hollowmarlin49 said:Can't find any pants at Macy's today, my basket just won't cooperate with size 44. But shirts and tops? Always plenty. I've got such a great figure, you girls are gonna be jealous. Found something cute for my top, but pants and shorts... total lottery...

Actually, both Macy's and Black & Decker carry pants up to a size 50. (I've "grown" to a 48 myself, so unfortunately, I know the struggle)

I usually pick things up at local markets, too.
Marks & Spencer is a bit pricey for me, even if they do have some lovely pieces.

Then there's Topshop and similar boutiques; if they happen to have my size, the cuts are often so strange that I can never quite make them work.

Regarding the BB collection at H&M, I heard they discontinued it because it wasn't selling well—though I can't say for certain since I haven't been in lately.

Someone mentioned L'Antique; I can confirm they carry larger sizes and decent items, though I haven't actually pulled the trigger on a purchase there yet.
But I have discovered a few small, unassuming shops that tend to stock larger sizes. One is near British Airways, and another is over on Masarykova Street. If anyone is truly interested, I can dig up their names.
Aside from sizing, I also have to keep an eye on the price tag. I'll occasionally treat myself to something substantial, but I don't have much extra cash lying around for everyday wardrobe updates.

La Redoute has some killer stuff for women who actually want to make a statement, but man, those prices can sting...
It’s really only worth grabbing if they’re running a 50% off sale...
They actually carry sizes up to 12 or 14, and the quality is legit—it doesn't feel cheap like the stuff you'd find at a typical department store...

I shop at Elena Miro Ducan in Chicago. They’re definitely on the pricey side, but the quality is top-tier and they have something for everyone. Personally, I'm all about that sporty elegance, and I can always find exactly what I'm looking for there.

I tend to find most of my stuff at Marks & Spencer; though when it comes to bottoms, well... I mean, anyone can pull off Benetton t-shirts and sweaters, but their pants are always way too tight and just too short for me 🤷

I was actually wondering if H&M still carries that Big is Beautiful line?

Oh, and another thing; I picked up this absolutely gorgeous skirt from Nataša Jelinić recently. It was incredibly pricey, I have to say, but honestly, it is just super 👍

Wait, where is their shop located?
I saw some really cute stuff on their website, but when I checked the store locator, there wasn't anything listed in the US.

There’s one right on Illick Street, just before you hit the Nike store.

They still make it, yeah, but you won't find it in every single H&M store. It’s kind of hit or miss. I think they have it at the H&M in the Seiersberg mall near Graz—if that's even how you spell it, I don't know!—and there's some in the Europark H&M over in Maribor too.

Look, I definitely have an eye for fashion. I care about the little things—color palettes, patterns, textures—and I actually enjoy picking out outfits. But unfortunately, I’m stuck in a real bind here.
My size is probably around a US 18 or 20, though honestly, I can't even tell anymore because finding anything in standard retail stores is impossible. It’s either nothing at all or those specialized plus-size shops that only sell shapeless sacks in depressing shades of black, gray, navy, or brown. It’s honestly pathetic.
I lived in the UK for a long time, and I never had this issue there. Most major brands carry plus sizes, even in huge increments, so you can actually find something decent.
As far as I know, we don't have anything like that in our local stores, aside from a few mail-order catalogs that offer larger sizes.
Does anyone know of a good shop in the city where I can actually find modern, stylish clothing in my size? If not, I’d suggest to anyone with some extra cash that they just grab a franchise for a place like H&M, River Island, or Etam. Then maybe people like us could finally enjoy wearing clothes that actually fit!🙂😍

So, I’m jumping into this thread. Just to give you a little context, I’m about 5'11" and weighing in at around 175 lbs. I wouldn't say I'm exactly "heavy," per se—it's more that I've got a larger frame, so I really need specific sizing when it comes to length and overall fit.
My biggest headache is definitely finding decent pants. Since my style is pretty much strictly casual, I live in jeans, and I’ve realized that flared or bootcut styles tend to be the most flattering on my shape.
Up until now, I’ve mostly been shopping at Macy's, but the last time I was there, the clerk mentioned they only went up to a size 14, and honestly, those always feel a bit too short for my legs. So, I’m curious—where do you guys who are a bit more curvy find good quality denim?

