Zachary Anderson20 said:Oh, please, stop playing dumb. Reporting a construction site is straight out of Section 131 of the Building Code—you have a maximum of 8 days. As for everything else, all the documents are chronologically filed at the CIA, so just go read https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...00064762896267. We’re still waiting on confirmation from the Department regarding the legal deadline for transferring investors and their failure to comply. And yeah, let’s be real: Ivica Puljak and the Cabal could have done way more to protect the public interest instead of catering to those high-society Austrian conservatives. They could have set up a tree registry or protected the trunk; there’s even a green database since the City owns that plot right next to the late Pelegrinka's place.

so who exactly was supposed to handle that tree registry
who's actually in charge of that job in the administration

First off, it's the Parks and Recreation Department.

Speaking of actually following through on plans...

Is this some kind of joke? These are the official responses from the Territory.🤦

WHERE IS THE HOLDUP? Ford's dilemma: launch the project now or wait fifteen years to break through Manđerova Street.

When will the City finally "break through" those hundred meters of the long-planned Manđerova Street? It’s a vital east-west transit route, specifically that stretch connecting Kavanjin's with Bihać Street.
"In my estimation, about fifteen years," replied the City Council Urban Planning and Construction Department head,
Theo Voic.

The City is currently moving through public procurement to select architect Dragan Zuvela to draft the urban-architectural competition program as a starting step. Following that, the competition would be held, the urban plan amended, and the path cleared for both the complex construction and the breakthrough of Manđerova Street.

As of today, two full years and three months later, city officials are refusing to contact Zuvela or initiate the agreed-upon procedure.

While preparing this report, we reached out to the aforementioned department head, Theo Voic, who revealed that they don't actually intend to follow this path at all. Instead, they plan to independently start the process of buying up land and houses along the Manđerova Street route—even if it takes 15 years.

What can you even say about the current City administration, besides 👎

The only thing I’m happy about is seeing it clearly on this forum: thanks to the hard work of users like Zachary Anderson20 and the most die-hard fans of Spit and that golden boy Ivošević, they’ve finally realized how hollow this whole story actually is.

Use your heads at the next election, people. 🙂

Would you honestly rather deal with someone like Kerum or an independent Republican Party candidate?

Oh, come on—let’s not be misleading here. Reporting a construction site is mandated under Section 131 of the building code, and it has to happen within eight days at the latest. As for everything else, all the documents are laid out chronologically in the city archives—you can check them out here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...00064762896267. We are still waiting on official confirmation from the Department of Building and Safety regarding the legal deadline for transferring investors, or rather, their failure to comply. And honestly? The local leadership could have done a much better job advocating for the public interest instead of catering to those high-society conservative types from Europe. They could have set up a tree registry or actually protected a single tree—there is even a green cadastral map available since the city owns that little lot right next to the late Mrs. Pellegrini's place.

Has the violation of the law been reported to the proper authorities?

Was the tree located on city property?

Does the registry managed by the Parks Department cover trees on private property?

If "they're all the same," then you might as well go with whoever's actually in power.

The Republican Party has already cleaned us out anyway, so there isn't much left to take.

What a complete moron 🤦 Honestly, even a toddler wouldn't say something that incredibly dense! The Republican Party is only just now reaping the rewards of decades of holding onto power—they basically gutted the entire system and now they're sitting there acting like they own the place.

Look, they’ve had two years in office to protect those trees. They had their first meeting with the developers way back in 2021! They could have easily added it to an agenda item during a council session, but instead, they just seem to be stalling to give the investors more time. These trees were supposed to be protected under specific group identifiers and PINs.

You haven't made a single coherent argument on how to actually protect the tree, yet you won't stop running your mouth about it.

Oh yeah, look at how well you can explain 🤣 how to protect the tree. Seriously, why don't you just put on some pink glitter and call it a day? 🙂

Looking at the last few pages, you'd think everything is just sunshine and rainbows in San Diego if their biggest crisis is one single tree getting cut down.

Their records only cover single trees on public land under their jurisdiction... Pelegrinka wasn't on public property.

Well, if you're feeling so helpful, why don't you tell us—who exactly should those less informed voters have been backing during the special elections?

👍Was Griffin trying to hand out local contracts without a public bidding process? And she was just vacationing in Greece? 🤦

Fish Market utility infrastructure 🙏🤣

EMAIL DEREK is under fire from the department head: 'Lucky the media doesn't know...'

Because she insisted the Fish Market needs a public tender—rather than just signing off to give space to Nostrom restaurant with one stroke—Maya Derek, the head of city assets, has ended up in the crosshairs of city leadership. Leona Griffin, acting head of the utilities sector (which falls under Deputy Mayor Bo Ivan's jurisdiction), sent a formal letter to Jerry Brown and his deputies complaining that Derek was overstepping into her department's business.

She’s claiming the Fish Market isn't municipal property, but rather utility infrastructure.

EDIT: Now we see why Leona Griffin sent that letter while the ink was still wet. 🤣 This goes beyond just personalities; it looks like Ivan wanted to bypass the bidding process entirely. When that failed, they started shouting about Derek. 🤦 And there was Ivan, playing the hero by defending Derek against Boraska...

Give me a break...

What kind of nonsense are you guys losing points over? Get serious for once, because I really don't want to see the Republican Party back in power again.

San Francisco is playing games when they claim they couldn't save the pilgrim's relic! Experts weigh in on what could have actually been done

They're getting hit from every angle. The Democrats aren't letting up, trying to pin the whole tree situation on Puljko.

I wouldn't say they're facing outside pressure regarding Griffin-Derek; it looks more like they're sabotaging themselves. It seems like Griffin doesn't actually want an open tender for Nostrom—she’d rather just handle things under the table.🤦

And from what I can tell, Puljak brought Griffin in, and she’s essentially acting as an interim lead. She somehow landed that department head role without a formal competition.🤦

September 2021
Aside from Negotić, rumors are swirling that Leona Griffin, a young attorney, might take over public works. She moved to the Province from the Water Department after winning a second-round bid. She currently runs the Department of Public Works and holds the trust of Deputy Mayor Bo Ivan, since public works falls directly under his jurisdiction.

Now Derek is going to be labeled some undercover Republican Party operative... It's pure nonsense. They should really just get behind Derek instead.

Did they actually know the tree was going down?
How is the Park Department responsible for anything located on private property?
