Hi everyone,
I happened to catch a few posts earlier where several women were asking about herbal teas that might offer some relief... well, my sister and I have actually been relying on evening primrose oil capsules for several years now. My sister dealt with a massive ovarian cyst—she carried it around for months, even ending up in the ER because they kept telling her she just had gas, until a gynecologist finally caught it on an ultrasound. I’ve dealt with them too, and since we were both quite young at the time, our mom bought us a few bottles of these supplements, and they completely cleared things up for us. We were dealing with those specific types of cysts that turn brown and just drain when they rupture (I can't recall the medical term, so please excuse me!). My sister took only two or three of those capsules, and the cyst ruptured and drained almost immediately.
Our mom also uses them to shrink or at least keep her liver and breast cysts under control.
Now, I’m not saying this is some kind of miracle cure, and it certainly won't work for every single woman out there, but I wanted to share my own experience since it has worked wonders for me—and even for some of my friends who struggled with ovarian issues. On top of that, evening primrose is fantastic for PMS symptoms; it really helps prevent that bloating, tender breasts, and general irritability.

Hi everyone!

I have a question regarding my mom. She’s 47. A few months ago, she started having really intense ovarian pain. She went to her gynecologist, and they found a fibroid and two cysts—one of which looks suspicious.

She had a CA 125 tumor marker test, and the result was 19.

What should be the next steps after a finding like that? Unfortunately, I don't have the actual report on hand to type out and explain things more clearly.

Does anyone have specific brands or types of capsules? I want to go grab some right away! 🙂

Normal CA 125 levels go up to 35, so that result is fine. Now, she needs to head back to her gynecologist. They will likely refer her for further testing or decide she needs to have the cyst monitored every three months. If it's massive or growing rapidly, they'll just take it out. Also, she should probably get her blood flow checked if she hasn't already.

I am honestly so lost when it comes to these cysts! Two weeks ago, I ended up in the ER because of this intense pain in my lower left abdomen. A surgeon and a gynecologist both checked me out—my own OBGYN had seen me just the day before too—and everyone is insisting everything is totally fine. They ran blood work, urine tests, the whole nine yards, and everything comes back clean!! But I was in absolute agony! The pain finally settled down, only for me to get hit by such a massive cramp a week later that I actually fell off the toilet (I was just sitting there trying to go...). About an hour after the cramp, I started bleeding, though at first, it didn't seem like much. Then, the next day, I had incredibly heavy bleeding with clots. It lasted four days and then just stopped... I have no clue if that was actually my period since the bleeding started four days before my expected cycle, or if it was some kind of cyst that finally burst... but how on earth did they miss it? Now, my left ovary is starting to hurt again and I'm losing my mind. I feel so embarrassed going back to the OBGYN; they'll probably just tell me I'm imagining things. Has anyone else gone through anything like this?! Thanks!

Keep a close eye on your cycle and try to really listen to what your body is telling you during ovulation. It’s actually pretty common to deal with some sort of cramping or even light spotting during that window. I know several women who have dealt with those exact symptoms before.
I’ve personally experienced those kinds of pains a few times myself, and it turned out to be nothing more than ovulation. I even have two friends who ended up in the ER because the pain was just so unbearable—only to find out, of course, it was just miss ovulation.
It doesn't always have to be the case, obviously, but at the end of the day, an ultrasound is really the only way to get a definitive confirmation if something feels off.

So, they were actually checking me out right around my ovulation window, but there's no way that was the cause—I know my body too well for that! This felt completely bizarre. Honestly, the worst part is the cramping and the bleeding that followed; it was heavier than anything I've ever dealt with, and I’ve never had issues with my period before. I guess I'll wait and see, but if things aren't back to normal by next month, I am definitely going in for more intensive testing!

Hi!
Does anyone know where I can get cervical swabs done in Washington, D.C.? I saw Ginić at his private clinic and he diagnosed me with an ovarian infection. He told me I need to get these swabs done ASAP so he knows which meds to prescribe...
Anyone know where in D.C. I can get these through Medicare because doing it privately is absoooooolutely too expensive😢
The thing is, I've never actually seen a gynecologist through Medicare before, and I'm totally short on time since my period is due in a few days and the pain is just brutal...😢
I have a referral from my GP, but they won't accept it at the hospital because it didn't come from a specialist gyno.

Not really, since I was just getting back from vacation... I guess I'll just wait to see how my next period goes. If things feel weird again, I'm heading right back to her. Honestly, I don't care! I pay my Medicare premiums, and it's her job to examine me if I want—even if I show up ten times a week!!!

Carol, honestly, your best bet is just to book an appointment with a gynecologist. You can usually get it all done in a single visit—if it's urgent, they can run those swabs right then and there!

Try going to a local community health center. Explain the situation and ask them to register you as a patient there.

