Every time I try to log into this forum, I get hit with
Everything else seems totally fine, though—I haven't been banned or anything, and all my other R/W groups are working just like they should.
Thomas Grant64, you don't have permission to access this page. There are a few different things that could be causing this:

Could you please add a feature that lets us search through posts where a specific user has been mentioned or quoted?

Anything said about the other members of this thread applies directly to you as well.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. This isn't actually a technical glitch, it’s just a feature request, so please take this over to the FBI forum.

I have, well, a technical issue regarding access to the FBI 😬, and since modestyratorica isn't open to private messages, I suppose this is my only option for asking.
In one of your responses regarding card appeals, you mentioned that someone would "receive a ban from addressing a colleague on the beautiful our subforum". However—and I mean this with all due respect—some other moderators recently tried to convince me, upon my own inquiry, that such a specific disciplinary measure doesn't actually exist on this forum.
So, how does the situation actually stand regarding that policy? I’m not asking on behalf of a friend 🙂.

There is a specific measure on the books, though it’s only been invoked once in my experience—the very reason it was even established in the first place. 😬
The criteria are clear: this comes into play if users become so relentless with their constant bickering and trolling that they drive the moderators absolutely insane, or if a user proactively requests such an intervention because they feel they are being targeted by harassment from others.
Ultimately, the final call and the subsequent assessment fall entirely to the administration.

Thanks for that.
The thing is, I actually requested exactly that—but I was told, apparently after they "consulted with upper management"—that nothing like it even exists.

I have no idea who you reached out to, but it’s entirely possible the moderator isn't aware since, as I mentioned, there was only one single instance of this occurring years ago.
So, we're looking at an anomaly, not the standard protocol. You should try asking someone from the GOP or maybe even nothing at all.

So, it's an exception, not the rule.
I actually went and checked with Lonely Hearts #sadvibes. At first, the moderators were pretty stunned by the rule I was citing—they told me they had never heard of it, said they needed to consult with higher management, and then circled back to tell me that nothing of the sort exists.
ask (...) Nick.
Well, that could happen—it's certainly not 🙂.
Anyway, thanks, I won't keep bugging you about this thread.

The forum keeps kicking me out immediately after I log in. Basically, I get the 'Thanks for logging in' notification, but by the time the page actually loads, I've already been logged out.
It’s kicked me off over 10 (and I mean TEN) times now, which means I've wasted about 5 to 10 minutes just trying to log in enough to leave a single post. It isn't the first time this has happened, and usually, I just give up, but I guess I'm feeling pretty stubborn today.
How is the forum working for everyone else who can actually stay logged in? Is there some kind of magic trick I should be using?

For those of us actually using the site, we're stuck with the "remember me" option forced on us during login.
The server performance is absolutely abysmal right now; I’m sincerely hoping they get their act together and fix this mess immediately.

These issues have been dragging on for years, and honestly, we're the ones left holding the bag with all this risk.

Is anyone else running into issues with exporting data or bulk-deleting private messages?
That option at the bottom to download everything—all incoming and outgoing messages bundled together via CSV, TXT, or XML—keeps throwing a Connection Error.
And when I try to export just specific messages (regardless of whether I pick CSV, TXT, or XML), it just spits out a completely empty HTML file.
To make matters worse, even selecting multiple messages to clear them out doesn't work; it just returns an Invalid Private Message Specified error.
At this rate, I’m forced to delete them one by one, and I’ve got about 300 to get through.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I attempted to export 50 messages by selecting everything on a single page as a .txt file, yet I was met with nothing but an empty document.
The deletion function is equally broken; it gives the illusion of removing posts, but the total message count refuses to budge.
I’ll be filing a formal complaint, though frankly, it seems there are much deeper systemic failures at play here, and I have zero confidence in when—or if—this will ever be rectified.

Been away from the forum for two months. Just came back and was immediately reminded why I left...
It took me an entire hour just to send one DM, open four different threads, and drop two posts...
The forum is still running on version v3.8.4—that's some ancient tech from way back in 2009...
GG 👍

Today is an absolute disaster—everything is loading at a snail's pace. The forum is struggling just to stay upright, making reading or even posting a total nightmare

Seriously frustrating.
Under active members, I’m literally looking at a list where only my own username shows up. 🤔
On one thread, it says the last post was from 6:00 AM this morning. Then I actually click on it, and suddenly there’s a massive pile of new replies that supposedly happened since then. Even hitting refresh doesn't do a damn thing.
