I recently visited Dr. Jennifer Sterling’s office. She is quite a lovely woman—very personable and kind, definitely not harsh in her manner. However, when it comes to actual efficiency? It’s hit or miss. It really seems to depend on what kind of mood she's in that day. Most of the conversation revolves around vague platitudes like "it'll pass," "just lose some weight," or "well, fuller women have those features," and so on.
When I actually pressed for specifics, the answers were frustrating. I asked if a certain issue would resolve itself once I lost weight, and the response was no, because it might not even be related to weight. When I inquired if there was a predisposition for cancer, the answer shifted to "yes, and it's a significant one." Thank goodness for the internet, allowing me to research things for myself. I have had this persistent, clean sensation that has been bothering me for quite some time, and when I first asked about it, she simply told me, "Oh, it's nothing serious." Yet, when I returned six months later to follow up, suddenly there was total panic—she insisted I needed an ultrasound immediately because it could be extremely dangerous. My goodness, I could have died during those six months while being told everything was fine! Now, suddenly, there's a crisis and a sudden flare of conscience, but when I asked why the sudden change in tone, she just brushed it off as "nothing important."
I can't help but wonder: if there truly is an increased predisposition for cancer, shouldn't she at least mention it so I know which symptoms to watch out for? Not that I expect her to sit me down for a heart-to-heart...
Ultimately, I am quite disappointed in her, despite her being a genuinely nice person at her core.

Look, at the end of the day, you're a pretty decent person, so that's really all that matters to me.
My partner is actually quite sweet, so I definitely wouldn't let him
take a look at 🙂
screw you for suggesting a gynecologist like that
just go find a real specialist instead.

Mark Howard59 said:Man, I need a good doctor. I’m so fed up with these doctors overcharging hundreds of dollars just for a checkup, and they barely tell you anything. I feel fine right now, but I need to get my annual physical done.😢
He's great, but honestly, Dr. Ljubejović is your best bet. He has his own private clinic over on 91 Vlaška Street. I paid about $100 for a consultation with him, but he is worth every single penny.🙂

I’m also curious about the Dr. Zora Profović Clinic and the gynecologist there, Dr. Dario Majnarić. Has anyone been there? What are your experiences? How is he?

So, I’m heading over to see Dr. Sanja Gršić Buric. She runs her own private practice over on Vinogradska Street. Honestly, the office is top-tier—the nurse there is beyond kind and super efficient, too, and the doctor actually takes the time to sit down and answer every single one of your questions. She managed my pregnancy, and I was seriously thrilled with everything. The check-ups are as comfortable as they can possibly be; you don't have to deal with any of those annoying, judgmental comments you sometimes get elsewhere. The whole routine—the exam, the pap smear, and the ultrasound—was all bundled together in one go $150, assuming she hasn't bumped up her rates since the last time I checked

See, I’ve heard great things about him, and from what I gather,
the clinic where he works (is it Ginoderma?) has basically become a specialist hub for
all that HPV-related nonsense. So, here's my question: do you know if they offer testing
for other STDs besides the HPV tests, Pap smears, and standard exams? Or is that really all they focus on...

.
On the flip side, two of my close friends went there and had a pretty lousy experience. They mentioned she could be a bit standoffish and made some rather ignorant comments.
That said, I’ve also heard from a third source that her medical expertise is top-tier.

Does anyone know where I can go without needing a formal referral just to pick up an emergency morning-after pill? It’s kind of urgent!

brisknomad6 said:Any hospital that has a gynecological emergency department.
So, you mean I can just show up and they'll give me the pill or pills right then and there? I honestly thought the whole process would be way more complicated than that. Which hospitals actually have a dedicated OB/GYN emergency unit?

It’s all good, I did a quick search online and managed to track down what I needed. brisknomad6, thanks for getting back to me!

Has anyone here actually dealt with the gynecologist over at the Medveščak community health center?
#754 ·
Honestly, I can't be bothered to read through this whole thing... there's way too much back and forth already, but I was wondering if anyone here has mentioned anything about gynecologists over in St. Louis??
#755 ·
Dr. Bingula works at the Ironwood Medical Center—you know, the clinic right by the main train station! She’s a perfectly decent woman... very kind. Not part of one of those private practices either.
Dr. Bingula has actually been retired for over two years now,
and these days, Dr. Sandra Kovacevic is the one seeing patients there—though she isn't taking on any new female patients because her schedule is just completely packed...

Ugh, I’ve already asked around, but literally nothing... so if you happen to know someone decent, please let me know. So far, every single one I've dealt with has been pretty mediocre. How about you?

It was kind of an emergency situation so I was hunting for a private doctor since I’m not actually from around here in Chicago... so without any real leads or anything I just ended up booking with Dr. Matkovich and honestly, I can't find a single thing to complain about... I'm seriously thinking about staying with him long-term because all the other doctors I've dealt with in the past had such useless, half-baked advice and whatever... he actually took the time to walk me through everything and explain it clearly, which was nice... my dad should be getting back home in about ten days or so and yeah, that's pretty much the deal... I think it's all good...

Kate Rodriguez said:Everything was super urgent so I just went looking for a private specialist since I'm definitely not from the local area. I didn't really have any recommendations, so I just ended up seeing Dr. Matkovich. Honestly, I can't complain at all—I’d actually stick with him. Most of the doctors I’ve seen before just give these useless, half-baked comments, you know? He explained everything clearly and was really nice about it. Seems solid. My dad gets home in about ten days, so that's pretty much it... yeah, seems alright..
Oh, yeah, I’ve heard good things about him too. Didn't realize you were looking into private practice, though. And as for the public clinics? Haven't heard a single word about anyone decent there.
So, how much did the consultation with Matkovich run you? Did you go in for anything else besides the Pap smear?
#759 ·
Hey everyone, 🙂
I was wondering if any of you could help me out? I’m looking for a recommendation for a female gynecologist, ideally somewhere near the Volovčica area.
I’m not from around here, so I’m still trying to figure my way around town.
Thanks! 👍

Michael Jones23 said:Yeah, I heard he was decent too, but I didn't think you were talking about private doctors. As for those socialized clinics, I honestly haven't heard anything about anyone there...
How much did you end up paying for the check-up at Dr. Matkovich's office? Did you go in for anything else besides the Pap smear?
Dealing with the public clinics was such a headache because everything felt so urgent, and my old OBGYN—it's not her fault, really—but she said something that just totally set me off... so I went to see him instead...
The exam plus the Pap came to $83.
I mean, I don't know, if he's good, that doesn't seem like too much money to me...
He even sorted out my birth control right then and there, just like that...
Well, it's great if he actually has a good reputation then...
