M&S should have exactly what you're after—at least according to their site, they've got some new stuff in stock. Though, who knows what actually made it to the local shelves here... 🤷
You might also get lucky at Peek & Cloppenburg.

I first stumbled upon them on eBay, but it looks like they're available right here too: http://www.lindybop.co.uk/index.asp. So, for anyone out there who's into that vintage look. 😉
They go up to a US size 18.
Oh gosh, you really shouldn't have posted this 🙂
—honestly, you already picked out a few pieces, including that one specific dress you've been hunting for a long, long time. 😍

Man, I almost went out and bought another one like two weeks ago for an upcoming wedding—even though I already have an outfit picked out for it. 🤣 I just got a little offended—honestly, caught me off guard for a second there. 😬 😳
I’m still thinking about those dresses—you know, the ones that are actually tailored, pretty, and a decent length? Not the "can see my underwear" kind you find on ASOS. I honestly don't get what their deal is with those micro-shorts—it's like they have some weird obsession with making everything impossibly short. 🙄).
My only real gripe is that these are cut for people with wider hips than chests—and honestly, I’m the exact opposite. 😢 I’m a little worried about the fit—if I buy based on these measurements, everything might end up floating on me, and then the bottom part turns out way too wide. But I think I'll grab one just to try it out. Hopefully, another wedding pops up soon. 😂 (Well, at least I have a "legitimate" photo now).
If you end up ordering some, let me know how they are. 😉

I was actually hunting for a dress for a wedding recently—narrowing my search down to just three options from ASOS—but none of them were quite 😍
. 😍 Instead, I found this one that is absolutely 😍
.
Now, the real dilemma: how on earth do I explain to my husband that I genuinely need a new dress 🤔
?
Oh, and do you think they would still look decent without a petticoat?
Also, I completely agree with you—ASOS seems obsessed with short dresses. Even when they offer a "longer length" option, the selection is laughably slim. Honestly, I think 14 inches is the longest anything goes for 🙄

I guess I could. 🙂

I usually go for those longer pencil skirts—back when I was 18, I stuck to the longer lengths too. I don't pay much attention to the "Curve" line, so I'm not even sure if they carry anything long in that specific range. But even then, most of what they call "midi" can actually be made a bit longer upon request—though honestly, even their "standard" lengths feel pretty long on me, at least the ones I own. As for the short skirts? I haven't seen a single one where they offer any extra length. And then they have the nerve to use models who are about 5'6"—on them, those skirts look tiny. If I tried wearing those, I’m pretty sure my underwear would be visible to everyone. 🤣 Honestly, their selection is just lacking—nothing even comes close to being knee-high. Well, my knee, anyway. 😁).
That’s really my only gripe with those British shops—they seem to cut everything for shorter women. For instance, Pepperberry There are some dresses that would look great on me—they’re even listed in their "Super Curvy" section specifically for us girls with bigger busts—but honestly, what's the point when their sizing is clearly designed for someone who's 5'5"? 😢I'm built like a mid-length skirt—everything is just too short for me. Even when I shop at places like Loft, the sleeves are always hitting too high and the pant legs are way too short. It’s basically a struggle everywhere I go. 😢Look, I don't mind their summer stuff too much—it’s alright—but I think I’ll struggle to find anything for my winter wardrobe there. ASOS actually hits the mark for me when it comes to midi skirts, trousers, or tees... they’re honestly pretty solid in that department. But those micro-minis? And the lack of actual skirt options? Not really my vibe. 👎

Oh, let me jump in and add another dress recommendation for all you vintage enthusiasts out there!

Their sizing goes up to a 3x (US 18), and they ship over to the States!
I actually worked on a photoshoot for them, so I know the fit pretty well, and our models were all quite tall—ranging from about 5'7" to 5'10"... 😁

I didn't notice any variation in length within the Curve line either 🤷
, but when you see those dresses fluttering around on skinny models—and almost none of them reach the knee—it makes me realize how much better they'd look on me, considering I actually have curves compared to them 😕. 😂
And I won't even dwell on what happens when I actually sit down 😂—I'm certain everything would just ride up and expose far too much 😂.
I forgot to mention this yesterday... anyway, you mentioned your struggle with these vintage dresses
where you have to size for your bust and worry they'll billow out too much around the hips. This specific dress I'm looking at doesn't even list hip measurements, so I suspect the hips aren't a major factor—it's meant to drape similarly on everyone. Usually, only the tight-fitting ones are a real concern regarding hip measurements 😉.

Hey everyone—does anyone know where I can pick up something like a compression undershirt or a bodysuit in the States? Not looking for a full-blown corset or anything—just something to smooth things out a bit 🤔. I did some searching and saw they have some at Target right now, but I have a feeling they’ll fly off the shelves, and honestly, I’d rather try it on first. I thought about checking Macy's, but besides that, I'm drawing a blank. I need this for next week, obviously 🤦. And I really don't want to drop more than $67 🙂 on it.

Subject: Quick question regarding my recent order Hey there, I was just looking over my records and realized I’m not quite sure about the status of some items from my last order. Could you guys take a quick look and let me know what’s still outstanding or where those missing pieces might be? Thanks for the help—much appreciated! 😉

dustycyclist72 said:I was looking over the strap dimensions myself—and honestly, those measurements just don't sit right with me. They feel incredibly off. 🤷
Let me know once they arrive. 😉
The belts arrived yesterday. Here's the report:
- Sizes 24-26—the first hole is at 102 cm, and the last one is at 115 cm.
- Regarding numbers 20-22—this one doesn't have any holes because it’s a knit style, so it kind of "snags" into the weave—but it’s only about an inch shorter than the larger size.
I think I’ll finally bite the bullet next time—gonna order the Large from the regular line. 🤣. 😳

Call it what you want—I know people track non-food items based on whatever’s currently in stock. But honestly? I’d much rather go somewhere where I can actually test things out on the spot (I realize you can return stuff at Target, but still)—so if anyone has any suggestions, I’d appreciate it 🙂.

Maybe this thread might help you out. 😉

Looks like some of the numbers are running a little long—and a little short, too. They usually run a little large, if you ask me—and honestly, those bottoms? Way too short.
If you aren't (pre)tall, then they probably won't be short.
Thanks, that actually helped 🙂.

H&M actually carries something pretty similar http://www.hm.com/hr/subdepartment/L...#Nr=4294897903

Oh my gosh, you did a shoot for Voodoo Vixen?? 😍😍😍
I absolutely adore them.
Plus, unlike most other retro brands, they aren't quite as (extremely) pricey.
#1079 ·
Oh, absolutely! 😁
I’ll be starting one more project very soon... probably for the fall/winter season...
By the way, Voodoo Vixen actually has an American woman working in their office, so if you ever need to send them an inquiry or anything via email, you can totally just write in English and she'll get you sorted... 😬
