Nalgesin seems alright, I think I saw some advertisement claiming it was specifically designed for menstrual cramps, so I picked some up and I've been sticking solely to that for a few months now.
But honestly, my dear millennials, 😠 how long does it actually take for that stuff to kick in? I tried a little "experiment" over a couple of cycles, and for me, it doesn't even begin to soothe the pain until about four or five hours later. 🙂 I’m basically dying by then.
That being said, it is a decent medication; if I can just manage to take one tablet on the first day, I can usually tough it out until the end without needing another dose, so I suppose I am satisfied—aside from the fact that it takes nearly half a day to actually work.
🙂

Yes, that’s the one, it's 275 mg.

Hi there!
A quick note regarding Nalgesin L.
It’s actually mentioned in the instructions, by the way.
If you're dealing with really intense pain, I guess you take 2 tablets at once, and then maybe one more tablet after 6 hours have passed.
Regardless of how much you weigh, the limit is 3 tablets a day.
There you go.

I was wondering if any of you ladies have tried these Femminesse Macharmony tablets? I've been seeing ads for them everywhere. They look pretty pricey, but they claim to help with period cramps, PMS, and all that stuff. Personally, my monthly cycle is just brutal—heavy bleeding, intense pain, basically can barely stand up most of the time. The packaging says they're all-natural, so I'm thinking about grabbing some. I guess I'd love to hear if anyone here has actually used them before and what you thought.

How much do they cost? 🙂 I think I should start taking these tablets about 8 or 9 days before my period starts. It varies for me depending on the month, but this time the pain is just unbearable 🙂 And for the first time, my breasts are actually painful to the touch.

I can't even sleep on my stomach 🙂 🙂

I feel you. For me, it’s almost every single month, about a week before my period. The only way I can actually get some sleep is by lying on my stomach. 🙂 🙂

So, here’s the thread on Femmenessence. A few girls were mentioning they tried it and actually saw results, so go check out their experiences if you want. 🙂 Link to the thread

I honestly can’t wrap my head around what our gynecologists actually do, and I am just so incredibly fed up with this entire healthcare system. It feels like their one-size-fits-all solution for every single issue is just slapping a prescription for birth control on you; they treat it like a magic wand for everything. When I ask why I’m in so much pain—especially when my scans don't show cysts or anything else out of the ordinary—they just shrug and say, "Well, that’s just how it is for some women..." Like, excuse me? That is not okay, period. And because it was never "normal" for me to be in agony and have to swallow handfuls of painkillers just to function, I decided to take matters into my own hands and dig into the actual causes of this pain. Has anyone else in your family—maybe your mom, an aunt, or your grandma—dealt with this? I get the feeling that women didn't struggle nearly as much back in the day, but now it seems like everyone I know is suffering through debilitating pain, PCOS, hormonal acne, and all that stuff.
After fifteen years of dealing with pain so intense I couldn't even make it through a school day, I am finally living pain-free. My hormonal acne has cleared up, and all of this happened simply because I made some tweaks to my diet, added a few supplements (which I’ve mentioned before), and started doing some light workouts at home. Seriously, why didn't my doctor ever suggest any of this? Not even a simple hormone panel or anything helpful—just the same old story about contraception over and over again.

My daughter-in-law has recently started drinking a tea made from valerian and lovage. She claims that her abdominal cramps have decreased significantly, almost vanishing entirely; however, because of the valerian, she has to treat herself immediately after drinking it, as she experiences dizziness and feels she must breathe rapidly just to clear her head.

Ladies, valerian is slightly toxic—please be extremely careful with it!

Honestly, Ali, what kind of nonsense is that? 😁
I take Vrkuta every single day—except during my period—and I’ve never had an issue. Besides, the instructions say to take it three times a day. So, I don't think Vrkuta is "slightly toxic"; I think your daughter-in-law is just being "slightly sensitive," to put it mildly. 😁

I also drank Vrkut for a little while—and honestly, I didn't feel a single thing from it.
😕Where on earth are you getting the idea that it's toxic?

