Tyler Grant44 said:Hey guys... I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has heard of Dr. Magdic over at Mount Sinai Hospital? I've heard she's incredible with women—and even men—dealing with HPV. If anyone has any insight, please let me know... thanks in advance!

I actually see Dr. Magdic at Mount Sinai myself (though not for HPV), and I can tell you she is hands down the best OBGYN I've ever visited, and I've seen quite a few. She's super kind and really takes her time with you. During my first appointment, we were in there for 45 minutes, which is a huge change from those private clinics where they rush you out the door in 15 $133. I'm not sure if she specializes specifically in HPV, but overall, she’s highly recommended👍

I highly recommend Dr. Findri Gustek. She’s fantastic—seriously, top-tier. You can find her over in Seswat.

Olivia Lopez10 said:and I actually ordered mine from Dr. Miller.

Look, while all these stories about infant mortality are absolutely gut-wrenching—and they are—there are undoubtedly hundreds of babies out there who are perfectly healthy and thriving. I’m not trying to excuse anyone's mistakes here, but people mess up sometimes—it's just that when they do, the consequences are obviously devastating.

Honestly, I don't even know how to process all this. It feels a bit ridiculous how someone can be doing everything right, and then one sensationalist headline in a tabloid ruins everything.

And now I've completely lost my train of thought—what was I even trying to say?

Well, I spent two weeks in the hospital because of Dr. Miller... so I'm not exactly talking about some clickbait headlines in a newspaper. I'm speaking from actual experience...

I'm not even from the city, but I just have to give my gynecologist a shout-out🙂

Dr. Vlastelic—he’s a guy, which is always a bit different—but I’ve been seeing him since day one and I don't see myself ever switching. We usually chat for a bit first just to break the ice and relax, I guess. I still remember my first visit; I was such a nervous wreck when I walked in, totally tense, and he managed to calm me down immediately... It is a little weird to think he might be an assistant in the OBGYN department in a few years, though😁
But whatever, I just feel this sense of closeness with him, almost like we're buddies. Still, he’s one of only two people who actually know what's going on down there

Has anyone actually dealt with Dr. Latin Višnja before??? I met a woman who wouldn't stop raving about her—it actually got me thinking🙄 . Apparently, her schedule is always packed, so now...... I'm wondering if anyone here has some firsthand experience with her!!

Look, I'll admit it—you're right. But I did my internship over at Bezbrij, and there’s a HUGE difference... it's not everyone, obviously, but for the vast majority? It's definitely true. Or maybe I just happened to run into a bunch of idiots... I mean, while the woman is actually there, everything is perfect—but the second she leaves...

I really can't recommend Dr. Miller over at Mayo Clinic enough because he is absolutely incredible, truly gentle with his patients, and he actually takes the time to answer every single question you have while being completely upfront about everything you need to know, so he's just honestly wonderful.

Joshua Clark said:I highly recommend Dr. Findri Gustek. She’s an excellent female doctor. FANTASTIC. Located in Sesvete.

Good grief, save us all. I saw her for years—years!—and honestly, she was just... fine, I guess? Everything was "normal," but there was zero actual therapy involved. It was always the same old tired rhetoric: men are all trash, if you aren't using a condom you're being naive, if you suspect cheating you're just being foolish—it was constant. My husband and I use protection religiously, because, you know, who knows who else is out there these days? It’s exhausting. And the medical advice? Terrible. I have two close friends—practically sisters—who both have a family history of cervical cancer, and when they were diagnosed with CIN 2, she didn't even suggest treatment. Just told them it would probably clear up on its own. Spontaneous recovery? Please. I’ve even heard whispers about women losing babies under her care... chills, truly. Look, I was lucky enough to avoid major complications, but she wasn't helpful to me at all. Not to mention waiting three or four months just to get my test results back. That was the standard.

I suppose every OB-GYN has some sort of crazy urban legend attached to them, but she just wasn't right for me, period. Every time I asked a serious question, she’d burst out laughing or tell me not to overthink things instead of actually giving me an answer. One friend went in because of warts that the doctor didn't even notice—she ended up switching to another doctor immediately because of that oversight, and that guy😱

Not to mention the clinic seems to attract a lot of elderly women from rural areas—some of whom, frankly, don't seem to prioritize hygiene, which makes me uneasy about the clinical standards there.

Anyway, that’s just my experience.👎

Hey there! So, I just flew through about 32 pages 🙂 of all your advice and replies—seriously, some of you have dropped absolute gems! I’ve only got one little thing left on my mind, though, and it’s about the gynecologists over at the university clinic (the one in downtown Chicago). I’ve heard rumors that one guy there can be pretty vulgar—like, totally out of line—while another one is actually decent. Apparently, they even brought on a female doctor recently, but I don't know anyone who has actually seen her yet.
Is anyone here seeing the doctors at the uni clinic? What’s been your experience like?

Heyyyy!

No actual therapy, just constant comments like all men are trash, or if you aren't using a condom, you're an idiot for thinking he isn't cheating... yeah, my husband and I use condoms too, who knows who she's been sleeping with lately... stuff like that. Two close friends of mine—basically sisters—who have a family history of cervical cancer, were told with CIN 2 that they didn't need any treatment because it would just go away on its own. I even heard stories about women losing babies under her care... yikes. Look, I didn't have major issues personally, but she wasn't helpful at all. Not to mention I waited three or four months just for basic test results. That's pretty much it.

I mean, I get that every OBGYN has some crazy reputation floating around, but she just wasn't right for me, period. Whatever I asked, she’d just crack up laughing and tell me not to overthink it instead of actually answering. One friend's warts weren't even detected by her, which led to her switching to another doctor, and that guy😱

not to mention she sees a lot of older women from rural areas—people who might not be the most sophisticated or strictly follow hygiene protocols, if you catch my drift.

Anyway, that's just my experience.👎

That's interesting. Honestly, it surprises me—explain everything to me in detail, please... I don't know. On the other hand, I have this weird feeling she's a total panicker; she calls me to check in and ask how things are going, even though we basically don't even know each other. That part really throws me for a loop.

I’ve been wondering where the best place is to get an HPV test done, because I’ve heard from several people that a lot of gynecologists don't actually include that screening as a standard part of a Pap smear—they only run it if they notice something suspicious during the exam...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable gynecologist or specialist in the downtown area?
I just moved here, so my knowledge of the different neighborhoods is still pretty limited, so I'd prefer someone located close to the city center!🙂

Hello there!

I already shared my own experience regarding Dr. Topalovic 👎 and I certainly would not go back to him even if he were the last doctor on Earth! As for the others, I simply do not know.

Oh boy, this is the very first post I've read in this thread, and I have to agree... the guy handles things like a butcher rather than an OB-GYN.👎

I find myself wondering—if anyone happens to be in the loop—who has stepped into Dr. Gregov's shoes over at the university? If my memory serves me correctly, isn't it another woman taking the reins this time? And more importantly, what has the consensus been regarding her performance so far? 😁
