Sean Vaughn8 said:Taking calcium and magnesium supplements a few days before my period really helps ease the symptoms for me. Just a daily dose of minerals—nothing crazy.

And how heavy is your flow usually?
I’m honestly just asking because I wonder if this might offer even a tiny bit of relief for those of us dealing with truly abnormal levels of pain... I know pain is subjective, of course, but I don't think there's much comparison between someone who can go about their day with their period and those of us who are practically bedridden or unable to move because the cramps are just so overwhelming...

So—should I head to my primary care physician for the prescription, or would a gynecologist be the better bet?🤷

The real frustration is that, according to my charts, apparently I don't have any underlying health issues that would justify the level of pain I'm feeling.🙄

My OB-GYN mentioned I have a few ovarian cysts, but nothing major—nothing that poses a real threat to my health.🤔 BUT she can't explain why I get these sudden, sharp stabs of pain in my ovaries a few times every month, nor can she tell me why my period has been running 10 to 12 days late for the last four months, especially since it was perfectly regular for years.

And when the pain hits, it hits hard. From day one to day three, I’m basically out of commission. No classes, no grabbing coffee, no walks—nothing. It's just bed-bathroom-bed.🙂

Even standard over-the-counter stuff, like Advil or Aleve, doesn't touch it. I would be absolutely thrilled if I could get some actual, effective medication.🙏 Because honestly, I'm done popping five or six Ibuprofens a day just to cope...

I don't know, have you tried Ketorolac?
I went through the exact same thing with Ibuprofen, taking five or six a day. Then I switched to Ketorolac, and now I only need two or three. Usually just one in the morning and one before bed or in the evening.

Eurybia, Ketonal, or Knavon—honestly, they’re all essentially the same thing regardless of which manufacturer puts their label on it. I actually just received my shipment today, and let me tell you, 🤣 I popped two of them at once, and within fifteen minutes, that absolutely soul-crushing pain that had me slumped over, convinced I was about to pass out, finally subsided. 😁

Ladies, is anyone here taking BlokMax Lady? I have no idea if it actually works. I usually take Ketoral, but since I can't get my hands on that without a prescription lately, I picked up this BlokMax instead—and honestly, it’s useless. 🤷 Plus, I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and I'm terrified to take two at once because the instructions mention an increased risk of a heart attack. I can't even find any Voltaren anymore, and this pain is absolutely tearing me apart, almost like I'm in labor. Should I just take another one?

She’s heading straight to her GP to ask for a prescription for Ketonal or Knavon. 🤷 Personally, I wouldn't dream of messing around with unverified substances like that. 😳

So, I finally popped some Ketoral—honestly, they really did us dirty with those prescription requirements. 😢 It’s not like I usually go out of my way to buy pills I’ve never tried before, but when the pain was hitting me that hard, I would have swallowed rat poison just to get some relief.
Now I see it says ibuprofen underneath, and I’ve heard stories about how those can be linked to heart issues and stuff like that.
Well, I guess we know now that these things are about as effective as candy. 😬

It’s just absurd... you can't buy Ketoral without a script because they claim it's "hard on the stomach," yet they let you buy this other stuff that "increases heart attack risk" without a second thought. It really makes you wonder about the logic behind our laws.☕

Well, here I am joining the club!
For the first three years, I didn't have any pain at all, and then suddenly—Lord help me—everything changed. It hurts, it pulls, it cramps... I don't even know how to describe it...
My doctor prescribed me Ketoral (she gave me the Forte ones for when the pain is unbearable, and the milder ones for the duller moments), and since it was a prescription, it didn't cost me a dime.
I should mention that, just like Benjamin Robinson3, I’m still technically a kid (only 16), but even so, nobody ever warned me that this stuff would wreck my stomach. If anything, she actually recommended them (though, to be fair, I showed up to her office half-conscious from the pain and everything else -.-')

It really depends on how you usually handle meds. Thank God I don't have any issues, but whenever I give my dad some Advil, he's stuck on the toilet for three days straight.😬
I'm guessing you aren't paying for them because you're under 18? How does that even work?

Fine, I take my meds, but it seems weird that doctors won't prescribe anything for my stomach.
Actually, they wouldn't even let me take certain things because of my kidneys—I had a tumor, so now I only have one working kidney that I really need to protect. Because of that, I only take a pill when I absolutely can't stand the pain anymore, and I try not to exceed one tablet a day, though that's often impossible...
And yeah, that's probably why I'm not paying...

My doctor actually recommended those same pills to me a while back—and man, before I started them, the pain was absolutely killing me. Like, seriously exhausting. Getting a prescription for them is a total breeze, though. But ugh, yeah... I know they can be brutal on your kidneys. Such a bummer. 😢 Maybe give that Ketonal/Actron stuff a shot—I'm not sure how many milligrams you usually take, but personally, I just grab one 100mg tablet a day and it does the trick for me. Just make sure you keep some of those liquid pain relief drops on hand as a backup! There are even herbal options out there—definitely check with your doctor first though, they'll know better what's safe for you. 🙂

I have both the 50mg and 100mg doses. I only reach for the 100mg when the pain gets absolutely unbearable and I just can't take it anymore, but I try my best not to exceed 100mg total per day. Thank God I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I aim to push through as much as I possibly can.
I heard those drops are actually decent, so I'll be sure to ask her about them regardless...

I need three shots of espresso a day—for two days straight.
Anything else is useless.
Otherwise, my intake is standard.
It’s always been this way.
And I get my prescription without any issues.

Nothing seemed to touch the pain when I dealt with heavy periods. It was debilitating—I’d be pale, breaking out in cold sweats, and even light and sound became unbearable. I tried everything from hot water treatments and heating pads to sipping hot tea, and I would grab whatever painkiller happened to be within reach. There were days I’d take six, seven, or even eight pills just to get through. I ended up in the ER more than once.

And believe me, I’m not the type to complain about every little ache or pain.

Ever since I started taking Yasmin, the pain has almost entirely vanished. 😍 I might still have one bad month here or there, maybe once or twice a year, but it’s nothing compared to what I used to endure. For me, this has been an incredibly effective way to manage the discomfort. 👍

For me, injections were the only thing that really worked. I had to go in every month because I was essentially functioning in a complete fog at work. Eventually, alternative medicine helped get me back on track.

Ibuprofen really does the trick for me 😍
It kicks in fast, which is my absolute priority since the pain makes me feel like I’m about to pass out... but then again, you ladies all know exactly how that feels, don't you? 🙄
Ugh, why on earth do we women have to endure so much... 😠
Hang in there, girl! 👍

I actually got it, and honestly, I wasn't even hurting 🤔 All I felt were those little cramps—you know, that dull ache you get a day or two before the real destruction starts. But here’s the kicker: 😬 I just finished a heavy course of horse antibiotics yesterday. Is it possible that’s why I’m feeling fine? It feels like the only logical explanation, but does anyone actually know the science behind why that might be? 😁

Ladies, does anyone else get these mild cramps a few days before your period actually starts?

As if dealing with the actual cramps on day one isn't enough, and then having them again the next day—now lately, I’ve been getting these cramps a couple of days early. 🙄 Sure, they’re way milder than when my period actually hits, but it still gets on my nerves.

Before I dive into this, I need about three days to get my head straight and prepare. 🙂 I've been dealing with everything from these sharp, cutting pains to intense cramping and just an overwhelming sense of exhaustion.

So you’re having a blast too, huh? 😬 Just my luck—of course the uterine cramps decide to team up with intestinal issues today. Now I’m basically sprinting to the bathroom every thirty minutes. Greatness.

Being a woman is just wonderful. 🙂
