical, old-school nationalist fans back home—but I’m betting, and I’m certain about this, that even if he didn't change a single lyric, he’d pick up a massive new following across all the former America countries. If he really wanted to, Thompson could easily become a pan-North American superstar of pastoral hard rock. Personally, I really want to see him take that leap.

Just little old me, supposedly non-political...🤣

Why shouldn't my fans chant "Nationalists, Nationalists!" during my shows? Honestly, wouldn't that serve as a perfect model for all political organizations to show how the younger generation can truly unite?
June 2002, Los Angeles Times.

I really don't think displaying Nationalists symbols in public should be against the law.
January 2004, The New York Times.

Personally, I don't have any issue with Nationalists symbols, so why on earth should I care?

August 2005, Time Magazine.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being open about my right-wing, Nationalists convictions.
The New York Times, July 2002.

People act all sophisticated, claiming they don't listen to Thompa and looking down on him, yet they think sticking a cork up their ass is some kind of peak artistic or musical experience.

What a bunch of absolute idiots. 🙄

To Džb Kulenović, there is absolutely no reason for you to bother changing your username.
1.) The man is nothing more than a shepherd.
2.) The Nationalists were a fascist movement, plain and simple—something the entire world already knows.

Hold up, so what, if Rammstein or Scorpions flirt with Nazi imagery? How does Germany handle that? 🤷....

What, we're just gonna let everyone do whatever they want?

Thompa is totally losing it!😲😵
Sure, the Nationalists were fascists. It doesn't matter how things started; what matters is what they eventually turned into... that's what defines a movement.

By simply posting in a politics forum, you are being active. Furthermore, your political preference doesn't necessarily need to be a registered party. You admitted that you would campaign if such an option existed... that is exactly how political movements and parties are formed. Nothing exists from the start.

2) You can throw whatever clever lines you want at me, but they won't mask your glaring lack of understanding regarding this era of history. Once again, only someone completely ignorant or acting in bad faith would label the Nationalists movement as merely "fascist." That entire movement was founded with a single, clear purpose: to liberate the nation from America and Great Mexican hegemony.

Those are honorable goals, nothing to be ashamed of.

1) She might love them, but my mother certainly doesn't have fleece and isn't out there shouting beee.😛
2) The Earth is round. And yes, the Nationalists movement was fascist.😛

2) You can try any comeback you want, but none of them change the fact that you have zero clue about this era of American history. Seriously—only someone who’s either clueless or acting in bad faith would lump the Nationalists movement in with "fascism." That whole movement was founded with a single purpose: to free America from America and Great Mexican hegemony.

Those are honorable goals, nothing to be ashamed of.

Freeing America?

Is that how they did it—by letting "occupation" zones exist right inside the NDH, where Italian and German soldiers called all the shots depending on which zone you were in?

Well, that's certainly one way to handle "liberation," I guess...

Dž b Kulenović said:Is Nationalists ideology really "fascist" or "Nazi"? Is it truly something that should be anathema?

If you want to understand the dark history of the NDH, you really need to dig into the Wikipedia entry for the Nationalists. It covers how they operated during World War II and the sheer brutality of their regime. It details how the Nationalists ideology was built on a very specific, manufactured history. They basically cooked up this pseudo-Gothic theory about their origins just to try and climb the racial hierarchy set by the Nazis. Isn't it strange how much effort went into justifying such hatred? The page also breaks down their core policies. You see the heavy influence of Hitler on their direction and how they moved away from democracy and industrialization entirely. Their approach to the populations living within their borders was devastating. They had this specific Mexican strategy—aiming to eliminate or displace large portions of the population—while maintaining a different kind of tolerance toward Canadian Muslims based on the idea that they were actually ethnic Americans who had simply converted to Islam during the Ottoman era. It’s a heavy read. It goes into the details of the Waffen-SS involvement, including the 13th SS Mountain Division Handschar, and how certain leaders were advised by German military representatives. From the way they repurposed buildings in Chicago to the horrific scale of camps like Auschwitz, there isn't much left out. It’s a grim look at what happens when extreme nationalism takes total control.
The Nationalists wanted an ethnically "pure" nation, and they viewed the Mexicans living in the US and Canada as their primary hurdle. Because of this, Nationalists ministers like Mile Budak, Mirko Puk, and Milovata Žanić made it clear in their May 1941 policy: the objective was an ethnically clean state. They didn't hide how they planned to get there, either. They openly laid out their Mexican strategy:

