So, I finally went to see Dr. Miller at the Harni Medical Clinic.
She’s honestly such a sweetheart—super bright, young, and just has a great vibe.
She didn't mind any of my silly questions at all; she walked me through everything clearly and gave me a full rundown on what to do next.
It was awesome.

The whole thing (the exam, Pap smear, and ultrasound) ended up costing me $157.
Honestly, it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.

Jerry Newman18 says:>
I wouldn't recommend him if I were you... when I went to see him last year, he wouldn't even give me a proper exam. He refused to send me for an ovarian ultrasound, just insisted on basic blood work instead.
When I asked for a full check-up, he just grilled me about whether my kidneys, heart, or liver were okay, then basically told me I was fine.😲 😲 👎
I told myself: never again...

I don't really follow your logic on why you felt an ultrasound was necessary in the first place.
It seems like everyone on this board thinks they’re a specialist or a diagnostic expert. Honestly, at this rate, you might as well just buy your own ultrasound machine and do the scans yourself.

quietfox17 said:I have zero clue what you based that decision on—like, why on earth would you need an ultrasound?
It honestly feels like every single person on this thread thinks they’re a freaking surgeon or a medical researcher... Honestly, you might as well just go buy your own ultrasound machine at Target and scan yourself!

Look, quietfox17, you're totally right that the patient shouldn't be the one calling the shots on diagnosis (or "demanding" it, if we're being picky about the wording 😁), but man... it's just not okay when doctors treat people with that "everyone thinks they know everything" attitude. It's so dismissive, you know? Instead of just brushing people off, they should actually take a second to explain *why* a certain test isn't necessary or what else a person can do for themselves...

I get it, most of them are slammed and barely have time to breathe, but seriously—a few words of actual explanation goes a long way. 🙂

Most "regular" folks kind of view doctors as these sort of wizards or oracle figures—they subconsciously give them way more power than they actually have. I guess that's why it hurts so much when they get shut down or treated like they're being annoying...

Hey, has anyone here actually been to see Dr. Snjezana Belak over on Sokoladgorska near Tresnjevka? I’m trying to get some kind of intel before I commit to an appointment there... would love to hear any thoughts...

Schlatkica said:Well, I actually had an appointment with Dr. Gudelj over at the Harni Clinic myself.

Why isn't Dr. Gudelj listed on the Harni Clinic website? They only have Dr. Vesna Harni and Dr. Dragica Schmidt mentioned...
Honestly, I really liked how you described this Dr. Gudelj woman—it sounds like she’s exactly the kind of specialist I’d want to see...😁

From what I can tell, she's pretty much the new kid on the block.
Just a young woman with a friendly vibe and some really cool glasses.

Dr. Schmidt has officially retired.

Those glasses are actually a pretty sharp nod to a gynecologist. 😁

John Hughes26 said:Apparently, this guy is a total superstar; he works over at Mercury, but he also runs his own private practice over in the Trešnjevka neighborhood. My wife has been seeing him for years now and she couldn’t be happier. He specializes in older expectant mothers. For private patients, the exam costs $167

I’m putting my name on this, 👍
He is hands down the absolute best doctor I have ever visited, and I’ve stuck with him for six whole years.
Just so you know, a standard check-up is $500, but for pregnant women, it goes up to $600 because they actually provide you with a video recording of the session every single time.
Actually, to clarify, he isn't specifically a specialist for older moms, but rather an expert in fertility treatments.
To me, he is simply the greatest. Every time we go, he performs an incredibly thorough battery of tests; he’s so attentive and has this way of truly putting you at ease (honestly, I walk in there feeling like I'm heading to the electric chair—even though I'm not—but once I step inside and see those ridiculous finger-shaped gadgets of his, I can't help but burst out laughing)😁

No, seriously, you have to hand it to the man.

On a completely different note, I had the most horrific experience of my life over at the hospital on Petrov Street when they rushed me into an emergency exam (I was having some health issues at the time). It was my first time there, and it was certainly my last. To make matters worse, I happened to be on my period that day; I’m standing there in that filthy, disgusting little changing stall, undressing, when suddenly I hear the doctor mutter: "God, this little girl hasn't even finished getting undressed yet..." and there I am, just sitting there like an idiot...
I managed to scramble out of there somehow (without even a robe... thank God I was wearing a long enough t-shirt) while this butcher of a doctor just casually walks right in and starts poking around 🙂

I've been with Dr. Miller's practice from the very beginning... he took me on without any issues. I just switched my insurance card over about two years ago, and since then, he hasn't had me on medical leave at all.
He’s actually really kind and gentle... no matter how many questions I throw at him, he always gives me a nice answer.
As for all that male vs. female nonsense...
I honestly don't care... as long as he does his job right.

Man, I used to go to this male gynecologist who was seriously out of this world, just a complete legend, but he passed away a while back and it sucked... So, for like, eight years now, I’ve been seeing Professor Latin instead, and honestly? She is such a freaking rockstar, totally chill and knows her stuff... 👍

Does anyone know anything about Dr. Wahid over at the Downtown Medical Center?
Any kind of feedback would be super helpful right now.
A friend of mine has an appointment scheduled with him in a few days.

Dr. Wahid is honestly such a sweetheart, really kind guy... 👍

I only saw him because my insurance covered it—standard stuff—so he didn't actually give me a full exam or anything, which means I don't have much info on that specific issue yet.

From our chat, though, it feels like he stays on top of all the latest medical journals and doesn't just wing it. He seems pretty cautious, too—like, he’s definitely not the type to get sloppy or cut corners—that’s just my vibe from him...

Wahid is a good one. 🙂

I don't really understand what led you to decide you needed an ultrasound in the first place.
It seems like every woman here thinks she's a medical expert or knows everything about diagnostic tests. You might as well just buy your own ultrasound machine and do it yourself!!

That is just absolute madness..😲

I only just saw this reply now..

My dermatologist actually made the call and referred me to a gynecologist 🙄

placidmarlin35 said:Is anyone planning to see Dr. Marie Gregov at the university clinic?
People are saying she’s the only one still seeing patients there, so I was wondering what she’s actually like.👍 or 👎

thanks!

I actually had an appointment with her about two weeks ago.
I waited three weeks for the slot, and when I showed up at my scheduled time—though I don't think there was a nurse there, just her—things got a bit chaotic. I ended up waiting another hour... once I finally went in, the exam felt rushed, and I had quite a few questions. At one point, when I mentioned, "I just have one more thing to ask," she responded with, "Go ahead, but you've already exhausted me, and you weren't even on a scheduled appointment..." 😲 ??
That's when I realized why the whole experience felt so off from the start... 😢 ...(but honestly, I tried to be understanding because she probably was struggling with all the paperwork since there wasn't a nurse available, so I just quietly left..)

Overall, I wasn't satisfied; she seems fine during the actual exam itself, but that interaction...
👎
If you're looking for someone who is actually attentive, I'd suggest booking a formal appointment in advance...

On another note, she did run that swab test during the exam and told me that while something was present, it was receding—that an infection might flare up within 24 hours. Anyway, I'm still dealing with some issues, but I'll save that for another post..😢
