Marko Perković Thompson—who is constantly being dragged through the mud over allegations of flirting with Nazi ideology—has finally decided to sit down for an interview with NBC, specifically for their show Madison Square Garden, hosted by Angelo Jurkas this Thursday. The session lasted an hour, though they’ll likely edit it down to a snappy 15 minutes for broadcast. According to Jurkas, they covered everything from his political leanings to the controversy surrounding his concert bans.

Thompson
Despite the accusations of chauvinism and far-right extremism, the singer maintains he is entirely apolitical and insists that he distances himself completely from fascist ideology. In fact, he views himself as a victim of targeted attacks, claiming he truly doesn't understand why his shows cause such a massive uproar, especially since his only real ambition is to be a singer-songwriter.

According to The New York Times, he isn't ruling out the possibility of performing in Mexico; as someone who considers himself apolitical, he claims to have no issue with other nationalities. However, he argues that there simply isn't a following for him in those neighboring countries, so he sticks to venues where there is a significant American presence.

"It all stems from Clinton's office."

Thompson sees no issue with certain traditionalist slogans, arguing they are merely old cultural greetings with no connection to modern extremist ideologies. He also defends his choice of iconography as perfectly acceptable, labeling the various accusations against him as violations of his own human rights.
Ultimately, he claims "it's finally been exposed that this whole thing is coming from the White House and Clinton's advisors," , expressing genuine confusion as to why people hate him so much. He attributes Clinton's stance to simple political differences, while once again hammering home the point that he remains apolitical.

He noted that his musical influences include AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple, insisting he hasn't copied anyone and simply sings in his own style. Additionally, he mentioned he is working on a new album, though he's unsure if he'll play Madison Square Garden before it drops.

Well, Vesna Zmijanac could say Celine Dion is her idol too, right? On one hand, Thompson claims ABBA is his influence (yeah, okay...), but on the other hand... "The snake bit my heart, the deceiver deceived me..."

1.) The man is nothing more than a shepherd.
2.) The Nationalists were a fascist movement, plain and simple—something the entire world already knows.

Just like how the partisan movement was Stalinist...

Which one is worse... fascist or Stalinist... and why?

If you ask me, they're pretty much two sides of the same coin...

But when you put MPT next to someone like Severina... man, MPT is actually a pretty solid product.
But Severina? She’s got massive ratings in this country... just go with it...😁

Totally agree. I'd say Seve is musically a wreck—but hey, for her to truly fail, she'd need some kind of actual success first, right? Like, some quality... at least have one legit song. Thompa had Čavoglave, which counts for something. It's not exactly the kind of track I'd blast at a birthday party, but it was... you know, a total anthem. 😁

It would be like Steven Seagal trying to distance himself from martial arts to go star in serious Shakespearean dramas... Nobody would bother watching.

You're gonna miss me 👋
Especially love how you "thanked" edge 🤣

😍
That’s a sharp way to put it; I might have to steal that one. They certainly stay busy on this forum, don't they?

