Tights, stockings...

Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some opaque tights—not the sheer fishnet kind, mind you—in, well, let's call them "vibrant" colors? I'm thinking something like an ochre yellow or maybe a bright fuchsia?

So, I was browsing through the shops over at Import, and I came across this one little boutique—I can't quite recall the exact name, honestly—but they specialize almost exclusively in socks and various bits of lingerie. I have to say, I’m absolutely loving their selection; it's just wonderful.

They’ve switched us over to the new mode... so I suppose we should just start from square one...

Personally, I love wearing bodysuits in the winter. I don't mind at all—actually, I have them in every color. I just throw a long-sleeved shirt over the top, and it looks totally fine.

If it’s sub-zero outside, I just go with thick leggings. They're great.

I'm not a fan of pantyhose, though. They feel super uncomfortable and awkward to wear.

I’m a big fan of tights—specifically the patterned ones. I love them, and I’m big on hold-ups too. If it gets freezing out, I just throw on some thicker tights to stay warm. Honestly, though, last winter was pretty mild here in the States, so I didn't even really need to bother.
Oh, and for the record, Victoria's Secret is my absolute favorite.😁

I only ever wear those thick, cozy fleece-lined tights... you know, the ones with stripes or patterns

I almost never touch sheer pantyhose... and I especially can't stand those annoying knee-highs

I’m right there with you... Honestly, I can’t even wrap my head around the point of regular pantyhose; I don't see any actual purpose for them, whereas I feel like life would be nearly impossible without thick, sturdy tights...🙂 🙂 🙂

If I’ve understood the trends correctly, are fishnets actually back in style? What do you guys think about wearing dark gray ones under a dress? Do you think I can actually pull that off this winter? Maybe paired with some ankle boots?

Aesthetically, it would probably look fine, though you might want to consider how brutal the cold can get... if tights actually help you stay warm, I mean. I used to wear them back in the day, but believe me, anything made primarily of nylon tends to chill you right to the bone rather than providing any actual warmth...👎 👎 👎

and I'll pull some thick jeggings over them too😬

First I go with tights, then socks—some ankle ones—and then thermal socks on top of that. No matter how warm my boots are, winter still feels freezing to me... 😳

But seriously, do tell me... what on earth is the point of wearing those flimsy tights under everything else? It seems entirely redundant...

Personally, I think there’s something really classy about seeing a girl wearing a skirt paired with dark, opaque black tights 😳

Why don't people get the whole point of tights? In the spring—when it’s still too chilly for shorts or capris without socks, and I don't want my shoes rubbing my skin raw—I wear them with my flats. Sometimes just regular socks if the shoes are ballet style.😬

I don't really look at tights or stockings as some sort of way to insulate my feet or kidneys, if that makes sense; rather, I suppose I’m more known for wearing various silly little socks, if you could call them that. I actually have quite an impressive collection of all sorts of colors and patterns tucked away in my closet. I have a real soft spot for colorful wool tights, too, as they tend to be wonderfully warm. 🙂

Hey, did any of you grab those sparkly tights from Topshop or Miss America?
I spotted some gold ones that were super glittery... are they actually worth it?

Technically, autumn hasn't even officially arrived yet, but I found myself reaching for tights earlier today... just some cotton ones for now, I suppose...
