Moving this comment over from the chat, just in case it helps someone out.
I’ve already been burned twice buying Dsquared jeans online. Last time, I went into a shop to try on that exact model and size just to be safe, only to have them ship me something that looked identical but felt like they were made for a completely different human being. It was infuriating.😠
Now, my ritual before hitting "buy" is emailing them to ask for specific measurements, but even that feels like a gamble sometimes.🤷

Here is what I’m hunting for:
http://www.luisaviaroma.com/index.as...seasProdID=50I

On this site, it’s crystal clear: rise is 23 cm and the hem is 20 cm. And I’m looking for an Italian size 48!

So then I find the exact same pair right here, also listed as a size 48.😍
http://www.viganoboutique.com/index....80&language=en

But check out the nonsense they sent me in response:
dear sir,
thank you for visit on viganoboutique.
there are mesaurents ( in cm ) have requaired in your mail.
dsquared jeans, size 48, colour blu:
total lenght: 102.00 cm
width mes (waist) 43.00 cm
inseam: 30.00cm
ending: 18.00 cm

It’s obvious they fat-fingered the inseam measurement, but once I saw that "ending" is 18 cm while the length is 102 cm, I just lost it.😠😠

I kept digging and found them on Zappos, but they only had size 50 in stock.😠
http://www.zappos.com/dsquared2-dean...c-vintage-wash
I have to hand it to them, though—at least Zappos lists the specs clearly so you actually know how the jeans will fit. Buying Dsquared online is basically playing Russian roulette.

Then, I stumble upon a French site—I won't say which one, or someone might snatch them up before I can!—that has sizes 32, 34, and 36. I checked their size chart to see how that translates to Italian sizing, and it says pretty clearly that for men's jeans, a 36 equals a 48.
I shot them an email asking for the actual measurements, and all they sent back was "waist is 32 inches" and "32 equals 48." Now I’m stuck. I don’t even know the specific model name, and I’m supposed to order a 32 even though their own chart says 36.
To top it all off, when I look at the size guide on another tab, it claims 48 equals 38.
It's enough to drive you crazy.

Question for the ladies here....
Do you ever buy men's jeans?

Shopping is a total nightmare for me. I'm 5'11" and I can never find anything long enough in regular stores that actually fits right—not to mention I absolutely loathe skinny jeans, so I won't even try them on. And apparently, everything is skinny now....
I stopped hitting up the high-end boutiques after I bought a pair at Replay once that literally fell apart after a few weeks...

But I'm asking about the guys' section because a few years back at Loehmann's, after failing to find any decent women's pants that weren't too short, a sales clerk handed me a pair. It wasn't until I had them on that I realized they were actually men's. I bought them anyway because they fit way better than any women's cut—they had this perfect slight flare—and I wore them until they finally gave up the ghost 😢...

So, my buddy over in Chicago picked up these men's jeans and they fit her perfectly... I mean, honestly, sometimes you just get lucky, I guess.

I recently stumbled upon these incredible jeans from a brand called ONLY—honestly, I’d never even heard of them before—but they are absolutely perfect😁
The fit is just seamless, even the length is spot on... I'll check back in a few months regarding the quality
and yeah, I am totally loving my shopping trip here in Los Angeles😍

Honestly, I only trust Modi when it comes to this stuff. At least, that’s where I picked up a pair once, and they were absolutely perfect on me. Though, if I'm being completely honest, they feel a little oversized now since I've lost a tiny bit of weight 😁 (thank goodness, haha)

Question for the ladies with curves... any reliable models or brands you swear by?

I’ve wasted so much money on misses that I’m losing my mind. For me, that "spread it out" principle? It has never once worked.

The best model I ever had was from Baby Phata. It’s gone now—not even on the internet or in any shops.
What exactly are you looking for? Tips on what? Be specific. I can't help you if you don't tell me the subject.

It seems like women have a much easier time finding a pair of jeans that actually hits the mark. I guess the main thing is just finding that perfect fit that hides the flaws while really showing off the legs and curves, right?😂

As for guys, finding decent denim is basically mission impossible.$333 Even at a place like Diesel, they don't carry anything worth wearing. I’ve cycled through pretty much everything out there—Levi's, Boss, Dolce & Gabbana, Von Dutch, Bikkembergs—and while the designs aren't terrible, the quality just doesn't justify the price tag. I ended up walking away empty-handed every single time.😢

When did you skip the replay... 🥳

What happened with those guys from the web?

Don't even joke about it. Replay is honestly worse than any of the brands mentioned above. I’ve owned three pairs of Replay jeans, and the cotton quality was just pathetic.

As for the stuff from the internet, I haven't found anything that actually fits me yet. I'm still hunting.
But I did stumble upon a new brand that seems to check all my boxes. If I can do some solid homework on their sizing, I might just pull the trigger and order them soon.

