Patrick Phillips said:Attention everyone! I’m currently looking at some Dorothy Perkins pieces (specifically the CC1 line, I absolutely adore them!)
I believe they have sizes ranging up to a 48 or maybe even a 50.
If anyone is in urgent need of a larger size—maybe you're starting a new diet for your health and need a better fit—please let me know ASAP!

...once these preachers start showing up here!
Look, I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think anyone here actually needs your or anyone else's dieting advice.
Do you honestly think we don't know that eating better is good for us?
Unless you've walked a mile in my shoes, you don't get to judge.
So, I’d highly recommend you hold back on those kinds of comments in the future... we're all just doing the best we can. 🙄

There are massive sales going on at Macy's right now, though I guess "big" is subjective, isn't it? I was there hunting for something for a wedding, and honestly, they had some gorgeous, formal pieces marked down quite a bit. But everything was a size 12, 14, or larger—way too big for me, I suppose. I actually spotted this killer black dress with an American neckline, maybe a classic V-neck or something, but it was a size 14. Still, it was only about $30, which is a steal, I guess.

I'm looking for pretty much anything except Maxi Poker, Gjuro XL, or those random mail-order catalogs...

Alright, let me apologize if you felt insulted out of line...
However... I still stand by what I said...
I am firmly against both being underweight and being overweight (unless there are medical reasons involved, like hormonal imbalances or thyroid issues), and it breaks my heart to see people compromising their health in any way, whether they are doing it to themselves or not...
Also, I misspoke when I used the word "diet," because that's such a flawed way to approach weight loss. The real key is proper nutrition—basically, eating that is tailored specifically to the individual...

Alright, let's get real here... where are you guys actually buying clothes?
I’m usually busy grinding as a regular Maxy Poker subscriber, but I spent last night scrolling through some shops and honestly, the prices nearly gave me a heart attack. Since spring, everything has gone through the roof—just basic, everyday stuff. 😲😁

So, where can I find an actual decent piece of clothing that isn't just black, gray, dark brown, or navy blue?
Or one of those unavoidable vertical stripes.😱
Or a cut designed specifically for women over 60...

Honestly, these "concerned" busybodies do more damage to my mental health than all the food I eat or the pounds I carry combined.😛😁
Sweetie, we are talking about clothes here.

But I have to say this:

I’ve been on the heavier side for as long as I can remember, and here I am pushing forty with perfect bloodwork—no high cholesterol, no sugar spikes, my blood pressure is just how it is, no PCOS, and my heart only acts up when I get too distracted...😁

And when some health catastrophe finally catches up to me, it’ll happen at the age when everything else starts failing anyway.

Besides, if I’m going to kick the bucket, I’d rather go out enjoying life.😂

So, I’m asking nicely—you and anyone else with your little crusade: if you actually know where to buy clothes in plus sizes, let me know and thanks.
If you don't, then spare us all the unsolicited advice about "making changes."

Because some people can't change, and some people simply don't want to.

Get it?

PS. Don't get mad.😉

Hey! If you're heading toward Maximilian Park, there’s this little shop and tailor right on Maximilians Avenue—just to the left of the path. It's tucked away just past that Jordan's place!
About a month ago, they had some really great finds at super reasonable prices! I actually picked up a little something for myself that was such a steal.
I think there was something similar happening over in Petrinja too, though unfortunately, I can't quite remember which part of town it was!

Honestly, I have no idea how many times I’ve repeated myself already—my bad! 😂 👍
I’m definitely not an expert—not a pro or anything—but whenever my colleague finds these amazing deals at reasonable prices, I’m all in! For instance, finding a great shirt for like $15 feels like a total steal to me. Such a win! 😍

Well, back when I moved...😁
Regarding that Osterajh thing... where exactly?
Like, downtown... a shop in the city center... something like that...🤷 😁

Oh yeah... thanks anyway.😍

Hey, Gerald Kern77! I’ve been scrolling through these threads and noticed we barely talk about clothes for curvy girls (like, maybe 20 extra pounds or so😢)—not that you guys aren't all built like supermodels! I’ve got a little extra weight here and there, and honestly, half the time I walk into a store and leave feeling as mad as a dog because they don't even carry my size! And look, I actually want to dress stylishly, not just hide under oversized sacks and baggy tees.
And don't even get me started on fashion magazines—they never feature anyone with curves! My personal take? Maybe curvy women are willing to drop more cash on nice stuff, but there’s nowhere to actually buy it. Or is there? Like, if you were in a place like Chicago, for example, would you find anything? (Aside from the big department stores like Macy's).
What’s your experience with shopping online? For instance, when I go on sites like Amazon and search for my size, I just see bags, shoes, belts, and socks, but zero actual clothes. I’m not really into those "plus-size" catalogs meant for huge people because I’m not *that* big, but I’m definitely not tiny either. So now what? Am I supposed to just sit at home in my sweats forever?😕

