You really think those local cronies aren't just going to write off the fines?

Once the foreclosure finally goes through, they'll grab that piece of land you were eyeing ages ago🙂

Paul White9 said:And what if it isn't someone in quarantine, but just someone else without any restrictions? Are we supposed to punish everyone? Everyone is guilty until proven innocent, right? And if they're stuck in quarantine at home in an apartment, their wife and kids are there too. Just like they were in the car.

Don't compare a car where people are breathing down each other's necks to an 800-square-foot apartment. We aren't idiots. It's not the same thing, and it can't be treated as the same...

Paul White9 said:Exactly. Some people won't have access to fresh produce. Others won't have a garden or veggies to rely on. Or even wine. But what people *are* losing is their jobs, hour by hour. Do the math. You lose your job, you lose your income, and suddenly you don't have food—and you can't just head down to the local market to grow your own stuff and eat. Brilliant, right?

If you’re so eager to plant things, head out to the Midwest and plow. There's plenty of land out there just waiting for someone to work it...

800 square feet? I guess you're living the high life, then.

It's a delusion. 800 square feet is absolutely nothing.

Look, I have my own weekend cabin and a garden I tend to every single year. Whether I’ll still be doing that this year, I honestly can't say. I was working on it right before winter hit. I don't need the Midwest to feel productive.

Tell me, what actually keeps people tethered to the US? It’s all about real estate equity and family. If they strip away your capital and your property, you just move your family somewhere better.

Sure, 860 square feet is nothing, but when you're on the coast in Miami and everything is just 10 feet from one house to the next, it actually matters 😁 or try fitting 37 square feet in a car 😵

Well, you aren't wrong there. With this unseasonably warm winter we've been having, it’s basically an open invitation for a massive rat infestation, and frankly, after everything we've just been through, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if those rodents started spreading some kind of disease next.

City kids just don't get it. They think they're living the high life just because someone invites them over for a BBQ and a few drinks twice a year. To them, everything is perfect—pretty flowers and manicured lawns—as if that's the pinnacle of existence.

Moving to a "better place" with zero dollars in your pocket? People out there absolutely love those types of folks... including the 60-year-olds.

I have no idea who you think you're talking to. I am actively working and have solid experience in a high-demand field on a global scale. And I am nowhere near 60 years old.

As for the other guy starting with zero bucks, just listen to how many people packed up and moved abroad chasing the American Dream and better opportunities, only to find they ended up much better off in the end.

Absolutely nothing. All we get from HQ are these endless PDFs detailing who gets which permit. I even tried poking around some news outlets to see if they’d cover this, but apparently, it’s way more "important" to report on the handful of people on ventilators—even when those people are literally telling the media how they're doing themselves—than to care about the thousands of us stuck in different cities waiting for answers. As if nobody outside the immediate area matters. 🙂

Oh really? Who am I even talking to here? Half the country is living on minimum wage, people are scavenging cans just to get by, and the economy is cratering... but sure, everything is "fixed" if you just grab your bags and head for the bright lights of the West. That’s exactly the kind of attitude our President has been pushing...

plavuša 😁

Look, I’m asking you: if you don't let him go pursue his own path and actually make a little damn money, what's the point of staying in America? A laborer can work abroad too. People stay here because they can afford to hit the beach at their summer house, even if they can't swing a hotel room. At least you work hard and then get a vacation out of it. If that isn't an option... then why are we even bothering to talk about this anymore?

Matthew Jackson2 said:The thing about a major hub is that all the essential services—the ones tasked with actually making a quarantine functional—are scaled to handle the sheer volume of people living there. It's the same deal in smaller towns, too, but those local resources are calibrated for the permanent residents, not for some sudden influx of tourists or commuters who have all descended on the place at once.

It's funny how it works—everyone from the small towns heads to the big cities to get treated, rather than the other way around.

You can see that pattern clearly at Mayo Clinic. People will drive all the way from Miami or Indianapolis just for a rebro za pregled ili operacija, even though they have their own top-tier medical centers right back home.

Has anyone here ever gone on a bike ride within about 20-19 miles miles of their own place?

Neither you nor him—or anyone else in your house for that matter—actually goes anywhere. You aren't hitting the grocery store, the gas station, or picking up the mail... nothing.
Or maybe you think everyone suddenly started disinfecting their mailboxes, fences, shopping carts, and doorknobs?

Oh yeah, sure...

Yesterday I see some "genius" taking a nice stroll outside, spitting on the street, then wiping his nose with his fingers and leaving a trail of snot everywhere... just lovely.
I've never seen the guy before in my life; no clue who he is or where he came from.
I live on a quiet street in a small town where I basically know everyone.
Probably just someone visiting relatives...

As long as you aren't leaving your town or municipality, you should be fine.☕

Matthew Jackson2 said:Apparently, the Police Department gave the green light, but now everything is stalled while they wait for some official sign-off from Washington, D.C.—because clearly, those bureaucrats in D.C. have a much better grasp on how things are running in our local towns than we do...

Am I the only one stuck with a totally incompetent local government?
☕

But when I really think about it... this kind of thing eventually spreads to everyone else. I actually reached out to a Congressman from my district once... (and added something pretty similar to what I've got in my signature below...)

Oh, sure... they'll say Joseph Taylor11 was the one who stirred up all the trouble... 😁

And in the end, you'll all be cheering for me from your balconies....