Hi! About four days ago, I started experiencing this sudden, absolutely horrific pain in my ovaries, which is strange because I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. Since then, the ache has sortled spread across my entire abdomen, feeling almost like that intense muscle soreness you get after an exhausting workout. I spent the whole night vomiting and felt incredibly weak. I eventually went to see my doctor, and at first, she was convinced I had just messed up my stomach with something I ate. She prescribed some pills that were supposed to ease the discomfort, but honestly, they didn't help one bit. Now, the pain has localized to my lower abdomen; I can barely sit or walk normally because there's this constant sense of pressure and aching. It even hurts whenever I have to use the restroom—it feels like something is just... in the way down there. On top of all this, my period arrived early, maybe ten to fifteen days ahead of schedule, so now I'm just waiting for this to pass before I head to the gynecologist. I suppose I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with anything similar, or if perhaps someone might have some helpful advice?

Thanks a million 🙂

About two months ago, my gynecologist informed me that I was dealing with some vaginal inflammation. She prescribed Dalacin and Rojazol, but since those didn't seem to do much, I decided to try applying a certain solution directly to the affected area three separate times over several days. I had my follow-up yesterday, and she assured me that everything seems perfectly fine now. However, during the day, I started experiencing this strange uterine pain—I'm honestly not quite sure how to articulate it properly. Perhaps the best way to describe it would be... well, it feels as though my ovaries aren't quite "securely attached," if that makes sense? For instance, when I jump or make any sudden movements, I get this sensation that things are shifting around inside me. I realize that’s probably not a clinical description, but... I just don't understand why this is happening, especially since I was supposedly cured of the inflammation. I should also mention that about three weeks ago, intercourse was painful; the sensation was very similar to what I'm feeling now, and at the time, the doctor suggested it was just due to the infection. Has anyone else dealt with something similar, or does anyone have any advice? Thanks Saloma

I'm not totally sure what you're looking for specifically... The pain? Honestly, I feel that exact same pain you're describing, it pops up for all sorts of reasons and it’s just like this weird jumping sensation inside, almost like an egg is bouncing around in there 😲
But the pain is one thing, did your OB-GYN actually give you a reason for the infection? Even if she claims it's cleared up, I don't get why you're still feeling it, though I guess us women can feel pain even when everything supposedly looks fine on paper...

My gynecologist mentioned that the issue was essentially an inflammation triggered by some bacterial activity. During the exam, the lining appeared quite inflamed and red, but once I finished the prescribed course of treatment, that irritated area basically just shed away, and everything seems fine now. I should probably mention that I tend to feel some discomfort a few minutes after an exam, though I suppose I attribute that mostly to being incredibly tense during the procedure itself. I’m feeling much better today, I guess, but I can't help feeling a bit anxious about whether the pain might return during or after intimacy. 😢

Jessica, it sounds to me like you might have a ruptured cyst, and if that’s the case, it could potentially lead to sepsis. You should really see a gynecologist and ask them for a hospital referral if necessary, because if it turns into sepsis, it can be life-threatening!

Hi, maybe I'm overthinking this... my friend had clear cysts on both ovaries; she said they seemed to have "opened up." Her doctor prescribed some expensive medications. Then, after a week, her period started, and now she thinks the cysts might have ruptured. If anyone has experience with this, what’s your take? What should be the best move right now?

"Cysts" is actually a bit of a broad term—you really have to look at what they actually are, how many there are, and, obviously, get a clear picture of the hormonal profile. If there’s a high volume of cysts on both ovaries—looking like little black dots or maybe a wreath of tiny dark beads—then we’re likely talking about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). In that specific case, they aren't technically "cysts" in the traditional sense, but rather follicles that just happen to mimic the appearance of multiple cysts. Honestly, I don't know if we're dealing with simple fluid-filled cysts, "chocolate" cysts, common adhesions, or just these follicular clusters. I also can't be sure which medication is being used to induce ovulation—whether it's a specific trigger shot or if she was just prescribed some birth control or Duphaston. Regardless, the smartest move is to run a full hormone panel first to see where things stand (assuming there's even an issue) so that any treatment isn't just guesswork. 🙂

Hi everyone... I was hoping someone could weigh in here. My periods have been irregular since the very beginning; I assumed they would eventually settle down on their own, but that hasn't happened. Back in February, I saw my gynecologist for some hormone testing and an ultrasound. She told me everything looked fine but did find a functional cyst. During my follow-up, she mentioned the cyst had cleared up, said it wasn't anything serious, and assured me my cycle would stabilize over time. It seemed to improve for a bit, but nothing is consistent—now I'm already 20 days late. My question is: could these cysts be causing the delay, is it a hormonal issue, or is it just happening for no specific reason?
I'm honestly a bit anxious about whether these cysts might impact my ability to conceive. If I manage to get rid of them, will that help? Basically, I want to know if having cysts reduces the chances of getting pregnant... I'm planning to head back to Ginić's office soon to get a clear answer.
Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, and thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond.