Diesel is more than alright with me. I’m down with everything else you said, though. Lately, I’ve been picking up most of my Dolce & Gabbana pieces over in Italy. The material quality is all over the place depending on the model—you'll find some stiff ones that feel cheap if they're on sale, but then there are these top-tier pieces D&G usually doesn't even bother making. Perfect cut, great design, and high-end soft cotton. My only gripe is that most of them have that little metal plate on the button that you basically have to rip off because it actually gets uncomfortable when you're sitting down😠. I ended up ruining one pair doing that, so I just hand-stitched them instead. Now they've got this unique custom look and they're easily my favorites🙏😁

redorca11 said:Look, I’ll say it plainly: I wish I could just walk into Zara, Mango, or Gap and find a pair of jeans that actually fits. But let’s be real—it’s a lost cause for someone with my build. I’ve mentioned this before, so I shouldn't have to repeat myself, but here we are. I’m a standard, slender girl—about 123 pounds at 5'6"—but my proportions are completely off for mass-market fashion. Nature gave me a 27-inch waist and 35-inch hips, which sounds fine on paper, but in reality, there is almost zero definition. My waist doesn't exist, my hips barely show, and my backside is pretty much flat. When you have a silhouette like mine, those big-box retailers might as well not even bother making clothes for us.
I find myself constantly bouncing between stores like Mango, Zara, Vero Moda, Madewell, Dolce & Gabbana, Levi's, Mustang, LTB, Naf Naf, Benetton, and Tommy Hilfiger—just browsing here, then there. And let me tell you, the selection of denim is absolutely stunning. Mango, in particular, has some incredible models; I saw these grey ones with stud detailing that were just breathtaking. But that’s exactly where the nightmare begins. I try on a size 6, and while they fit my backside perfectly, there is absolutely zero chance I’m getting the button closed. Then I move up to a size 8, and suddenly the waist fits, but now I'm dealing with all this awkward bunching around the hips and pulling at the crotch. It is the exact same story in 95% of the shops out there. It’s infuriating. 😕
Most of my denim comes from Diesel. Right now, I own three pairs of theirs. I’ve got these light gray ones that are hitting the two-year mark, and they’ve finally started chafing between the legs—which is actually impressive, considering most other brands I buy fall apart within a year. My grandmother patched them up for me, so I’ll probably be wearing them for quite a while longer. Then there are my medium blue and dark blue pairs. Their sizes 28 and 29 fit like a glove, specifically the Liv model in a 29 with 2% elastane. 🙏 Liv's eyes are a deep navy, almost indigo, and they catch the light perfectly.
I also have some pieces from Topshop—their lightbulbs [style items] and those flared cuts are absolutely fantastic. It would be incredible if I could consistently find trousers there for around $40.$150Honestly, I remember when things were actually decent around here, back in the day. But lately? When I’ve gone looking for something worthwhile, I haven't found a single model that even comes close to being impressive. The selection has been absolutely pathetic. It is glaringly obvious that Magma is completely spiraling right now.
Honestly, what can you even do? My ass is incredibly picky and just plain weird—it only "approves" of Diesel (specifically the 28 or 29 waist) and Topshop (the size 10, specifically the Baxter model), and that is absolutely it. I have seriously exhausted myself hunting for the perfect pair of jeans everywhere under the sun, and yet, nothing else works.

I once owned a pair of Replay jeans and two different pairs from Hilfiger. On the surface, the fit was impeccable—they looked fantastic on me. But the actual quality? It was honestly painful. Both pairs completely fell apart within five to eight months of regular wear. My cousin also got burned by Replay; both her pairs disintegrated almost instantly, like they were made of crackers instead of denim. 😢

When it comes to denim, I don’t mind splurging a little extra. The same logic applies to a high-quality coat or a solid pair of boots—these are investment pieces you wear for years, not just seasons. As for basic tees and other filler items, I’m much more frugal. I’d never waste my money on a Diesel t-shirt; I can easily pick up something similar at H&M, Mango, or Zara without a second thought. However, jeans are the absolute foundation of my wardrobe, and honestly, they’re the only pants I own. I know from experience that Diesel denim is top-tier quality, and I truly don't regret spending the money. I would much rather buy one killer pair and wear them for two or three years than be stuck spending $100 every six months or so just to keep my closet functional. $133 As for those who are going to fall apart quickly... I’m not saying it's a universal rule, but so far, only my Diesel ones have actually managed to withstand that much friction between my legs for any length of time. 😁

