You're being far too soft! You really ought to have marched straight to the director of Memorial Hospital immediately and made it crystal clear that you would cause a massive scene if this ever happened again.
It is a common misconception among us that we won't receive the best possible care if we dare to complain or make a fuss, but I believe that is entirely incorrect. My mother always puts on such an incredible spectacle whenever she witnesses any sort of incompetence, and honestly, it ensures they greet her with nothing but smiles the next time she walks through those doors.
Indeed, I find myself reacting in much the same manner at my own workplace whenever someone tries to intimidate us.

To be quite honest, the administration at Memorial is already facing a terrible reputation due to their constant string of mishaps; it seems there is a new disaster every week. Whether it is a patient passing away unexpectedly or a tragic error involving a newborn, it is nothing short of a total catastrophe.

Please, don't waste your tears on private clinics; instead, go there and demand exactly what you are owed. I personally paid about forty dollars for my HPV testing fee, which is certainly a relief compared to those fifteen-hundred-dollar bills people talk about.

Megan Lopez4, just a heads-up: after you get a Pap smear and the results come back bad—or even just inconclusive—you can't just go back in for another one immediately. You have to wait for your cells to regenerate. It sounds stupid, I know, but if they scrape you again too soon, you're basically just scraping healthy tissue and getting a "perfect" result that isn't actually true. That’s why they make you wait about three months or so. Don't quote me on the exact timing, though.

Dr. Husar over at CVS. Hands down the best, most normal gynecologist out there...

So, I was looking for Marton’s clinic over in some part of Green Valley—honestly, I completely blanked on the address. It’s run by a mother and daughter duo, which is sweet, but here’s the kicker: the daughter actually specialized in oncological gynecology. Because of that, they were the first people to tell me that a Pap smear isn't enough; you really need to check ovarian cancer markers too. Seriously, I'm so grateful they brought that up.

Quick question—my memory is failing me on the specific name of that antifungal cream, you know, for yeast infections or Candida... is it Canesten?? I honestly can't wrap my head around it right now. Does anyone happen to know what the price tag looks like if you're just picking it up over the counter without a prescription?

Megan Lopez4, here’s a quick tip regarding Dr. Husar.

Regarding meds, Medazol is typically used for trichomoniasis—which is an STI, but let's be real, it's not strictly limited to that. Sometimes it can be a total nightmare to get rid of.
If you're feeling stuck, I actually picked some up at the St. Jude maternity ward, and a friend of mine got hers during delivery over at Mount Sinai.

Because this whole thing is such a headache, do yourself a favor: ask your primary care doctor for a referral to an endocrinologist and head over to Mass General. Get them to run a full panel, check your hormone levels, and whatever else they deem necessary. And don't let your GP push you around. They’re just collecting a paycheck because you're on their roster, but you have every right to switch doctors and find someone who actually knows what they're doing.

One of the common ones is indeed Canesten, and if I recall correctly, you can pick it up without a prescription for roughly $5 or $6. However, my advice would be to see a doctor first just to be certain it actually is a fungal issue. Even if it is, you might find that using vaginal suppositories provides a more effective treatment than just a topical cream.🙂

There’s such a thing as Geonistin cream. But if you want actual results, go with vaginalettes. They work faster.

I was just wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for gynecologists over at Mercy Hospital (formerly Zajcev)
...doesn't matter if they have a private practice on the side or if you see them through the hospital system. thanks!

I think we’ve probably covered this kind of topic before, maybe even a few times, but I’m not really looking for... well, look, I just want to finally go see a gynecologist. It’s about time, I guess.🙄 Not a private doctor though, but more like... the other kind.🙄 I want to go in and get on birth control pills... I've been sexually active for quite a while now.😍 But, I have some questions:
1. What exactly are they going to do to me?
2. So, do you get those with a prescription or what?
3. And, how much does it cost if it isn't at a private clinic?

Look, I’m posting this here because I’m hoping someone who’s dealt with this can give me some answers... Basically, when I'm on top during sex, it hurts like hell. It’s not even just the penetration itself—it’s more like this intense pressure hitting all my internal organs at once. It's just a super uncomfortable feeling. No joke, if you know what's going on, please help... Thanks

First things first—go talk to a doctor. They’ll probably just brush it off and tell you it’s nothing, but honestly, you’ve got absolutely nothing to lose by checking... better safe than sorry, right?
Second—it could just be that you’re swallowing too much air, which ends up messing with your pressure levels.
Third—it might just be a matter of positioning, where your anatomy just isn't quite clicking with theirs... I mean, sometimes organs are just "mismatched" for certain setups. It’s been like that for me too, though it wasn't always an issue with every guy I was with. When I was with someone a bit more "gifted," that pressure felt way more intense... and when you add the air factor into the mix, everything just feels awkward...

