Can anyone recommend a good gynecologist in the Cleveland area? Ideally someone who is great with younger patients...

Jamie Newman4 said:I’d like to jump in here and echo everything the other ladies have been saying about Dr. Ljubojević over at Ginoderme. He is truly top-tier. He has this incredibly composed demeanor—very calm and collected—and he’s gentle, too. Plus, he actually has a great sense of humor, which makes the whole experience much better. He isn't overpriced, either. He walks you through everything clearly on the monitor right in front of you so you aren't left guessing. From what I've gathered, he's also one of the few true specialists out there when it comes to HPV infections. 👍

It really is—gentle. 🙂

It’s always such a frustrating experience when you go to your gynecologist and feel like they’re just being completely clinical and detached. It feels like they’re just performing a procedure without any actual sensitivity or care for what you're going through. You end up feeling totally numb and disregarded during the exam. 🙄 He thinks he’s making an impact when he speaks. He really does. Smooth and steady. That is how you handle things. No rush, no fuss. Just pure, seamless motion. Everything is working perfectly. That’s exactly it. It is settled. 😁 I used to be firm about one thing: I would never step foot in a male gynecologist's office. Now, my perspective has completely shifted. Honestly, I wouldn’t dream of seeing a female doctor anymore either. 😁

He is honestly incredibly calm. It’s almost unsettling how he carries himself, constantly offering these breezy reassurances like, "We'll get it sorted, don't worry, everything is going to be fine." 🙏

Well, I guess it’s not like they’re all exactly like that. 😁 If we were actually friends, I guess I’d be driving a Rolls-Royce right about now. 😁)

Women are one way, men are another... I guess. A decent gynecologist is a decent gynecologist... I guess there's really no reason to be afraid of seeing women. 🙏 🙏 It’s pretty obvious which way I lean, I guess. 🤣 )

I haven't actually tried all of them 😁 But look, when my doctor handles things with that "just deal with it" attitude, you practically have to schedule a Pap smear and just brace yourself. I end up looking ridiculous because I'm trying to explain what's bothering me while she's just telling me to stop being dramatic. This one, however, is incredibly attentive. She actually cares about making sure I'm comfortable. With the other lady, it was just a total rush—basically, "come on, grit your teeth, quit the drama." 😁

The other one was just rushing through it like, "come on, grit your teeth, don't make a scene." 😁

What kind of psychological profile does a man have if he chooses OB-GYN as his specialty of all things?! 🤔 😁 😁

I don't think I'll ever truly understand it (and I mean that without being malicious). 🤣

If I were choosing for men, I’d tell them to go into surgery! Okay, 😁 fine, maybe plastic surgery 😂...

I haven't used Sunce, but I have been to Medicole. Honestly, I'd recommend them to everyone.

Calling for help from the ladies in Miami!! I know there might have been a thread about this before, but could one of you recommend a top-tier female gynecologist with a private practice here in the city? Thanks in advance.

Jamie Newman4 said:I heard the exact same thing from a few friends: they went there and were charged an absolute fortune after being given completely wrong diagnoses—it’s honestly appalling. 😢One friend even echoed your sentiment, saying she hasn't experienced such intense paranoia and fear-mongering in a long time.

Then you have someone else who is absolutely thrilled with them.

On another note, I would join all the women here praising Dr. Ljubojević over at Ginoderme—he is truly fantastic, incredibly calm, gentle, and has just the right amount of humor without being overpriced. He explains everything beautifully on the monitor while you're looking at it together. From what I've gathered, he's one of the few true specialists when it comes to HPV infections. 👍

I actually went to Sun Health yesterday and decided to just walk away. Since May, they've implemented this rule where no matter which insurance plan you pick (even the expensive ones!), you still end up paying out of pocket for every single follow-up. So, instead of dealing with that, I'll just keep struggling through months of physical therapy sessions across town and praying they finally authorize my MRI. As for the OBGYN, I've read so many glowing reviews for Dr. Ljubojević; I'm just wondering how much his exams cost, specifically for chlamydia and HPV swabs?
And hey, I noticed they offer exams for men too, so I could easily drag my dear husband along for a checkup...