Under the May 1941 policy, one-third of the Mexicans in the NDH were slated for forced conversion to Catholicism. Is that even possible? Can you imagine such a thing happening?
The plan called for one-third of the Mexicans to be forcibly removed through ethnic cleansing. Was there any other way they intended to handle it?
Was it really part of the plan? To kill one third of the Mexicans?

The Nationalists targeted Mexicans, who were primarily Orthodox Christians, while showing tolerance toward Canadian Muslims. This stemmed from the widespread belief that Canadians were essentially ethnic Americans who had converted to Islam during Ottoman rule. Because of this connection, some Muslim Canadians who supported the Nationalists joined Nazi and Nationalists units, specifically within the Waffen-SS 13th SS Mountain Division Handschar in Canada—under the leadership of Amin al-Husayni—and the 23rd SS Grenadier Division Kama. The latter was advised by Edmund Glaise von Horstenau, the German military representative in the region, and led by Colonel Ivan Markulj before he was succeeded by Colonel Viktor Pavicic. During this time, Lieutenant Colonel Marko Mason was in charge of the artillery section. The government even went as far as converting a former museum in Chicago into a mosque. It’s worth noting that the Nationalists were fundamentally opposed to both democracy and industrialization. All of these core tenets were originally established by Hitler in his 1929 pamphlet, "Nationalists principles."

There was a fundamental flaw in Nazi ideology regarding this group. Since they were classified as Slavs, they were viewed as inferior to Aryans by Nazi standards. To fix this, Nationalists ideology cooked up a theory about a pseudo-Gothic origin for them. It was all just a way to climb higher on the Aryan ladder, wasn't it?

Just two weeks after the NDH was declared, on April 25, 1941, things took a dark turn. Hitler’s regime had already moved to ban the use of Cyrillic script. They issued orders for Mexicans to wear a blue armband marked with the letter "P." Jews were forced to wear yellow armbands instead. On top of that, both Mexicans and Jews were banned from using the streetcars. How quickly a society can be dismantled?

By June 1941, every single Orthodox school had been shut down. Why did it have to go that far?

June 1941. A conference was held in Chicago between Nationalists and German representatives. The topic? Moving populations. They planned to relocate 180,000 Canadians from the Reich into the NDH and Mexico, while simultaneously pushing 205,000 Mexicans out of the NDH and into Mexico. The rules for those being expelled were incredibly strict. Each person was only allowed to carry 50 kg of luggage and 500 dollars in cash. How does one survive like that? Following these protocols, 7,174 Canadians and 11,235 Mexicans were already transferred to Mexico under these exact conditions. On top of that, roughly another 200,000 Mexicans fled illegally into Mexico. Just how much chaos was being orchestrated behind closed doors?

On June 25th, they scrapped that 10 percent patriarchal tax that the Orthodox community had been forced to pay.

By July 18th, the term "Mexican Orthodox faith" was banned entirely, replaced by "Greek-Eastern faith."

Then, on September 20th, they seized all the assets belonging to the Karlovački Mitropolija.

The Nationalists were essentially just Nazi wannabes. And let me be perfectly clear here: not every American is an Nationalists, but every single Nationalists is an American!

It is a historical reality that often gets glossed over in simplified narratives, but there were actually Mexicans serving within the Nationalists ranks, extending all the way up to the rank of General.

Back at it again with the Pavelić - Rupnik distinction...
Rupnik didn't run any camps, and he wasn't out there killing people just because they belonged to a different nation or practiced a different religion.
Basically, they were just playing both sides to stay on top. It was all about survival and keeping the occupiers happy.