So, I was wondering if any of you guys have ever ordered anything from Dorothy Perkins online, or maybe you’ve picked stuff up from them in person at a mall somewhere? I’m having a bit of a crisis with sizing... basically, I’m stuck hovering right between two different sizes, so I gotta know: are their actual measurements (like, in inches) actually legit compared to what they list on the website?

I’ve got my eye on this absolutely gorgeous dress, but now I’m just overthinking everything... honestly, it’s not even a huge deal if it shows up a little big—I can always make it work or take it in—but if it comes in too small? Yeah, that’s where we hit a major snag...

The sizes are standard. Honestly, my brain tells me to just go one size up. I ended up buying two pairs of jeans—I usually wear a 38, but I grabbed a 34 instead.

I mean, yeah, you can order stuff online, but then I realized later they don't even ship to America. It’s only certain countries where they actually deliver, like Italy or Germany or whatever...

Does anyone know where the closest actual store is? And I don't mean the local ones near me—the people at my neighborhood branch in Chicago basically told me they don't carry the full stock because they only get small shipments, especially for larger sizes. I’m looking for a spot that actually has the same variety you see on their website and won't leave me hanging on sizes.

Hey,

I’m curious—where do curvy girls in the States shop for clothes that actually look cute and modern, rather than looking like something out of a catalog for grandmas? I’m relatively new to this whole "plus-size" thing myself; I never really gave it much thought before I hit a certain weight. I see gorgeous women on the street wearing such stylish outfits that I honestly want to stop them and ask where they get their stuff, but I’m a little too shy to actually do it. 😬

Just to be clear, I’m talking about truly curvy women—we're looking at the 180-200+ lbs range and up. I’m sitting at about 185 lbs at 5'7"... so I can barely squeeze into a size 14, and I'm usually hovering around a 16 or 18. Places like Zara or similar fast-fashion spots don't carry my size. Right now, I've been getting tops from places like Topshop and some pants from Amadeus, but I haven't really ventured much further.

What I’m most interested in finding is a good pair of XXL jeans that actually fit properly and look decent.

thanks

My sister is placing an order through Neckermann for some denim—jeans and trousers, I believe. They carry sizes up to 40, if I recall correctly... 😁

On another note, I happened to spot an "XXL" women's shop over in Dubuque. I’ve never actually stepped foot inside, but my intuition tells me it’s likely overpriced, outdated, and frankly, not worth the effort... 🤷

A bit on the heavier side—around 175 lbs at 5'4". I've got thick, sturdy thighs.
too much. 🙂 Two years ago, I struggled with finding clothes that actually fit my frame.
The quality was pretty subpar—not exactly high-end stuff—until he opened up Joker, that is.
There’s a Tom Tailor in that mall. I know you’re asking about Chicago, but they likely have a location there too—just some guidance. We share the same sizing; I usually grab a 46 or 48. Their sizing runs large, though—the clerk mentioned they use German standards—so I fit into a 42 in trousers and a 31 or 32 in jeans. They even carry shirts with stretch for my curves. Prices for pants are... $150Jeans were $549, shirts around $200 to $300, and that last T-shirt I picked up? It cost... $50The line is mostly athletic, though there are some more elegant pieces. The quality is genuinely high and holds up well—especially the denim and trousers. To be honest, my pants from Gap always seem to tear or wear out way too fast, whereas stuff from LL Bean lasts much longer. I’d rather pay a premium for something durable than waste money on cheap items that fall apart immediately. As for bras, I stick to Triumph.
Hope I was of some small assistance.

My apologies if this topic has come up before, but I had no luck finding it in the search function.

To be blunt, I am struggling to find clothing in larger sizes—specifically trousers. I wear a size 12. While I have a slim build, weight loss isn't an overnight process, so I need something wearable in the interim. Up until now, I’ve been shopping at Macy's because they occasionally carry up to a size 16, but their current selection is a complete mess; the cuts are terrible. I honestly don't know who they are designing for anymore.

So, I'm wondering: where else in the city can I buy large-sized pants that feature a standard cut (meaning they aren't high-waisted, etc.) without breaking the bank?

Thanks.🙂
