Over in a town like [City Name], you’ve got two purely private gynecologists—they run their own independent practices, yet both still accept standard health insurance... I personally see Dr. Varga and I'm quite satisfied with the care, though there is one minor hiccup: you have to pay out-of-pocket for the Pap smears and ultrasounds, which runs about $33... plus, his nurse—who happens to be his wife, by the way—is frequently leaning against the left wall smoking right there in the waiting room
\\>Everyone else seems to operate out of the main hospital, though at least half of them offer private consultations if you're willing to pay cash.

I have to admit, my experiences with gynecologists have been pretty rough. It’s hard to say—they either seem incredibly rushed, moving like they're on a conveyor belt, or they act like they're the smartest people in the room. My first visit was to a clinic in New York, I think it was called Bates. The woman there worked like she was in a coal mine; the exam left me in so much pain, honestly. To top it off, she was completely tech-illiterate. She missed a single word while typing my report, and instead of just hitting backspace, she opened an entirely new document and started from scratch.
Then there was another one near San Francisco. I had CIN I, then II, and she made such a huge scene about it likely being cancer. I was absolutely terrified. When the results finally came back showing it wasn't cancer, she just brushed it off with a nonchalant, "Everything's fine, see you in a year." She didn't even care about the panic she caused me. I switched doctors immediately.
On a brighter note, I've had some good ones too. There's a specialist in Miami—I can't recall his name, but everyone knows him—his office is right by the station. He was phenomenal, and I've never had a more comfortable exam. Another great one was in SF, an Iranian doctor who is always experimenting; he’s actually patented several new procedures and pieces of equipment.

It’s honestly such a huge mistake to skip out on those routine gynecological exams and annual Pap tests—most issues, like cervical cancer, are totally preventable or curable if you just catch them early enough.

Hey ladies, we all love getting intimate with our guys, but when it comes to staying healthy...

You’re spot on, Walter Cox5, but I honestly think a huge part of it comes down to just having absolutely terrible, painful experiences with gynecologists in the past. I used to have to practically force myself to go because the exams were such a nightmare. Ever since I started seeing Dr. Harris, though, I haven't missed an appointment—I go once a year, no questions asked. But when a close friend of mine got diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer, it really changed my perspective. Now? I’m at the clinic every six months without fail.

Walter Cox5, you're spot on. I often hear friends say, "Ugh, I really don't want to go to the gynecologist..." but then, if something actually goes wrong, the story shifts to, "Oh man, why didn't I go sooner?" Ladies, just think about how many people they see every single day; one extra visit isn't going to matter at all.

I'm currently out in New Zealand, and thank God I have insurance coverage for my checkups, because when you're over here, you definitely want to go private to see the best specialists. 🙂

As for how often one should go—unfortunately, I really ought to be going every six months, but I end up just making it once a year... It isn't that the doctors or the exams are the issue, it’s just that whenever I actually stop to think about it and try to carve out the time... ugh...

So, I headed over to the university health clinic. At first, I was seeing this lady who was supposed to be a specialist, but honestly, her gynecological skills were so questionable 👎 that you’d have been better off going to a veterinarian
to get checked out...
By pure luck, though, I ended up seeing a male doctor this time, Dr. Topalovic. He’s absolutely fantastic. He handled both my first and second pregnancies. For the second one, he actually sent me over to the Mayo Clinic for my tests just to make sure I wouldn't be poked and prodded unnecessarily like I was during the first round. Everything went smooth as silk. Whatever I ask him, he breaks it down perfectly—way more detail than I even need. Plus, if I call his direct line, he always picks up and helps me out. For now, all I can say is he's the best. 👍 👍

I had a horrific experience with Dr. Jasenko Grujić-Koračin. A few years back, during my sophomore year of college, I missed my period. I went to an old clinic on Kleanow Street, and she was the one who saw me. I’ll never forget her cold expression—it was matched only by how clinical and detached the exam felt. Her only words to me were: "YOU'RE PREGNANT." Given that I knew the timing was nowhere near my fertile window, I was stunned. Her very next question? "Are you going to keep it?" I said "NO" immediately. She didn't ask follow-up questions or offer support; she just told me to contact the nurse for instructions. I can't even describe how I felt walking out of that office. It felt like I had just admitted to some scandalous crime instead of being a terrified student. Thankfully, the nurse saw I was in shock and offered some comfort, telling me everything would be okay. I don't even remember getting home; I just wandered through the city feeling like I'd been physically beaten. If anyone else has gone through something similar, you know that hollow feeling. The next day, I went to Mercy Hospital. They ran a pregnancy test—something a "specialist" should have known wasn't necessary—and lo and behold, it was negative. After some more tests, I started bleeding and ended up being admitted. Long story short: I wasn't pregnant. It was just a hormonal imbalance. They cleared everything up, and I was fine. I'm not saying doctors can't make mistakes, but this woman lacked any shred of humanity. I was only twenty, my entire world had collapsed, and thank God I didn't do something reckless. Even now, thinking about it makes my skin crawl.
Now, I’m seeing a gynecologist I actually trust, and I recommend him to everyone—especially young women who haven't built up their defenses against the creeps out there yet. Dr. Lepušić 👍

What makes you think private practice is the only way to get top-tier service?

