Fat chance.

I rushed in, realized what I'd done once I actually became a member, but honestly, I just couldn't be bothered to go back and edit it. 🤣
I’m looking for training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, or maybe Wednesdays and Fridays—something like that, but in the afternoon. My MMA classes are in the evenings, see, and I tried asking around, but I couldn't find anything useful online, so I figured I'd just ask you guys. 😢

stretching 🙂 Give me a break. 😁 Nighttime magic at work. 🤣

Alright, I’m giving it my best shot here. But honestly, if we really start getting into the weeds with this, we’re gonna be here forever. 🙂

Quick question, anyone know the best spot to grab some wrestling shoes? Maybe online or a local shop in LA or around there?...

Sprained my knuckle.
I mean, what can I even say? Total stupidity on my part— 🙄 I went ham on one of those boxing machines you see hanging out in dive bars, thinking I was actually gonna chase down some record... but right after the first hit (which was my first time ever using one), my knuckle started throbbing. Instead of being smart about it, I went ahead and smashed it two more times with everything I had 🙄 (obviously, the scores on the next two were trash. For context, the first hit clocked in at 185, while the record was sitting at 192)
The next day was absolute hell, probably when it hurt the most. Since the third day, it’s been a week, and honestly? It feels pretty much the same as it did back then. I’m just not seeing any real improvement here.
It doesn't kill me during normal daily stuff, but if I put any actual weight on it—like doing pushups or trying to stretch the joint—the pain comes rushing back. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense? How long does this usually take to clear up?

First hit in life, then you go full boxing mode. Equipment? First, you need a man... 😬
Don't go pushing that wrist too hard, or at least throw some wraps on it until it heals... what else is there to say...

What’s the big deal with that damn speed bag anyway? And that guy who’s always hammering away at it, setting records left and right—he was complaining about an injury, but he already had one from way back...
If we're talking about a broken bone or some shredded cartilage, then yeah, I think he'd actually have much bigger problems than this.

Most people breaking records on those machines usually come from some kind of combat sports background...

And look, I totally get that—I really do. It’s that competitive itch, that pure curiosity, and just wanting to see if you can outdo the last guy... I just couldn't help myself 😁 once my hand is actually healed up, I'm wrapping my wrist tight, grabbing my gear, and heading right back there to try and smash that record again.

Haha, you probably swung with pure brute force, like an amateur. 😂 Most people lack understanding; technique is essential. 😉 Apply some Polar Ice to your knuckles and wrist, and you will be fine. Next time, strike with masculine precision—use your foot, like Pat Barry.😂

Honestly, that’s pretty much how I was throwing it. I was trying my hardest to keep my hand and wrist super tight, but man, it didn't even matter. Looking back, I realized I should’ve kept the wrist tilted down just a tiny bit—like, maybe a few millimeters—to really lock it in.

Maybe you need to figure out exactly which part of the fist makes contact. When hitting this bag, I’d suggest using a rear straight punch. Rotate through with your hips and legs, then extend the arm almost all the way. That's how you get power—by putting your whole body weight behind it. Just remember: use the rear straight, watch your contact point, and engage your entire body. You'll see the difference. Look up proper rear straight techniques on YouTube and try applying that. In the meantime, leave that hand alone. I wouldn't recommend hitting the same spot again for maybe two weeks. Otherwise, you're just going to wreck an already injured hand.

It's the rear straight, but honestly, how 🙂
you move matters too—like, you gotta sort of step into it, I guess? Your fist needs to travel in a pretty straight path, and if I recall correctly, you should also
keep your forearm at maybe a ten or twenty-degree angle outward rather than keeping it totally flat against the floor... and having that right wrist tension right at the moment of impact is huge, so you really need to develop that feel for it.
There's just no way you're gonna get any real results if you're just standing there stationary.

Honestly, if you lead with a kick, it just feels a little amateur to me... 🤷 One way it actually works is firing a front jab into thin air first to get that footwork moving, which lets you really load up the rotation for a much heavier rear cross...

You’re the third person I’ve run into with an injury like this.
If you don't know actual striking technique (which is painfully obvious from your previous posts), then stop swinging at everything. Just go to a gym and ask how to actually hold your fist, what angle to use, where your fingers should be, and which part of the bag you're supposed to hit—basically, get some damn training. Don't listen to those forum bios, and quit watching those YouTube clips.Look, instead of sitting around, just walk into a gym or some fitness club and ask someone to actually show you how it's done properly. 🙂
I hate doctors. Seriously, go get an X-ray for that wrist. I know two people who've been stuck in casts for three months because of this amateur-hour nonsense. All that sloppy hitting leads to a fractured scaphoid bone. It might not seem like a big deal right now, but you're looking at improper healing and a thumb that won't even work properly later.
Throwing a punch isn't nearly as simple as it looks. People trip up constantly, and then they end up paying way too much for their little "experiments."
Just one or two months hitting the heavy bag after getting some actual, professional guidance? That’s all you need. It's enough to make sure you never screw up like this again. 🙂

Haha, everything is accurate except the gym part; just don't go there to "hit" things.🙂 By the way, I like your avatar.😍 😳

That’s true. Using the technique I mentioned before, you really ought to improvise with a lunge or perhaps a lead jab to create space, making that rear punch much firmer. Basically, I wasn't just talking about hitting from a stationary stance. You adapt the technique to the ball and the available room. But honestly, how can one explain how to strike the ball without wrecking your own hand? 🤷 🙄
p.s. By the way, the record on this forum belongs to Daniel Garcia. He didn't just hit it; he practically dismantled it and consumed it. Right there in front of a horrified crowd and a bunch of little kids.

That was me saying... ☕ Did any of you guys give him tips on his hand positioning too... 🙂 And then Dragonfly went ahead and thought you guys were all set... now you're stuck with a massive red mark on her record... 😛