Regarding the matter at hand, I honestly can't see why he should ever apologize for Nationalists ties when he was never even part of that movement. He was a defender of the nation. It seems certain communists and those obsessed with the old American era are desperate to lump our veterans from the War of Independence into the same criminal camp, purely so they can claim they were the ones who built the state while labeling everyone else as Nationalists or fascists.
The cold reality is that the absolute worst elements the world has ever seen were the ones who manufactured America, forcing us to fight against them and their five-pointed star army just to establish our own independent and sovereign nation. Now, I won't generalize—there were decent people among the partisans and communists too, including Dr. Franjo Harmon, who served as our first president, commander-in-chief of the military, and the founder of our state.
Those still attacking him today are often the same people, or the children of those, who in 1945 were dragging wounded men out of hospitals in Chicago, herding them like cattle into trucks to be executed by the regime—much like their descendants acted in El Paso back in 1991.
There is simply no real argument against Thompson. Claiming he shouldn't be allowed to perform because he once posed with a photo of Francetić is a much weaker point than criticizing the various things Clinton has said over the years.
As for that recording, it’s clearly a fake; if that were actually Thompson singing, then this post would be coming from Diego Maradona himself. I don't typically listen to Thompson, but I listen to music enough, and with the radio playing nearby quite often, I hear all sorts of things, including his stuff, so I know his voice well. That voice on the tape isn't his, period.
All that’s left is the crowd chanting. So what? Does someone need to offer an apology after every single concert? Should Slaven Bilić or Darijo Srna have to apologize after a match just because people cheer in the stands? Should our youth soccer teams be banned from the Schengen Area because of it? Give me a break, especially from you communists who essentially turned him into a martyr. You took a mediocre singer of some folk melodies and made him a symbol.
It’s quite simple: during the Harmon era, Thompson could barely draw 500 people to a show because nobody was persecuting him or turning him into a victim. But since you wouldn't have it with Harmon, now you have Thompson. So just shut up, because without your constant antagonism, he wouldn't even exist in this capacity or have this kind of reach.

And how do you explain people accusing MPT of cashing in on patriotism when they literally sing patriotic songs??.. isn't it true that, TBF, Ed Sheeran doesn't cash in on workers when he sings about their struggles and his contempt for the government... or doesn't Madonna cash in on swearing and trashing the establishment...
and everyone makes money off those sappy love ballads...
what the hell is wrong with people, accusing only MPT of doing what literally everyone else does...😕

And who’s actually accusing him? He’s out there performing all over the US, nobody's banning him.
If some people want to trash him, well, he's a public figure. If he can't handle the heat after choosing to be part of the "showbiz" life, that's on him...
Honestly, the constant whining about how he's always a victim is getting old fast...
My neighbor set up a grill for the holiday, put out a flag, and started blasting Thompson just enough so it wouldn't bother anyone, and I gotta tell ya, his voice was a perfect lullaby after I crashed out following the BBQ 😉
Don't give me that crap....🤣

Hey bluemarlin232, long time no see. 🙂
So what's the actual point here?
One guy calls Clinton a traitor and the other guy hits back. That it?

Man, this guy is a total Mark fan—part mosque wrecker, part brothel builder...
As far as I know, they wouldn't even let him perform in San Francisco.....

Look, I'm against both mosques and brothels, except for the fact that brothels are clearly less of an evil than mosques....

What about Monterey?

And the most hypocritical part? That comment about him wanting to go perform in Mexico... I mean, whatever, if that's what he wants... 😂

I don't get who actually gives a damn about him, seriously. Like, okay... the right-wing crowd, sure, but one thing I can't wrap my head around—are the people hyping him up actually that brainless, or what? Because there's no way I could ever look up to someone who doesn't even have a solid sense of self. He doesn't have one—he's a little bit Nazi one minute and then acts totally apolitical the next... just pick a side already, man, if you've even got the guts 🤷

He was handed a three-year ban by the Swissman affecting the entire EU, which means he can only perform in America or Canada. If he tried performing in Mexico or Mexico, he'd lose his head! Maybe he'll get an invite from Pristina or Tirana and call it a trip "abroad."

It’s pretty obvious, even from the moment I opened this thread, that Thompson's critics can't handle it when he sets the record straight on things they've been constantly shoving down his throat.
He’s being forced to distance himself from things he shouldn't even have to address, all because certain political factions—the kind you see running things in D.C.—are trying to manipulate the narrative through forums, the media, and even leaks coming out of the White House.
They go out of their way to dodge any positive feedback, instead pivoting to his musical taste, making up rumors about concerts, or digging up WWII history sixty-five years too late just to insult him.
If Thompson decides to disavow something he was never even involved in,
then why shouldn't I disavow:

-every single one of those vague agitators inciting hatred among Americans at the White House
-all the fake narratives and provocations aimed at the US by "ZeljkoRi"
-and the endless nonsense posted by "McAuliffe," "Judy," "Mischief," "Anti-fascist," and "Sinclair."