So, I’m heading over to Dr. Zrinke Maleš Mihanović's office at 37C, 358-808.
She’s a younger doctor—really open, easy to talk to, and down-to-earth. My GP actually sent me her way since she goes to her too.

So, I’ll be stuck dealing with these physical therapy sessions for months in Shafter, just praying they finally send me for an MRI. As for the gynecologist, I’ve read plenty of good things about Dr. Johnson, but does anyone know how much he charges for a standard exam and testing for Chlamydia or HPV?
And yeah, I noticed they do male exams too, so I might just bring my better half along for the ride...

I’ve had an exam with Dr. Johnson before $67. I’m not sure what his specific rates are for swabs—your best bet is to just call and ask. 😉 From what I know, he won't order tests unless there’s a legitimate reason. In my experience, he isn't the type to "empty your wallet" without doing a thorough examination and taking a full history first.

By the way, you can check the pricing at a private lab here; those are usually the ballpark figures private doctors stick to since they often have deals with the clinics: http://www.moderna-dijagnostika.com/us/pricing/index.asp

Anything outside those ranges is just pure profit.

I believe the Pap smear is around $100, but I'm not sure about the swabs. And yes, he sees male patients; I'm planning on going myself 😁

I completely forgot to book my appointment for Monday 😵

I'm planning to see Dr. Grujić privately—I haven't been back in about a year, but I'm heading there next month.
My primary care doctor is Dr. Kovačević, though she’s just not a good fit for me...
Since I’ll need to run a whole battery of tests, I really need referrals.
The thing is, Dr. Kovačević barely gave me one referral last year after I mentioned I was seeing someone privately—she ended up being pretty condescending about it because using a referral meant paying $67 less.
I get why she might be annoyed—honestly, I probably would be too—but isn't she legally required to provide those referrals upon request? I'm on a tight budget, but we're struggling with fertility issues right now, and I have a lot of faith in Dr. Grujić... so I'm stuck.
I want to switch to a different doctor, but not necessarily for regular checkups—just strictly for the referrals.
Is there a doctor out there who won't judge? Someone I can be upfront with about seeing a specialist privately and just coming in occasionally for paperwork or prescriptions...
I heard there's a Dr. Wahid over at the Trnje Community Clinic? Is that true?
Please help!

Does such a doctor actually exist??? Girls, I am seriously desperate here!

Mine is just like that—Dr. Duck over at the Maksimir Health Center. I guess that setup works perfectly for him, though. He gets to dodge the heavy lifting, and honestly, he seems way more interested in padding his books with "formal" female patients. Half the time, it’s just the nurse signing off on all the referrals and prescriptions anyway.🙄
Man, that’s rough, but honestly? It looks like that’s exactly what you’re after. 😘 .

That’s awful, but honestly sounds exactly like what you’re looking for 😘 .

That is straight-up not true!! That guy is a total nightmare! I usually go private to see Dr. Tadić, and last year when I needed some referrals, he practically refused to give them to me. Told me he’s the only one who decides which tests I need... then proceeded to trash all the other gynecologists. Now I’m also looking for someone to switch to.

I mean, sure, you might run into a few doctors like that, but honestly? Your primary care doc isn't exactly obligated to hand out referrals or prescriptions through your insurance if they don't think you actually need them after an exam. And man, trying to go to one private specialist and then asking a different doctor for the referral papers? That’s just not how it works. Most doctors I know won't touch that, mostly because why would they take on all that extra paperwork and hassle for nothing? Plus, let's be real—if someone actually has the cash to fly out to a private specialist, they can probably afford to handle the rest of their medical stuff too, right?
I mean, honestly? That works for me! I’m totally fine with it, I guess. No biggie at all!

Is this a private practice, or does she take insurance?

Besides what she said, you got any other beef with this doctor? 🤔

Also, is his sister actually decent? She was being super nice to me today...👍

Better late than never, I suppose—though the delay was certainly noticeable—but honestly, even if it arrives behind schedule, it’s still absolutely fantastic.
