Greetings to everyone. I have an oil lamp here. It is quite old, and I honestly have no idea when it was made or where it originated. An acquaintance mentioned they had it appraised once, and apparently, the expert identified it as being made from a specific material—some obscure name I can't recall at the moment—and claimed it holds significant value. If anyone here has encountered something similar, please provide your own assessment. Thank you.

I’ve got two plaster busts from Deskovica—one of a drunkard and one of a guy leaning against a horse. I also have a wood carving of a hunting dog by a hole, plus a plaster piece framed like a painting featuring what's supposedly a portrait of my father. How much do you think these could actually fetch on the market?

I’ve gotta side with Matthew Young35 on this one! Honestly, you’d be way better off tucking that thing away in a basement or some dark corner of the garage where the lighting is terrible, because if someone tried to hand that to me as a gift, I’d pass on it faster than a speeding bullet.

Yeah, I agree. That vertical emphasis is way too heavy-handed, which isn't really the vibe in most art circles anyway. He should've pulled in some horizontal elements to create a bit of contrast. Doing that would have actually made the piece worth something.
