Let me step in here and defend the men.
My very first doctor was a private practitioner—just to break the ice. His name was Dr. Mladen Miljan, and he was phenomenal. Honestly, I trust male doctors way more than female ones. He was incredibly polite and gentle because he realized it was my first time. Nothing but praise for him.
After that, I switched to Dr. Shedid, who is an absolute legend. I’ve been seeing him for five years now. The guy even goes out of his way to give me referrals for a urologist, even though that's not really his field; I basically see him for every little thing, regardless of whether it's related to his specialty. He's Indian, by the way, and incredibly skilled.
Actually, I just had a Pap smear today. I’m lying there, he’s doing the exam, and we’re just chatting about random nonsense. At the end of the day, he’s a doctor; I don't know why people get so nervous about this. He answers everything I ask. For instance, I just learned today that a child can actually contract HPV from their mother during birth, and it can stay latent without anyone ever knowing.
I wouldn't trade him for any female doctor. To me, gender doesn't matter; the only thing that matters is if they do the job right. And regarding those of you complaining about having to undress—well, you heard them. If you can have sex, you can undress for a doctor. It isn't about shame; it's about health. Health is more important than being embarrassed, right?
But if you're looking for a female gynecologist—since some of you seem to prefer that—I recommend Dr. Puvacic. She works the opposite shift from Dr. Shedid. If anyone wants her number, shoot me a DM. A friend of mine goes to her and is extremely happy with the care.