As far as tops go, I don't have much trouble; I usually grab an L or an XL from places like Gap or Esprit without much drama.

I also think Marks & Spencer has some lovely, high-quality pieces if you can find them online. I actually snagged this gorgeous navy summer skirt last year, and I swear, I practically lived in it all season.🙂

So, I’ve been invited to this wedding in May. Most of my business associates are going to be there, so looking sharp is kind of a big deal for me. The issue is that almost all the dresses I'm seeing are sleeveless, and since I'm not exactly thrilled with my arms, I don't really want to show them off completely. Maybe some sort of shrug or half-sleeve thing? I've got a few extra pounds on me (I'm about 5'10" and 158 lbs), though that doesn't really bother me. I just really don't want to embarrass myself.
Please, if you guys have any photos, send them my way.
Thanks, thanks, thanks so much... seriously.🙏

Hey, well, honestly, your height-to-weight ratio doesn't sound bad at all, so there's really no need to feel like you have to hide your arms... but, I suppose, if you aren't feeling comfortable, maybe you could have something custom-made from some muslin? Something like a bolero with 3/4 sleeves, but not a traditional bolero, obviously. More like these elegant sleeves that connect across the back—they usually sell those made from jersey material. I think they would look lovely in muslin, almost like a wide shawl with sleeves attached. They wouldn't sit right on the shoulders, so you could even wear them to church, and you won't get too hot because muslin is thin and breathable... I hope I managed to explain what I mean, I guess. If I can find a picture somewhere, I'll post it...🙂))

Hey everyone! I’m unfortunately stuck in the XXL category right now, though I’m really trying to shake those extra sizes off.... In my neck of the woods, there aren't many shops where you can actually find something stylish in a size 16 or 18, so I usually just go the custom route and have things made. If you happen to know a good tailor you'd recommend, please shoot me a DM. Thanks so much!😁

I might find something at Dorothy Perkins or maybe Marks & Spencer over at King Cross. Otherwise, I usually just grab stuff from H&M at the BBB.😢

Finally some good news—Marina Rinaldi, the Max Mara line made specifically for curvy, plus-size, and tall women 👍
is opening up in a few days over on Prague Street. 😉

Heyyyyy ladies, my sisters in retail therapy!

So, I was hitting up the mall in downtown Chicago this past Saturday. My usual move is always heading straight for H&M, but then—total fluke—I realize there’s a C&A just fifty yards away. And honestly? Holy crap. H&M tries to act like they're all that, but they can't even touch C&A. The selection is unreal. Half a floor is dedicated strictly to plus sizes. Even in the standard women's section, they go up to a size 16. But get this—on the second floor, they have stuff up to size 22 or 24!!! I’ve seriously never stepped foot in a store where things actually fit me *and* I actually have a choice in what I'm wearing. Usually, I’m just scanning racks praying to find my size, and if I do, I grab it and run... there's zero actual "shopping" involved. But this time? I ended up grabbing six different dresses that looked amazing on me, and then had the impossible task of picking just one. I actually found a dress for that wedding coming up!!!! Seriously, a total dream come true. I'm basically acting like a little kid who just got handed a giant bag of candy...

Oh, yeah. Totally forgot to mention—the prices aren't even that crazy. I picked up this little dress, something a bit more dressed up, for like $39.90, so you can imagine what you'd pay $98!!

Attention everyone! I’m currently looking at some Dorothy Perkins pieces (specifically the CC1 line, I absolutely adore them!)
I believe they have sizes ranging up to a 48 or maybe even a 50.
If anyone is in urgent need of a larger size—maybe you're starting a new diet for your health and need a better fit—please let me know ASAP!

Maybe you could pair a lovely sleeveless dress with a sophisticated bolero that complements the style?
