Hey ladies 🙂 Sorry to crash the party here, but I honestly didn't know where else to ask and I’m really hoping someone might actually have an answer for me. Does anyone know where I can find decent large bras in a place like Chicago—ideally something comfy (I'm pregnant, so comfort is my absolute priority right now) and under $50? My bust is sitting at about 43 inches now and it looks like the growth spurt has finally stalled, so I think I might be able to move into a "normal" bra soon. Right now, I'm just surviving in XXL sports bras.

Also, I'm on the hunt for some white or beige tops—nothing too heavy, just light, breathable cotton blouses or tees. Sleeves are fine, or no sleeves, whatever. I definitely need plus sizes, though. I don't want anything tight against my skin; I need that summer breeze flowing through everything to keep me sane. 🙂

Lisa Myers, honestly, halter tops are a way better choice than strapless ones, and it's not even just about how they look. You can wear them all day without feeling crushed, whereas with strapless stuff, we all know that miserable feeling after just a few hours. 😉 A good halter top isn't exactly cheap, but listen, my La Perlin one has lasted me five whole years. Besides, it's way easier to find cute, affordable halter tops than it is to find decent, cheap strapless ones. And I swear, on everything, halter styles hold up way longer than tights or strapless tops—I don't have the scientific data to prove it, 🙂 but it's a solid investment that saves you money in the long run.
And sorry for the total random tangent, but did you happen to stop by Target and maybe ask a clerk about those coconut macaroons I was looking for?

You can find cheaper options, and if you need deep cups, check out H&M, Target, or C&A. Though, I don't know what your band size is... if you have a small ribcage, C&A might be tough since they usually start at a 36 or higher. And at Target, finding anything deeper than a D cup is pretty rare, but you might get lucky with 🙂

winter clothes

Lidl
white or beige, natural fabric, thin, light blouses or tops—sleeved or sleeveless, whatever length works

I mean, maybe not Kik, but you can actually find some decent stuff at Lidl sometimes if you're lucky
😍

Ladies, I have a question. Is there anyone here who is particularly tall—maybe around 5'11"—and looking for leggings that actually reach the ankles without being too short? 🤷 🙂 If you could point me in the right direction, I would truly appreciate it. 😁

Target carries leggings in larger sizes, so I'm guessing they might be longer too. I wear a size 18/20, I'm about 5'10", and they work fine. Though, honestly, I just wear them under pants in the winter with socks, so I don't really know if they'd feel too short if I wore them on their own... maybe.

What's the damage at Lidl though? Like, what's the price tag?

I haven't really checked what the prices are sitting at over at Lidl lately, but last time I was poking around their aisles, everything seemed to be hovering somewhere in the 50-$20 range, I guess. Something like that. Honestly, though, finding out about Lidl was a total game-changer for me.

And it isn't just Lidl, either—you’ve gotta check out Kik too. Yeah, seriously. They have some absolutely killer deals on stuff, probably hitting that max level of savings too, maybe even up to $33!

I actually spotted some large-size tights at TJ Maxx yesterday—they had a huge variety of colors and everything was on sale.

Need some advice—I’m looking for a dress or maybe some trousers and a blouse that actually looks classy (like, for job interviews and stuff), size 14, but I don't want to look like I've given up on life, you know? Still wanna look young! I popped into Marks & Spencer because I knew they had a "workwear section," but honestly... everything there looks like it was designed for my grandmother. Total snooze fest. And H&M's plus size line is a disaster right now because since it's spring, it's just endless piles of denim and linen... nothing professional at all. Ugh. I have no clue where else to check that won't absolutely bankrupt me. Help.

A business shirt is a classic staple.
Usually just solid colors—collared, standard sleeves, maybe 3/4 if you're feeling it.
Anyone wearing one is going to look professional, regardless of how old they are.
Marks & Spencer has those basic models that actually last for years.
But here's the thing: when it comes to business attire, the details are everything.
If your office vibe allows for it, throw on a nice, subtle necklace or a scarf.
Even a brooch on a blazer lapel works as a sharp little touch.
Shoes need to be modest and solid-colored too. Heels are fine—just don't go for anything outrageous or open-toed.
Otherwise, there’s really no other way to soften the stiffness of formal wear.
Plenty of workplaces have dress codes—like at a federal courthouse, you can't show up in sandals or tank tops, which, honestly, makes total sense.

It’s not about being stuck in some rigid dress code—you can show up to court in sandals, heels, or even colorful flats, paired with a knee-length skirt or patterned tops... or even suspenders and sheer fabrics, or a short coat. You don't have to stick strictly to "classics" just to look professional and polished. Just don't go overboard. Unless, of course, they demand strict adherence to the rules. Though, honestly, I think those outdated business etiquette standards should be updated too. I don't know how I'd survive having to wear closed-toe shoes in the middle of a summer heatwave—with or without socks😱
. Of course, the men around here love to point out that if they can handle shoes, socks, and ties, we should be able to do the same!😁

You can't just roll up to the federal courthouse in sandals.
Business etiquette exists for a reason—period.
Besides, if every single male colleague around me is decked out in suits and ties, how am I supposed to look or feel without a suit?
Casual wear—and especially jeans—just isn't meant for strict professional settings, particularly not for the Court.

And meanwhile, that lawyer is off somewhere having her fun😁

I’d personally love to see them implement a casual Friday—just so I could actually wear jeans for once. You know, just throw on a blazer, a nice blouse, and some heels😍
Whenever there aren't any clients around😉

Oh, sure, but trust me—nobody is going to take a lawyer or a judge seriously if they show up in denim or leggings.
In this case, just like most others, a suit actually makes the professional.
Dress codes exist for a reason, and unfortunately, plenty of people don't get that—they need guidance.
So I'll say it again: you can't go wrong with the classics; they always work.

Oh, great... more trap queens. And what's next—"Please, ma'am, take this 50-year-old"?

🙂

Let's just stop this right now.😁

Maybe these photos will make it clearer. Look, I get it—classics are classics for a reason, and they’re usually what HR wants you to wear at the office. But honestly? I feel like I’m constantly running into the same wall of pure boredom:

I just want something even slightly more modern or stylish... you know, anything that isn't strictly "old school corporate." It doesn't have to be jeans right away, but hopefully, you can see the vibe I'm going for.

Could you maybe say how the sizing is at H&M? Like, a little comparison.
I haven't gone yet, so I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth the trip. Also, does anyone know which stores in the city actually carry the plus-size line? I know they don't have it everywhere.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned these sites before
http://www.evans.co.uk/ and
http://www.newlook.com/

They ship to the States, but the shipping costs are kind of brutal. I think New Look has free shipping if you hit a certain amount. Usually, some girls on here end up teaming up to place a big order together to save money.

Has anyone been to Lindex? Just wondering what their selection and sizing is like.
