So, I was just sitting here thinking about it, and it got me wondering—do you guys think it’s actually worth it, you know, when you're talking about figures like Ismar and Ismet Mujezinović?

Quick question here.
A sculpture from a government agency back in the 90s is slated for the scrap heap just because some bureaucrats failed to realize what they actually had sitting in their hallway.
That said, a worker at the facility managed to pull off a little "save" and tucked it away.
Does he actually have a legal claim to it—meaning, can he sell it or anything like that—if he’s got witnesses who saw him take it?
We're talking about a piece of Jamonja, roughly 2 by 3 meters.

Greetings to everyone,
I was wondering if anyone might be willing—or perhaps even feel inclined—to provide an appraisal of this bronze relief bearing the signature of Franges-Mihanović?
The dimensions are roughly 25x17 cm.
Furthermore, if anyone happens to recognize the specific piece or could kindly point me toward a more seasoned expert on his body of work, I would be most grateful.

Portrait of King Peter I by Oton Iveković
It’s from the early 1900s. Apparently, it was a gift to the family from Stjepan Radic, given by King Alexander Karadjordjevic himself. I was wondering if anyone here might have an idea of what a piece like this could be worth on the market today?imagehttp://img408.imageshack.us/i/p2020107.jpg/

Curious how much a vintage gold ring would go for—something over 150 years old, decked out with 16 diamonds and a massive 3.5 carat center sapphire? Does a market for stuff like that even exist here in the States??

Sorry if I'm totally off-topic, but since everyone's talking about fine art, I figured I'd throw this out there.🙂

To get both of those appraised, you’d probably be best off reaching out to the MoMA. http://www.moma.org/

Hey everyone!

I recently inherited a painting that bears Renoir's signature. I took it to an art gallery in Chicago to get their take on it, and they told me it looks incredibly convincing. Given how long they've been in the business, they think there might be something to it.
I was wondering, is it possible here in the States to have a piece officially authenticated and receive a certificate to prove it's an original?
I don't have any documentation regarding its provenance, other than the inheritance agreement that specifically lists this painting.

Thanks for the help!

Nah, I don't think so—they’d probably have to head over to Austria or Italy, though I'd say Austria first

Anyone actually know what these coins are worth or where I can flip them?
- French II.D.G.R.I.S.A.GER.HIE.HVN.BOH.REK from 1796
- 1848-1908 dual-emblem "gloriose peractis"
- 1908 5 Korona—definitely marked silver
Photos are all right here at

They were actually part of some jewelry—they’ve got a little loop at the top for a chain or something.
So, honestly, to any serious coin collectors out there, they don't really hold much value—they're basically just being valued by their silver content.
I'm not exactly sure what the current spot price for silver is right now—my bad—but if you weigh the coins and multiply that by the silver price, that's pretty much your total.

And I went ahead and added the artist's signature too... "Old Stadium" is the title.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone recognizes this painting? It’s signed by an M. Barivoj... does anyone happen to know who that painter might be?
Also, I'd love it if someone could give me a rough idea of what this piece might be worth... just curious...

Can someone give me a straight assessment of this piece by Charles Bilich? I think the title is "DG".

For some reason I just can't wrap my head around why Americans are dropping so much cash on his paintings and graphics—honestly, if you ask me, they’re totally overpriced.
Plus, if you take a quick sec to look him up—not even a huge effort, really—you'll see his prices right there 😉

Robin Sanders3 said:Honestly, it all depends on what you've got sitting in front of you—prices vary wildly based on the specific piece.
And just a heads up, those prices you see floating around online? They don't really reflect what’s happening in the actual market right now.
For instance, someone like Klement Menci Crnčić—who’s way more sought after than Mirković these days—can easily fetch anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000 for decent, large-scale oils if you find the right buyer.

Cheers,
Could you please point me in the right direction—where on earth am I supposed to find a Crnčić for that kind of money?

Look, you really ought to provide a bit more context here, or better yet, just upload a photo of the piece itself...
