Hey everyone, why am I getting this error on the Index Forum refugee board? loneskipper52, it says I don't have permission to view this page. I guess there could be a few different things going on here:

Dear Casey Bennett,

Yesterday, on a thread that’s already been deleted, I clumsily threw my support behind some petition.

Since there's no 'beep' for regret once it's done, I decided to enable the signature option in my profile...
No, the issue is that while the signature shows up in my profile, it doesn't seem to leave a trace in my actual posts.

Does a signature need to be approved for 'visibility in posts,' or am I just dealing with a technical glitch on my end?

P.S.
While logged in—as I am now—the signature is visible to me;
but only on the 'view post' page, specifically before clicking 'Post Reply'.
Even when logged in, it still doesn't show up in my standard posts.

P.S.2 (not 'PlayStation')
I can see my signature in this thread even when logged out... but it's still missing from other subforums.

Everything's fine now.
I wrote a new post, sent it... and now the signature is visible to me within it. It stays visible even after logging out...

If someone stepped in to help, my thanks—if not, then thanks to whatever cosmic force finally sorted itself out.

No one stepped in to intervene, and honestly, you’d think people would understand that things need a little breathing room to get refreshed. 😁

From what I can tell, signatures seem to only show up starting from the very first post made after you actually enable the setting.
(It won't appear—and likely won't ever appear—in any of your previous posts)

Now that the initial panic has subsided and my head is finally clear enough to think straight, I suppose it’s somewhat normal that previous posts don't "update"... HOWEVER...

...but you probably remember that one alt's changed signature too, which is why there was a "need" to dig through a Google snapshot to see what the page actually looked like... say, back on Sept 15, 2019, at 18:55:16 GMT...
just to "prove" to him that before the change his signature wasn't (come on) following some of the Reddit rules...

The thing is, back then, it wasn't possible to view the original version of a signature (the actual version used when that specific post was written) within older threads; instead, even in older posts it showed the updated one—meaning whatever the latest version of someone's signature was.

Something definitely shifted regarding the "technical side of how signatures are displayed."

Look, there’s been some meddling with the signatures, and all we know for sure is that certain features have been tweaked or scrapped entirely. We aren't being given any actual details.

Even for me, Reddit isn't showing my signature. :/

Could you please look into the login process for forum members? It took me ten tries just to get in today, and honestly, it’s becoming a bit of a pattern.
I also keep getting kicked out mid-sentence. Dealing with this many technical glitches just to access the site isn't really helping anyone, myself included.

I’m going to need you to be a bit more specific here:
Are you trying to log in using your phone or a desktop computer?
Which browser are you currently running?
Have you actually bothered to test this on a different browser yet—if so, which one—and does the exact same thing happen?

Casey Bennett, thanks for getting back to me. I actually posted about this exact issue a while ago. I'm on my computer now, and even after following all the steps, nothing changed. Honestly, I don't think it's a browser issue. I was using Google, but I tried Mozilla a long time ago too.
I'm starting to suspect it isn't my hardware or my search engine at all, but rather an issue on your end. I clear my cookies every time I shut down, and I always wipe my history.
I'll give Mozilla another shot, if only to convince myself and you.
I'll let you know if the same thing happens.

So, I swapped out my search engine, and honestly? Nothing changed. Total wash. Unless, of course, your server is specifically optimized for some niche search engine.

I’ve officially filed the report, so now we just sit around and wait to see if anyone actually bothers to follow up. Honestly, there isn't much else I can do besides pestering Nicole 🥳
. But even she is essentially powerless here, limited to nothing more than sending automated reminders to the technicians.

When I say "you," I’m talking to the tech crew. Sorry for my loose definition of "browser." I meant search engines—you know, Google, Firefox, Safari, and the rest.
Thanks for being so kind. Don't give Nicky a hard time. The owner really should have swapped out Reddit for something else ages ago. I spent years as a member on a different forum myself.
It runs like a Swiss watch, though. The owner has always taken great care of it.
