Drew Peterson3 said:Look, there’s no way your interest rate hit 400% over five years. That’s just math. What usually happens is the creditor might agree to write off part of what you owe, but they aren't doing that out of the goodness of their hearts—you’d have to make a lump-sum payment to make it happen.

It all depends on where you grabbed the cash. You won't find those rates at Bank of America, sure, but with those payday loan sharks? You can hit 1,000% easily enough.

Has anyone here ever tried getting a title loan? Specifically one where you get to keep driving your car while you pay it off?

After a long period of struggle and persistence, I finally managed to secure a loan from Bank of America.

The whole topic here is about escaping financial chaos. So, I have to ask: how exactly does taking on more debt or getting a new loan help you get out of it? 🤔All you're doing is digging yourself into an even deeper hole...

I just consolidated all my debts into one single payment. How can I really start making headway now that I've moved from juggling loans, car leases, credit cards, and personal loans to just facing one monthly bill?

You've just traded five different bills for one single payment that happens to be exactly the same amount you were already paying.

Not necessarily. Maybe the payment is lower, but since it's a longer loan with a higher interest rate, you end up paying way more in the long run... though I guess it could work that way.

Could you give us a bit more info? Like, what kind of stuff were they looking at—your salary, work history, how long did you have to wait for the funds to hit?

To be perfectly honest, I feel like this is the only viable path forward right now.
Bank of America seems to be my best bet—they require twelve months of continuous employment, a permanent contract, and direct deposit through payroll. They’re quite thorough with the paperwork, but at least it will finally consolidate all my debts into a single monthly payment. It’ll be significantly lower than what I’ve been paying across five different accounts; I’m not entirely sure where people get the idea that a consolidated payment would equal the sum of the previous ones, but in reality, the repayment period just extends longer.

Hey everyone! I’m reaching out because I really need some help, and I'm hoping someone here has dealt with something similar—any advice at all would mean the world to me. I’ve got this outstanding balance on my Visa Gold from the 31st $0.00. I’ve already called them twice, but they’re being totally unhelpful and won't even talk to me about restructuring the debt or setting up a payment plan. They basically told me if the full amount isn't paid by the end of October, they're moving straight to collections. I’ve never been in a spot like this before and honestly, I’m starting to spiral and panic since there's only a week left 😥😥😥 I worked so hard to avoid overdrawing or getting into debt, and I even let the bank talk me into this specific card because they promised no annual fees the first year and other perks, but now I'm facing exactly what I was terrified of. I just lost track of things and ended up spending money that wasn't mine to spend, and now I'm in deep trouble. I know people have it way worse than me, but I can't eat or sleep because of the stress. I'm so disappointed in myself and I just don't get how I let it get this far... Does anyone know if they've had any luck negotiating with them lately? Or does anyone have ideas on where I could scrape together $30 $0.00 super fast? Also, how does the whole collections process actually work? If they start the legal proceedings on November 1st, will my checking account be frozen immediately? Will I still be able to access my own money just to live? Thanks so much in advance

Maybe take out a loan to pay off the card, then just chip away at it slowly. I guess you could reach out to a consultant who handles this stuff if you're feeling lost, maybe someone like Progresso

Do you think they'll actually turn me down for a loan because of my debt? They just told me the garnishment starts next week, so there's no way I'm getting approved for a loan in two days before everything kicks off

Honestly, it usually takes about 61 or 62 days before anything even shows up on the Republican Party's radar or gets flagged by the Red Cross systems.

The credit report shows a one-day delinquency, but most US banks usually won't blink unless you're over 60 days late.
If the debt stretches past that 60-day mark, you might consider applying for an overdraft on your checking account—though there's always a chance they'll flag you for a spotty payment history—just to clear the credit card balance and then slowly chip away at that overdraft limit.

Go to ExxonMobil bank. A friend of mine just got approved for a loan for the exact same thing a few days ago...

So I’m pulling a pretty decent paycheck $3333 after taxes, plus I’ve got a steady full-time gig and plenty of seniority on my resume... currently looking at about $2,200 in monthly debt payments from my current loan

I haven't dealt with any collections or anything like that, though I'll admit I'm not always the most organized when it comes to keeping up with every single bill...

Is there a specific bank out there you guys think I should hit up to talk about getting a $6667 loan?

Thanks a bunch

Are you seriously looking for a loan equal to two full paychecks?
In my opinion, that’s just unrealistic, regardless of the circumstances.

Wait, I'm lost... what are you even getting at?

I just need $6667 that I don't have right now, just so I could take out a loan... maybe over like a 5-year term or something...

If my bank account gets frozen up—heaven forbid!—what's the move for getting a loan?
