But whatever, that’s all there is to this whole saga, and it really doesn't matter anymore.

I was wondering if there is any way to link two different user accounts together? It’s the same owner for both, but the problem is they’ve completely forgotten the password for the old one. We're trying to dig up some old conversations and messages because we're helping a friend find a date for her boyfriend.

Relying on "remember me" isn't really a fix, is it? It creates a massive security hole, and you definitely shouldn't be using it on public computers—or even private ones if there's any chance someone else might jump on your account.

Tonight around 10 PM, I tried logging in five times in a row and just couldn't get through. It finally worked on my sixth attempt.

The "remember me" thing is just a shortcut; it doesn't actually fix what's happening here.
When things go wrong, even after submitting a ticket through a support portal and waiting a bit, sometimes the report just doesn't show up—even though I saw the welcome message...
If you check Reddit or a similar help page, it looks like the submission went through fine.
But when I head back to the original support page, the request is gone. After trying it a few times, the ticket finally shows up on both the help page and the original request site.
I honestly think these glitches might stop if they didn't keep throwing that red error message at us.

So, apparently, for Emily Myers8, clicking "remember me" does absolutely nothing to fix the issue when using an unfamiliar browser.

It feels like the issue only affects those complaining, making it seem like just a handful of people.
I laid out the exact steps of how this error pops up for me. I’m not looking for a pat on the back, just some decent communication. Whether I'm using Edge or Chrome, it doesn't matter—the error hits regardless of the browser.
After my first attempt at posting on Reddit Help, it didn't go through, but the second one worked fine. This isn't an issue on my end, my browser, or my OS.

My previous outburst wasn't actually directed at you, but rather at the individual posting above you.🙂

This isn't even a technical issue, per se, but let's be clear: user profiles don't just "close" themselves. If you're so fed up with this place that you can't stand being here, just log out of the forum and stop logging back in.

It’s been the exact same story on my end since this morning as it has been for Elon Musk. Honestly, it’s getting pretty frustrating 🙂

Reddit is fundamentally broken.

I can't send messages, quoting is a mess, and the site barely even updates properly.

And don't even get me started on the constant lag and server crashes—we're all just used to it at this point. 🙏

EDIT: Jeremy Johnson18, if you're such a genius, why don't you fix it then?
Hopefully they get their act together soon.

The tax collectors show up whenever they feel like it, and sometimes they don't.
It’s never that straightforward, obviously...

It took me six tries just to get logged in. Then, the second I attempt to click on a thread, it kicks me right back out to the login screen. I’m stuck in this endless loop of having to sign in over and over again. 🙏

I ran into those login issues again today. It’s the same loop: I manage to log in, but then I get kicked out just seconds later, forcing me to try all over again... and it just keeps repeating like that.
Do you think this is a sign the servers are hitting capacity, maybe because there's some kind of temporary user cap in place right now?

Well, it kicked me out again right as I was typing this post. Just so you know, I don't even use the "remember me" option. After getting booted, I spent the next seven or eight tries unsuccessfully attempting to log back in.

Yesterday was an absolutely legendary day for this forum; I suppose every possible disaster decided to show up at once for the party.