1. What kind of stuff are they going to do to me?
2. Uh, do you need a prescription for that, or...?
3. And how much does it cost if I'm not going to a private doctor?

So, basically, your primary care doctor has to give you a referral to see a gynecologist, and if you want to save yourself some extra trips, just ask that same doctor for a blood work referral right away. Once you get those blood results back and head to the gynecologist, they'll use all that info to figure out which specific pills are right for you, and that's pretty much the whole deal. They'll write up a little prescription for the pills, which you can take to the pharmacy—just keep in mind you'll have to pay for the medication itself regardless of whether you see a private doctor or use the public system... 😬

I’ve had the exact same issue with two different guys. I don't even think it's an "air" thing because it's just that specific position where it starts hurting and feeling all pressurized... And honestly? They weren't exactly packing much to begin with either.

Well, look, that’s just how physics works... it goes the deepest in, so obviously that’s where you’re going to feel the most, and yeah, sometimes it can actually be a bit much, you know? Because let's be real, we women aren't exactly bottomless pits...

Just so you know, Plimicol (which is essentially the same thing as Canesten, just manufactured by Pliva) usually runs about $5.00.

Well, here I am again.
Just needing to vent for a bit. I went to see my public health clinic gynecologist, and honestly, she was wonderful. She really helped calm me down and told me that since this doctor isn't some psychic, they can't just prescribe heavy-duty medications without more testing. Still, I can’t help but feel uneasy. I have PCOS, and I’ve been put on Diane 35. It feels like here in the States, getting a full hormonal blood panel to find the exact right pill is so expensive, so doctors often just guess or say, "This one is specifically for PCOS." Anyway, my primary care doctor suggested waiting until the end of summer to follow up, but I have a bad feeling that after all these shocks, I won't be getting much relief. To make matters worse, things are spiraling—I've had black stools and my thyroid seems slightly enlarged, though it's subtle. My doctor keeps telling me I need to relax because the stress is making everything worse, and it feels like my body is just reacting to the chaos. But I don't trust it. And the worst part? They didn't even run immediate tests to be sure. Instead, they just handed me Betadine wipes and Albothyl, and now it feels like I've triggered something. I didn't even have itching before, but now... oh boy, my heart is just racing. Honestly, sex is totally off the table right now—ugh, what a nightmare. We haven't been intimate in a month, and who knows when it'll be again. Believe me, I'm not exaggerating.
I just have one question for you girls: how can this suddenly pop up out of nowhere? I haven't had any symptoms or reactions for years, and then after eight years, this happens? We aren't unfaithful; we are completely devoted to each other, truly.
I'm also a little spooked by the fact that I've seen previous Pap smears where there were inflammations and squamous cells but no actual CIN. Then again, it's confusing because a friend of mine had CIN 3 but tested negative for both HPV and Chlamydia. How is that even possible? And unlike me, you could say she had a much heavier history to deal with. So, what is my situation now? Please, help me out with your thoughts. I've never actually had swabs done, and the doctor said a Pap smear like mine doesn't require further testing because it's "nothing." I'm sitting here thinking, *yeah, right.* Plus, the information from the private clinic's Pap report is so brief—it's like looking at a tiny fraction of what you get at the local community health center. The private ones seem to provide maybe three or four items, whereas the public ones have eighty! What do you guys think? I'm so confused. I actually heard a story about an acquaintance who was sent for surgery at a private clinic—she was basically finished—and they hadn't even performed swabs, just the Pap smears. It felt like a total sales pitch. But she wasn't having it and went to a doctor her partner had been seeing; he was cautious and insisted on doing the swabs to ensure she was totally clear, and now she's healthy and fine! She called me immediately once she knew. Even a doctor I know at a private clinic in a nice suburb mentioned that she should have repeated the Pap before scaring me and acting like it was a crisis. She should have explained that while it shows some minor changes, it's nothing to panic about and doesn't necessarily need treatment right away. She told me, "If I were in your shoes, I'd get the swabs done just for peace of mind." But instead, they just tell you it's fine. Why didn't she suggest checking for everything else if we're supposed to be screening thoroughly? It feels like: "Shock the patient, take their money, and let them deal with the consequences." As you can probably tell from my previous posts, I've already figured out their game.
I'm still scared, but at least I know if this doctor won't help, I'll find another private one. We'll just see how things develop.
Seriously, my doctor asked me: "What would you say if you actually had CIN 3 or 4?" Like, should I just curl up in a ball and wait for the reaction to hit?
WHAT DO YOU THINK? Has anyone had a crazy experience like this? Or anyone who had Chlamydia—how did they find out, and how long do you think it takes for it to show up?
Everything is so unclear to me. How can something stay dormant for eight years? Some doctors told me I would definitely feel symptoms if I had something active—that it would be like having a sore throat, and you'd know. Do you guys agree?
Let me know what you think. I hate being a nuisance, but I'm spinning. Sending love to everyone.
