I’m skeptical that it’s even doable. This is an aging legacy platform, and honestly, it’s probably for the best that it stays exactly as it is; the search function shuts down during peak traffic specifically to prevent the entire server from flatlining.
Try what we’ve been discussing lately—just subscribe to the threads you actually participate in. You’ll still have to scan through the new posts since your last visit, but clicking into a subscribed thread to see recent activity is a hell of a lot easier than digging through everything manually.

Old question, new browser...

So, how do I basically 'stretch' the text to fill the whole screen? I'm using Brave—it doesn't even use a standalone ad blocker since it's already baked right in, I guess...

I honestly have no clue, so maybe someone else can weigh in here. I run into this exact same headache with Safari, which is pretty much why I refuse to use it altogether. 😠

If anyone figures this out, it would probably do us both a massive favor. 😉

Seriously, there isn't a single day where I don't hit an HTTP 504 Gateway Timeout at least twenty times out of thirty clicks. 🤦

An optional user setting isn't going to fix this problem.

Found it.

In that dropdown menu at the top right, there's an option for 'Brave ad block'—just click that, and it'll pull up a settings page. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you can just paste in your magic little formula forum.com##TD[width="300"] and you should be good to go.

Hey there.

My bad if I’m posting in the wrong section; feel free to move this if needed.

So, I posted a thread in the Health section earlier today and now it’s just... gone? What gives?

It’s dragging like a lazy housecat, spending five minutes chewing on a page just to spit out one message

The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

wtf is happening with this site?

My apologies if I've accidentally posted this in the wrong section; please feel free to move it if necessary.

I just started a thread over in the Health section earlier today, and now it’s completely vanished. Does anyone have any idea what's going on??

Just reach out to the moderators in the Health section.

Anyone know why this site's been crawling all day? Pages won't load, everything's lagging, and it keeps crashing.

The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

More importantly, any chance you guys actually fix this soon?

It’s the same old story we've been dealing with for years: server overload. Sometimes it's a minor hiccup, other times it's a total meltdown, and we end up staring at error messages all day.

Sorry, I’m completely lost on how this process works.

I’m sorry, I don't follow the process at all.

Navigate over to the Health subforum. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll see a handful of usernames highlighted in black specifically for PDF matters—think users like lahor, trebor, leeloo27, or Felix the Cat. Just click on one of those names to pull up their profile. From there, select "Send Message," then choose "Send private message to Felix the Cat," type out what you need to say, and hit Send message

Is the forum being intentionally throttled for certain users?

I honestly can't think of any other explanation 🤔

It’s such a strange thing, but when I'm browsing without being logged in, the site feels incredibly snappy, yet the second I sign in using my Kenneth Cruz67 account, everything just crawls along like it's stuck in thick mud, sometimes taking ten whole minutes just to load a single page.

Seriously, what is going on?

I've tried clearing all my cookies, and I even tested it in private windows on both Chrome and Firefox, and even on my phone, everything works perfectly fine until I actually log in with the Kenneth Cruz67 handle. As soon as I'm signed in—bam—the forum slows to a crawl, pages take forever to show up, and I keep getting hit with those "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later" error messages.

It’s probably just some glitch in the system. Someone should have it patched up for you in a few days.

Seriously, my search bar was totally dead for days while everyone else was using it just fine.
I was losing my mind, honestly, but even that eventually sorted itself out. 👍

Anyone got some feedback? Is there a fix for this, or should I just ditch this account and start over?

Every time I try to load this forum, it takes over a minute. I'm constantly hitting timeouts, server overload errors, or getting kicked straight back to the homepage.

And get this—sometimes when I go to log out, instead of the logout screen, I'm looking at some moderator's profile. Usually it's one of the admins. Totally surreal, right?

Happens on macOS, Linux, and Android too. Tried it on Verizon, AT&T, doesn't matter which carrier I use.

cosmicorca16 said:Hey everyone, I could really use some feedback here! Does anyone have any insight on whether there’s anything I can tweak on my end to fix this, or should I just go ahead and start fresh with a new account?

Every single time I try to open this forum, the load time drags on for over 60 seconds! It’s honestly brutal. Half the time I’m getting hit with a timeout error, a "server overloaded" message, or the site just straight-up kicks me back to the homepage without warning. Anyone else dealing with this madness?

It’s happened to me too! Sometimes when I go to log out, instead of seeing the standard logout screen, I get redirected straight to a moderator's profile—usually that one user, z_k. It is honestly so bizarre!

It’s the exact same story whether you're running macOS, Linux, or Android—it doesn't matter which carrier you're using either, be it AT&T, Verizon, or someone else entirely!

Man, I am right there with you! I’ve been dealing with this exact same headache for a solid week now. It is driving me absolutely crazy!
