Michael Jones23 said:It’s interesting; you see, she previously mentioned that this has to be handled by a specialist, yet she didn't actually write me a referral—that gynecologist, I mean—she just told me I had to go to a specialist, which implies I need to request a referral from my primary care physician...😕

Perhaps the most prudent course of action would be to consult your primary care doctor regarding all of these details.🙂

Nathan Smith12 said:The gynecologist was fine... but I felt like the whole thing was way too rushed. Like, history, exam, pap smear—all done in ten minutes flat and boom, we're out $100. Since I went to a private clinic, I honestly expected her to actually talk to me a bit more... I've been there twice now and it always feels like they're just rushing through the motions. On the bright side, the exam itself was comfortable, no pain and no bleeding after the pap (so I guess that's one less thing to worry about)...😲

Well, if you're curious about anything, just ask her. She’ll definitely walk you through it. They explained everything to me while they were looking at the ultrasound screen...

I honestly don't have the bandwidth to read through this whole thread right now, but from what I can gather, most of you are obsessing over big cities... does anyone actually have some solid recommendations for Split?

Thanks in advance!

Everyone keeps raving about Harni, but I noticed Dr. Shemnicki uses it too. Has anyone here actually tried it? Would love to hear some real-world experiences with it.

I’ve seen her a few times—actually, my very first checkup ever, plus two more after that. I think she’s great. Really nice, not harsh at all. Since she's younger, you can actually talk to her about whatever is on your mind. As for her medical expertise, I can't say for sure because I only went in for standard exams and didn't have any major issues... but overall, I'd recommend her. 🙂

She’s super sweet, not harsh at all, and since she’s younger, you can actually have a real conversation with her about whatever is on your mind. As for how expert she is? Hard to say, honestly, because I only ever went in for standard checkups and didn't deal with any major issues... but either way, I’d recommend 🙂

I go to her too, and she’s fine, but man, she totally messed up my results this past Friday. She noted a cyst on my left ovary when it’s actually on the right, and then she wrote down that I’d already had one birth, which is just plain wrong. Now, based on those notes, I’m supposed to head to the hospital, and in these things, left versus right makes a huge difference. Plus, that "previous birth" part is obviously a total mistake. I have to call her tomorrow, but I’m honestly stuck—I don't even know how to bring it up without it being a massive, awkward mess.

cosmiclynx10 said:I'd want to call her tomorrow, but I have no clue what to say since it’s not just some small thing...

Honestly? Just call and tell them you messed up the message. :) Though, I've been there too—I always have to run my questions by my sister first before I feel ready to dial. It’s a bit of a hurdle. :)
If all else fails, just correct the lab report yourself or tell the staff at the hospital that the results were recorded incorrectly...

Does anyone have a gynecologist they'd recommend based on social media reviews? Somewhere in the western part of the city.
Of course there are options, and most are perfectly fine.

Also, has anyone ever dealt with both Enterococcus faecalis and E. coli at the same time?
How did you manage the treatment for both?

How did you guys handle that combo?

I had E. coli in my urine once... though I'm not sure if you're talking about a standard urinalysis or a swab test?

Since I honestly don't have the energy to scroll back through every single comment from the very beginning, I’m going to need a little help here...
So, a close friend of mine just found out she's pregnant—only about six weeks along right now. She’s currently stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding her care. On one hand, she has her regular doctor at the public clinic, but he’s retiring in just three months, which means he’ll be heading out right in the middle of her pregnancy. On the other hand, there’s the option of switching to a private OB-GYN.
I actually suggested she go with a private specialist. My logic was that even if things get complicated, at least she’d have one consistent doctor overseeing everything from start to finish. Plus, the guy at the public clinic is incredibly high-strung; he acts like he’s way too busy to even answer a simple question, so you can't really talk to him. There is a new doctor coming in to replace him soon, so my friend is considering just waiting around for her.
The main hurdle is that money is pretty tight right now, though we could definitely make it work if it becomes absolutely necessary.
What do you guys think? Should she bite the bullet and find a private doctor, or stick with the public clinic and just hope the new doctor is good?
Help me out!

I don't see any reason why you can't go to private specialists while still keeping your insurance coverage. That's exactly how I handle things—if there's an emergency or if I just want a second opinion, I head straight to a private clinic.
I refuse to be stuck relying on just one single doctor for everything. One guy says this, another says that... it’s better to have options.

We’re all different people, so we need different kinds of doctors, especially when it comes to OB-GYNs... I saw Dr. Kovacevic over in the downtown area a few times once. Just a young, terrified girl meeting a woman who acted like a frustrated old lady trying to work through her own hang-ups on her patients...
So, I bailed on her and went straight to a private practice. Dr. Podobnik. The guy is a total genius, but more importantly, he actually knows his stuff. He's worth every penny. He’s even got that high-end 4D ultrasound... The only catch is his schedule is packed out two months in advance... 🙄

How did you manage the treatment for those two?

For the E. coli, I took the pills my gynecologist prescribed, along with cranberry capsules and cranberry tea.

As for the enterococcus, she told me the levels were too low to warrant any medication...

On the swab.

The doctor mentioned there wasn't enough of the infection to warrant specific pills for that part...

For both issues, I was told to take Augmentin for ten days and use vaginal suppositories.

Now that the ten days are up, I don't really feel any better. Since I went to a private specialist, I'm hesitant to spend more money on another visit (I assume it would be around $250-$133)
So, I'm looking for some advice from other women here.
Also, does anyone know a good gynecologist in the West Side of Chicago?

After getting fed up with my previous gynecologist,
I finally "discovered" Dr. Ljubojevic at
the Ginoderma clinic over on Vlaska Street—everyone keeps raving about him, and honestly, I get the hype. The guy is FANTASTIC and worth
every single penny. He’s a top-tier specialist, specifically focused on HPV, and during the exam,
they actually have this video monitor showing you exactly what he’s doing via a built-in camera. It’s pretty cool.
He cleared up my low-risk HPV, so now I’m feeling totally healthy again. 🙂 🙂

Now that those ten days are up, I don't really feel like my condition has improved much at all. Since I went to a private specialist, I’m honestly hesitant to shell out that kind of money again—I'm guessing another visit would run me about $300 or so.$133 That is why I am looking for some input from other women here.
I am also on the lookout for a solid gynecologist in the West Side area of Chicago.

Yes, there were the suppositories too; I completely blanked on those.😁

Maybe it has just been too short a window. It took a long time for me to see progress...

I was at Dr. Gudelj's clinic in Harny. She’s brilliant—totally gentle. Honestly, I didn't feel a thing during the procedure... highly recommend.

Help me out here, I need some perspectives...

So I went to my gynecologist yesterday because of this stinging and itching, and turns out it's colpitis. They put me on a seven-day course of Klimicin V antibiotic cream.
I asked if my guy needs to use anything too, and she was just like, "not for now..."
But seriously, am I really supposed to just get reinfected so he can finally start treatment too???

No intimacy until you've worked off that extra energy.
Also, honestly, a second opinion wouldn't hurt at all here.
Look, doctors aren't infallible gods walking among us.