See, that’s exactly where my experience differs... Sure, I like them snug, but I refuse to have extra inches of love handles or a belly spilling out because the fabric failed. None of the pairs I've owned have ever stretched out on me. I distinctly remember a pair of Miss Sixty jeans—they were 100% denim, zero stretch, and I could barely even get the button fastened. They never lost their shape, but they did leave bruises around my waist, so I eventually just handed them off to my sister. Personally, I prefer that "second skin" feel. I don't mind if they're a tiny bit tight at the waist, provided I can actually close the button, but I demand that they never lose their tension or sag. 😁

We’re pretty much the same height and weight (5'6", about 120 lbs), but I actually wear Diesel Liv size 27! They aren't even too tight; they actually stretch out after wearing them a few times... 🤷

So, does anyone know if those jeans are available in any outlets? 😁 I really don't feel like driving all the way to the premium outlets for nothing...

I used to love Diesel because they fit great, but I have to admit they lose their shape between my legs pretty fast. Plus, the denim itself doesn't really feel "high end." Once you get a taste of better stuff, it's hard to go back to Diesel.

Now, D&G definitely has some killer jeans, but finding the right cut is a struggle. I always seem to stumble upon that classic 19-inch inseam that looks terrible on me.
Which specific model and size are the ones you say are perfect?!

I've actually decided to make the jump to PRPS. I tried on a single pair once and they were a bit baggy, but the details and the fabric looked even better than Dsquared2.
I did a little digging online and saw they have incredible designs and cuts; you can even find some slim fits if you look.😁 They aren't short like the D2 pairs.😁
It's this Japanese brand that uses some kind of African cotton. They are famous for the quality of their cotton, their weaving, and their washing processes. From what I understand, these are true high-end jeans.
Price-wise, they sit somewhere around D&G or Dsquared2—maybe about 20-30% more expensive, though it really depends on the model.

Man, Diesel is basically half the price, plus none of these even fit right. What size are you even looking at? 😁

I don't know if you noticed, but I mostly stick to classic straight cuts or stuff that barely tapers. Nothing with extra details or random crap. I hate it when people stare at my brand name, so I'm not really into DSQ, for instance. I just like all shades of blue—prefer the lighter ones, I guess. Just how I like it. Basically, any low or mid-rise DG model with a straight cut works okay for me if they stretch a bit at the button. 🤣
So I grabbed a few pairs in size 36 since I can't squeeze into a 34 anymore, and even these feel tight. I'm done buying stuff for a while. I've actually started trying to lose weight, so I probably won't be going out much anyway.

The only real headache is the fabric quality because it varies so much, so I don't order anything online. Unlike Diesel, which always seems to have that soft, high-quality cotton.

And I'm not really looking into new brands. Honestly, I just lost interest in all that a while ago. 🤷

Haha, honestly, I’m just going to grab whichever cut fits me best.

If I could, I’d snag those Diesel Viker jeans in an 8oz wash right this second, but their online shop is only stocking the Krooley cut.😠 And even then, you can't find that specific 8oz wash in the Viker fit anywhere... okay, maybe one random boutique in the UK has it, but the inseam is basically made for toddlers.😠 These other wash options they have are honestly pretty lame.😢, and here in the States, the selection is basically non-existent.😢

If I can't track down those Diesels, I'm pivoting straight to PRPS. Their denim is incredible, and they’re definitely a massive step up in quality from Diesel, so I won't feel like I'm throwing money down the drain if they cost a bit more:

Oh, then that's right up my alley. 😁 Which site? 😁

By the way, these PRPS jeans look killer. I’m digging every single model they’ve got. Still, I’m just not really a huge denim guy.

I think we need to check for everyone. Even if you use Google, it’ll probably just show you one result because they only carry it in one spot anyway.

Honestly, no matter how much you're dropping at Replay, I doubt you've got enough left over for Prps.🙂

By the way, the Diesel denim gallery is actually great. I ordered a pair once, but they totally botched the sizing.😢
I have no clue what the deal is with that specific line. They only have stores in NYC and Tokyo, and good luck finding them anywhere else unless you stumble upon them online, which is rare.🙂 I searched everywhere for one specific model and came up empty.😠 I’d bet they’re the exact same quality as Dsquared, maybe even better cuts. Since D2 is part of the Diesel family, I feel like that particular Diesel line is exactly my kind of thing...
The ones I grabbed are pretty baggy.😠

Man, I was totally gonna sit down and write this whole thing, but something glitched out on me so I just gave up. Fuck, it’s like every time I drop by, I want to grab a couple of shirts from Replay, but then they’re always out of stock for days. Look, I’m not trying to tell anyone how to live their life, but maybe just be a bit more selective about what you buy? It’d save us all from constantly dumping random junk. Personally, I’d rather just pick up one solid piece, especially when I know it’s actually worth having and I can wear it with some actual style—especially sneakers.
