I’m also looking for some heavy-duty black wide-leg jeans. Nothing skinny, nothing tapered, and definitely not straight fit; I need a true wide-leg or bootcut silhouette. Ideally, denim that doesn't wash out immediately. I actually found the perfect cut on the DP website once, but they faded way too fast and now they aren't even in stock anymore. 🙂

I know those DP jeans you mean. I checked them out myself, but the reviews said the color bleeds too fast, so I passed. Anyway, I happened to be at Target the other day and snagged a size 16—though honestly, I’d probably call it a size 18. They’re a really light wash, bootcut style. Since I have a pear shape, they actually fit great; tight at the waist and roomy through the hips. I got them for just $23, which was already the third markdown. The original price was $75. I spotted some dark blue ones there that looked almost identical to these for $57, but those weren't on sale. I bet they have black ones too, but I wasn't looking. So, maybe go check them out. My neighbor usually shops at Macy's, but I think their cuts are more for an apple shape—better for women with more of a bust or midsection.

I'm totally on Team Pear. I suppose I'll check out the local news archives; maybe I can dig up something juicy. 🙂 Thanks 🙂

Look, I’m definitely built like a pear—weak up top, but the stomach and hips? Yeah, they're definitely there.🤣🤣
But hey, I’m rocking a US size 16, so what can you do?

Nice blouses, Scott Howard74.

Got this jacket in the mail this week:

Found this article, looks like we both bought what they're recommending, I guess.😲 😁

Where you ladies at? What have you picked up lately?
Just wandering through some online shops, clicking those links posted here, and I stumbled upon this gorgeous jacket. Totally fell for it. Has anyone actually ordered from this site before?

I think this dress is beautiful, but those two "shirts/tunics" are just awful. They look totally old lady.

Lisa Myers said:It’s obvious to me... I’m just saying—you can't wear a shapewear garment under a swimsuit or anything like that. Especially not on your legs. And look at these legs in the photos, they are absolutely perfect 🤣.

By the way, I admire how you can actually stand wearing that. I couldn't do it. I would lose my mind from the heat, especially in the summer. Plus, shapewear isn't magic. And like I said before—there is no such thing as leg shapewear... honestly, there isn't even stuff for upper arms... maybe for a double chin, but that's about it...

Photoshop 🙂

But regarding swimsuits, if anyone is interested, Victoria's Secret has those 'tummy control' suits with built-in shapewear.

Plus, they just make you look heavier than you actually are.🙂
Clothes should be tailored—not baggy.🙂

If anyone happens to be shopping at LadyXXL over in Chicago, or maybe if you're passing through somewhere like Indianapolis, I just heard that they're running a cash discount sale where you can save up to 40%. It might actually be worth making the trip if their specific styles happen to catch your eye. I guess you could say their selection is a little bit baggy and lacks a certain structure, but if that sort of fit works for you, then by all means, go ahead and take a stroll through the aisles...

Ugh. Why do they post these amazing photos if you can't actually buy anything? Total waste of time. 😢(

I've ordered from Yours Clothing a few times now—everything from basic daily wear to fancy tunics and even a little coat—and honestly, I've had nothing but good experiences. The quality is solid, the sizing actually fits like it should, and I find myself reaching for their stuff all the time.
Just ordered this little jacket:

Yeah, I'm with you—there's definitely a better selection of cuts for women out there. That one on the left is way too baggy for her, honestly—she’d look much sharper in a smaller size, maybe with a different necklace to pull it all together.

Thanks for chiming in. Seems like the stuff is great to me, too. Is it true what they say on the site about shipping being $8 for up to 12 items? If so, I guess it makes sense to just bundle everything together at once if possible. Do they ever run extra promos, like discount codes or free shipping deals?
Also, I’ve got a sizing question. I usually wear a US 14, but looking at the conversion chart next to the clothes, it says that’s a UK 16, though normally a 14 is a UK 18. So, which one should I actually grab?

Good morning. 🙂

I have a question regarding ordering clothes. How should I go about selecting the right size when my build doesn't quite follow the "standard" proportions? For instance, my hips are narrower than my bust, and there isn't much of a difference between my waist and my hips. If I were to choose a dress that fits my bust and waist perfectly, it would end up being over ten centimeters too large around the hips. 🤷

I see so many people ordering everything online these days, but personally, I just don't have the nerve for it. If I can't actually feel the fabric—not to mention check if the fit is right—I simply wouldn't dare. I used to shop with Neckermann occasionally, but really only because they were a local staple and offered free returns. I eventually realized their sizing ran much larger than our standard American sizes, so I ended up returning things quite frequently, which felt like such a waste of time. Honestly, I just don't trust international shipping or the return process; even with domestic brands, it feels like it takes forever, and I really don't have the patience for that.

I would love to hear some recommendations for spots in the city where one might find a decent piece of clothing in an XLL size... perhaps it would be a good idea to start a dedicated thread for online XXL clothing shopping as its own separate discussion...?

As for the Lady XXL boutique, there isn't much left in black... they have some cotton tees, maybe a few short-sleeved blazers, and mostly pants in the larger sizes, starting from a US 18 or 20 and up...

Check out the discount department store over on Main Street; they’ve got XXL for both men and women, and they just marked everything down.🙂

Ugh, sorry for the delay—totally spaced out on checking this. 😳

Yep, shipping is £8. For those in the US, they occasionally do free or discounted shipping, but for everyone else, it’s pretty much standard.
I usually just grab a bunch of stuff at once, especially when things hit the sale section.
They have clearance sales pretty often—just gotta be quick, though, because sizes vanish almost instantly.
I’ve always stuck to the standard conversion (so you’re probably looking at a UK 18/US 14), and it’s worked fine for me. But honestly? Read the reviews. It all depends on the cut and whether you prefer a tight fit or something more relaxed. Also, the catwalk videos are actually a lifesaver—it helps to see how the fabric moves on a model (even if most of them are built way tougher than us, just a heads-up 😉 ).

That’s gorgeous. I was actually torn between that one and the $45 version. In the end, I just went all out and ordered vests, tees, and everything else. I live for the ASOS and New Look clearance sales. XD