The same doctors work in both public and private practices over here in New Zealand and Australia.

That’s just how the system works there.

I went to a former clinic on Klaićeva Street and she saw me. I’ll never forget how cold her expression was, and the exam felt just as icy.

😲 Are you absolutely sure it was her?? I mean, I see her over at Zvijezda (she’s in private practice now) and I’m beyond satisfied... I’ve had all sorts of experiences before finding her, and it was really important for me to find a gynecologist I could actually talk to about everything on my mind, rather than someone who just rushes you out the door after a quick procedure... Anyway, I found her, I've been going to her for a couple of years now, and everything is great. She's very patient (especially when answering all my, well, somewhat repetitive😁 questions) and she isn't rude at all... I tend to praise her everywhere I go, so your experience totally caught me off guard.😢
They cleaned out my uterus and everything turned out fine.

I'm not quite sure I follow what happened to you exactly?

😲Are you absolutely sure they were talking about her?

I'm 100% certain.

As for that "kindness" you mentioned, a colleague of mine sees her privately too and is happy with the service. Clearly, the lady knows how to be polite when there's a private fee involved. 🤮

Thank God my OBGYN is just as pleasant toward the girls coming into his clinic through the public system at Mount Sinai.🙂

Hey everyone.
I’ve been reading through these posts. Most of it feels familiar—partly from my own experience, partly from things friends have mentioned.
Jesse Wells10, the name Dr. Lepušić rings a bell, though I can't recall who actually recommended him. Is this the junior or senior doctor? Where was he practicing before?

Kyle Nguyen16 said:I'd rather just pay annually. $133 I’d much rather pay for a full private checkup—you know, the whole works, Pap smear, vaginal ultrasound, all that—than deal with my regular OBGYN through social security. I don't need to be lectured or torn apart while stuck on that disgusting exam table.

Same here. Had a total nightmare with the gynecologist at the Student Union clinic—you know, that one right across from the mosque. 😲 🤮

Like the first one—just lying there with your legs spread toward the open window. 😲 And another thing—that woman was a total predator. She shoved that metal rod inside me so hard I saw stars, then when she pulled it out, she pinched me with it. I was bleeding everywhere. To this day, I’ve still got the scar, and it still stings me right there whenever it feels like it. 😲

And the grand finale—the rectal exam! 😲 🙄

That was my first time seeing a gynecologist, and honestly? It was disgusting. I didn't even dare go for five years before I finally worked up the nerve last year. 🙄 Even the private clinics in Kansas City are just like that. Great. 👍 I didn't even feel a thing. Plus, you get a color Doppler ultrasound and you're immediately next in line to get spit on. $100. 😎

Good grief, where on earth did you find that heifer at the mall?! There’s a seriously hot guy over there, but looks like you beat him to the punch!

And that *** totally flashed through my mind immediately!! 🙂 😁

Believe it or not, this total smoke-show was hitting on my attractive little friend about 8 years ago back when he was working at some local clinic!! I think they talked a few times, but as for actually seeing each other—who knows!! Basically, he’s a massive player and gets bored of women fast.
But hey, that’s got nothing to do with his actual medical credentials, just an "off the cuff" observation..
Everyone in those white coats is a player. And don't take that "everyone" too literally.😉

E... I can't quite recall who recommended him, but I think I'll reach out and ask if he's actually such a charmer (or a total player, as you all put it).
Well... now I'm second-guessing whether I should even bother going to see him.
I have recommendations for two others, though.

I don't think it’s particularly right to be airing these kinds of things about people in a public forum.

Whoa, so your friend likes talking to older guys? Or maybe even meeting up??!! And with an OBGYN, no less. That's pretty twisted. Besides, he doesn't seem like that type to me at all...

My sister’s got a thing for older guys, and honestly, they’re totally into her! 😁
Maybe the guy finally chilled out. Good for him...

Btw, why is everyone acting like it's some huge perversion that he's my doctor, especially since I used to date him way back when?! We hadn't spoken in like a hundred years, then I started having kids and thought it was perfectly fine to track him down again. Thanks to him, my pregnancies were totally stress-free, and nobody thinks it's weird that we had a history. We're cool with each other, but "sparks" flying? NO WAY! He’s a strictly professional physician and just a decent human being, and I'm not some clueless kid anymore.
To me, the real perversion is seeing this degenerate trend among young girls lately—they are absolutely obsessed with married men!! Now THAT is a societal sickness, not the fact that I'm getting an exam from someone I used to kiss.