Honestly, I despise writing reviews for any kind of product, let alone over-the-counter pills, but I have to say that Nalgesin L was a total lifesaver for me. For twenty years, I’ve been wrestling with cramps—the kind of intense, maddening pain that wakes you up in the middle of the night and leaves you feeling completely out of it. I spent years cycling through Voltaren and Ketoral, and when those stopped working, I turned to massive amounts of caffeine, which ended up absolutely wrecking my stomach and nearly landing me in the ER. With Nalgesin, I took two tablets on the first day, and then just one every six to eight hours after that. It's currently the second day of my period; I took a pill at 8:00 AM, and I still don't feel any pain 😍. Under normal circumstances, I’d probably be curled up somewhere right now, just whimpering in pain—not that I’m exaggerating
.
I generally loathe pharmaceutical companies with a passion, but in all honesty, if I didn't feel compelled to send them a formal letter of thanks, I wouldn't😁. Regardless, you might want to give it a shot; it made a world of difference for me😉.

I’ve always found it a bit peculiar how Nalgesin requires you to take two tablets at once just to get any actual relief. 🙂 I really try to keep my pill count to an absolute minimum whenever possible, but then I’m faced with the dilemma of having to swallow two of them right off the bat if I go that route....
For instance, last month I decided to skip the Nalgesin entirely and opted for Neofen Forte instead—just a single tablet—and honestly, it was absolutely perfect; the relief kicked in in about twenty minutes, and that was the end of it for the entire cycle. 😍

I'm not entirely sure why they suddenly switched to two at once either, but honestly, I'm at a point where I just don't care—I just want the pain to stop. It’s my third day of my period, and I've downed a total of four pills, which feels like nothing compared to the twenty cups of Starbucks 😠

I really wouldn't want to sound like a high-priced defense attorney or a spokesperson for Nalgesin, but I genuinely think this stuff is a miracle! When I remember that sensation of your stomach feeling like it's being scorched by all those pills, yet the actual pain is still driving you absolutely insane 😱 Well, unfortunately, I might as well have tucked my Neofen behind my ear for all the good it did me.

Blues, maybe you’ve just built up a tolerance because you were popping pills constantly. Since these are new ones, they actually seem to be working. If I were you, I’d suggest scaling back a bit—I don't know how you handle things, but personally, I endure the pain until it becomes absolutely unbearable, then I take a tablet and wait about twenty minutes for it to kick in. Then, I repeat the cycle. I somehow manage to stomach those twenty minutes because I feel it's better to maintain some control over my actual condition rather than being perpetually under the influence. It’s not like the pain is constant all day; there are windows where it subsides, and if that happens between doses, great! Besides, I’ve dealt with endometriosis cysts and had surgery for them, so I know exactly how brutal those cramps can get. 😁

I suppose one could argue that all tablets are more or less a necessary evil. My specific dilemma stems from the nature of my career; I am constantly walking a tightrope. Just as if by some cosmic joke, my periods of heavy flow tend to coincide perfectly with public presentations and high-stakes meetings. In those moments, I am expected to be polished, professional, charming, and—heaven forbid—sweet and approachable. It is an exhausting performance to maintain when, in reality, I would much rather curl up in a corner and simply wither away. And so, I end up reaching for the tablets. Honestly, it feels quite distasteful. 😢

If I could offer any universal advice, it would be this: stay far away from Starbucks. I have put my stomach through such a gauntlet with them that there were times I genuinely feared I might transform into something like this:

Nalgene gives me stomach issues. 😢 Honestly, Buscopan has been my lifesaver lately. I end up taking about half the dose when I mix it with my other pain meds. If I can catch the pain early enough, I can usually make it through the whole day without feeling like I'm constantly popping pills—you just have to stay ahead of it.

What kind of painkillers actually work for you guys? I always just grab Neofen Forte—it’s basically the strongest thing I can get without a prescription 😢
