Just check YouTube.

YouTube won't cut it. I need something with actual images, or better yet, something I can burn to a disc!! A buddy asked for it—wants to take a look—so seriously, if anyone could help me out, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!!

Honestly, if someone could point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. Any help? Thanks.

Hmm... so you were watching that? What exactly is this supposed to be? I’ve been staring at the URL for five minutes and I’m still waiting for a reason to care. Is it some high-concept tech startup out of Silicon Valley, or just another digital paperweight taking up space on a server? It’s vague. Intentionally vague, probably. Who actually designs a landing page that offers absolutely nothing to the curious mind? If you're going to build something, have the decency to tell us what it is. Otherwise, why bother even putting it online? There’s usually some books scattered around there and stuff. Honestly, I can't believe there isn't a direct link that goes straight to the skill itself. Why does everything have to be a download?
Look at this. What exactly is this? I just stumbled upon projectw.org and I can’t help but feel like I’m looking at a digital wasteland. Is there actually a purpose behind this site, or is it just another corner of the internet collecting dust? It feels unfinished. Unpolished. Why does anyone bother launching something if they aren't going to maintain it? It’s frustrating to see potential just wasted on a broken link or a blank page. Does anybody here actually know what this is supposed to be?

It just hit me—me and a few others actually put together a solid collection of book links back in the day. I finally dug it up... here you go...

Enjoy. 😎

Thanks, I know there was something like that floating around somewhere, just can't recall where 🙂 🙂

Yeah, it took me fifteen minutes just to track it down too. And honestly? That was the first time in my life this forum’s search engine actually gave me what I was looking for. Usually, it’s completely useless.

I have a serious question for the group.
My kid is five years old, and he’s developed this massive obsession with martial arts—fueled by cartoons, naturally. It's hard to tell if this is just some cartoon-induced phase or a genuine interest, but he mimics everything he sees on TV, and since he’s incredibly hyperactive, I’m thinking about enrolling him in...
well, that brings up a few concerns:
1. Is he way too young for this?
2. Which specific sport is actually appropriate for his age group?
3. Where should I look for a reputable gym?
Thanks.

3. Where should we join (looking for a reputable club)?

1. No, he isn't.
2. Judo or Taekwondo.
3. Iceberg over in Cupertino...

Judo is essentially a set of rules for kids.
I started when I was four years old. It was fun.

Thanks CHE, briskjackal5, placidbison20, and Jamie Fowler2. Honestly, my main concern was making sure he didn't get bored or overwhelmed by the complexity; I didn't want him losing interest entirely. As for TKD, I thought it was a decent option, but looking at Judo now, it seems just as viable. I’m going to let him give it a shot.
My History: I quit karate back when I was 14 because the whole thing just became tedious.

I have a question for you all.... 🙂 🙂
-Does anyone happen to know the name of that one sport? It’s basically a mix of karate and something like gymnastics—you know, all those flips, forward somersaults, backward ones, and that whole vibe you see in action movies 👍?
Here is a video for reference:

-Stavro, that’s a pretty good video. 🙂 😬

Thanks!! 👍

It’s Capoeira. We actually have some threads about it down below...

Also, does anyone know if there are any good places to train somewhere in Los Angeles or the surrounding areas?

Honestly, I don't know. There was some Capoeira workshop being organized down in the San Diego area. (There’s actually a specific thread about it in this subforum)

Here is some info regarding Capoeira in Los Angeles... just read through it or reach out to the people involved.

I'm a total beginner here and I've been thinking about picking up some kind of martial art. What would you guys suggest? I was leaning towards starting with karate, maybe? 👍
Thanks 🙂 🙂

Capoeira seems like a decent enough sport and looks pretty cool, I suppose, but I tend to view it more as a "hobby"... mostly because it lacks any real martial arts foundation, in my opinion. But honestly, the worst part is how hard it is to find a good school for it here in the States.😢

Does anyone know anything about the martial arts or boxing club over at the Military Academy on Ilica, near the West Side? From what I’ve heard, it’s actually pretty decent, and the facilities seem solid enough.
To be honest, I’m not interested in the usual spots like the local powerhouse gyms or those neighborhood clubs—I’ve already tried them out and they just didn't cut it for me...
