Could you please point me in the right direction—where on earth am I supposed to find a Crnčić for that kind of money?

Not in the galleries, 😉that's for sure.

So, I happen to have a painting by Ismet Muzejinović from 1943—and I'm thinking maybe I might want to sell it. Has anyone here heard of him? Or, I guess, does anyone know who I should reach out to about this? thanks!

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help me out. I'm looking for an estimate on what era this wardrobe dates back to and what its current market value might be.

Thanks,

Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone here might have some extra details or maybe even a ballpark price on this piece from the American collection:

From what I can tell—and correct me if I'm wrong here—it looks like a watercolor print or maybe ink and wash. It’s hard to give a solid estimate just by looking.
Either way, his work is out there in the market like weeds in a backyard; back in the day, people were getting 10-15 Deutsche Marks per signature on prints.
You'll find a million different prices online, too. Honestly, if you're looking at gallery prices, you should probably shave off 50% from whatever they're asking (sometimes even more).
I actually picked up an original felt-tip drawing, about 16x24 inches, for 100 bucks including the frame once. 🙂

I was wondering if anyone might have some insight regarding this piece—it’s an oil painting on old linen, roughly 24x31 inches. The only identifying marks are the initials "J.T." and what looks like "40FZ" scribbled in pencil behind the canvas.

I am new here and I was wondering if someone might be able to provide some information, if you please, regarding who I should contact about some old books. To be specific, I have a complete set of 21 volumes—lexicons—written in German that date back to 1905. Does anyone happen to have any idea what they might be worth, or perhaps whom I should reach out to? Thank you.

So, I’ve been sitting on this Ivan Rabuzin painting for nearly 20 years now—it’s a landscape, roughly 20x28 inches.
Up in the top left corner, someone scribbled "E.A" in pencil, and then over on the right, there's his signature, also in pencil: IVAN RABUZIN.
It’s already framed and under glass, too.

Back in the day, pieces like this were seriously high-ticket items, so I know it wasn't cheap when I first got it.

But here’s what’s eating at me: what does that "E.A" actually stand for? There isn't a number after it or anything. When you catch the light at just the right angle, you can really see the texture—the actual brushstrokes and layers of paint on the leaves and the houses.
Is this a genuine original, or am I just looking at something else? Honestly, I haven't a clue.
Can anyone give me a quick breakdown of what's going on here?

Also, any idea what kind of cash this could pull in these days?

Thanks in advance! !!!!!!!!!!

Basically, you're looking at a print that's been hand-finished—so "EA" means it's an artist's edition. Those are actually rarer than the numbered ones, which usually makes them more valuable. It’s not a one-of-a-kind original painting, though.
Rabuzin was always a big deal in the art scene, and his stuff always moved well.
Since it's been hand-touched, the price really depends on how much work went into it. Honestly? It probably won't break $500-$600. In fact, it'll likely lean closer to the lower end of that range.
Usually, prints aren't worth nearly that much, but since it's a Rabuzin, you've definitely got something decent on your hands. 😉

I need some advice here. I’ve come into possession of an original oil painting on canvas. It’s signed by Jelačić, and the subject is a portrait of a Romani woman wearing a yellow headscarf. The piece looks quite aged. My intention is to sell it, but I haven't the slightest clue what kind of market value we're looking at for something like this.

I’m going to post an ad here—and mods, please don't move this, because I know there are plenty of people here who actually work with art or have pieces of their own...

So, basically, I’m looking for a piece of art to use for my senior thesis project (I’m studying restoration). Ideally, it would be an oil painting on canvas or perhaps oil on wood. It does need to have at least some level of damage or wear, obviously...

My work is completely free of charge, so this could be a pretty great chance for you to get something restored without paying a professional fee. The owner would just need to cover the cost of materials—which shouldn't be a huge amount—and of course, I’ll provide all the receipts for everything...

I'll return the artwork once the restoration is finished.

So, if you have something that fits the bill, please shoot me a PM—or if you know someone who might be interested, feel free to let them know about this...

Thanks. 🙏

It’s an old sewing machine—and look, I’ll be the first to admit I don't know the first thing about these things. I have no clue what it's actually worth, or if it’s even worth anything at all, let alone who I should even reach out to... It definitely looks like it needs a full restoration, but I can't wrap my head around whether that's even a smart investment...
Can anyone lend a hand or maybe provide some info..? Here are two photos, though I can post more if necessary..

I've got my hands on a 14-karat gold IWC Schaffhausen movement from 1903. Does anyone know the best place to sell something like this, and what kind of price am I looking at?

I have this one piece—I’m not entirely sure what the technical term is, but it looks like it's crafted from wood or perhaps some kind of layered veneer. The subject matter seems to revolve around the Illyrian Movement. I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on the historical context or provide a rough estimate of its value. Would something like this even be marketable? To be perfectly honest, I know next to nothing about art or painters, so any guidance would be appreciated.
The individual who created it lives in Djurdjevac and specializes in naive art.

The dimensions look to be about 1.20 by 80, if I had to guess.

The photo is way too small—even if there's an artist signature somewhere, I can't make out a thing.
Get some better, high-res shots of the details, then maybe someone here can actually figure out what we're looking at. 👍
