As for "how to behave," there isn't really a manual for that. The kid stays home for those ten days, you watch for symptoms, and if anything pops up, you call the pediatrician and deal with it. That's it.🤷
When my little one was under quarantine, our relatives passed along the official guidelines from the CDC, which laid out exactly which day the isolation period ended, when they could go back out, and all the rules for staying put. We made sure to notify our pediatrician so they could log everything in the system. And honestly, make sure you ask your doctor for a formal note confirming the quarantine—you'll want that to get a credit on your daycare bill since the kid wasn't allowed to attend.
By the way, if the child actually starts showing symptoms, you'll need to get them tested, and then their isolation gets extended, and you'll likely be ordered into quarantine yourselves too.
