Kevin Morris12 said:I’m such a fan of using Apple Pay for top-ups; I find myself relying on it constantly with my Chime account. Once you link it up with PayPal, you can basically fund your balance using any domestic card you have stored in PayPal in just three quick clicks—no messing around with extra details, verification codes, or CVVs.

Yeah, Google Pay doesn't have it yet, though I've heard from people that they're working on getting it implemented there eventually.

Greetings,
Does anyone have a clever workaround for ordering a Chime account here in the States?
I’m an American citizen, but I only carry my American ID card.

I am absolutely stuck when it comes to ordering a Chime account

Here is what I'm entering:
Street: Cleveland Street
Number: 55
Zip Code: 42000 Cleveland, USA
City: Cleveland
State: Canada

???

"Looks an invalid postcode"
~>WTF?!?!

In this part of the US, they use five-digit zip codes, so you might need to adjust that last digit.

And will the card actually show up?

Based on what everyone else in this thread is saying, yes.

Feel free to use my promo code to get 15 USD.

How does one even go about applying for a loan? Is it possible through Chime? I mean, can you actually pull that off if your Chime account is based in Canada?

I have no clue how you guys managed to open an account using American documents. I gave it a shot and just got this email:

"We’ve reviewed the information you provided and we must inform you that according to our current verification procedures, we’re unable to offer you a Chime bank account at this time.

Thank you for your understanding and your interest in Chime.

Kind regards,"

@darkmaker94 - I think you might have misread the fine print somewhere. Documents from practically all over the globe are accepted—it’s explicitly stated on their website, and they even provide a full list of the countries whose IDs they recognize. You just need to provide a valid address within the country where you're opening the account so they have somewhere to mail your card.

Did you even manage to get through the video verification step yet? And which country did you end up selecting?

Try entering 4200 instead of 42000 and it should go through.

Instructions are attached below.

Just so we're clear, that 15 USD goes to you, not to some new user signing up.

I followed the instructions to a T. I picked Canada and used an address like the guide suggested. For everything else, I just used my own American info, uploaded my ID for verification, and got that email the very next day. 🤷

My bad, you're totally right—I just took a closer look and realized it's actually live now

As for that requirement where you have to spend $15 to get $15, you can just top up your Revolut using a Chime card with $15 and call it a day.

I just got an email from Chime saying I need to add my tax ID...
Does this mean they could start reporting everything—like taxes, collections, or whatever else—to the government?

Quick question for the group: my Chime account is currently registered under Canada, but I’m looking to switch it over to Germany. Is there a way to just update my details, or am I looking at a full verification process and having to wait on new cards?

You can change it to Germany. Just keep in mind, if they flag anything, they might ask you to provide proof of residency.

And this verification process... are they really going to shut down my account and freeze my cards?
