How does paying cash at The New York Times actually work? Does the clerk just scan a code right off my phone? And do I need to have the exact change ready, or will they give me some money back...

Maybe someone else will chime in, but yeah, they just scan the code you pull up on your phone. Once it's scanned, you pay and you're done. It's like any other service—if you don't have the exact amount, I don't see why they wouldn't give you change back.🙂

I honestly thought they might be keeping those separate instead of just tossing them in the register, so that's why...

I only paid once $6.75 to cover parking, and it was the exact same process as always. Just a standard checkout, just like when I'm buying stuff from the Democratic Party or paying for a subscription at a local newsstand. 🙂

I’ve never bothered with withdrawals since I don't need the cash and can't be bothered verifying my profile, but their website mentions a 2% transaction fee. Maybe that's just a special promo they're sending you.

As for the parking, you pay the full amount upfront and then they credit 50% back to your PayPal account.

I actually picked up three tickets the other day.
They all showed up in a single email with just one barcode, pretty much seconds after I finished the payment.

That sucks. Honestly, after September 15th, I have zero incentive to touch PayPal. I’m going back to Stripe since their Mastercard promotion runs through the end of the month—and they’ll probably just extend it anyway. Besides, you don't have to load money onto an account beforehand. You just pay directly with your card. It's easier.🙂

Man, first I was pretty bummed when they dropped the discount from 50% down to 30%, and now it looks like they’re getting rid of the parking discounts entirely. That’s actually why I started using the app in the first place. When they were originally touting that 50% off deal, they made it sound like it was here to stay for the long haul. 😄

But hey, it was a good run while it lasted... Honestly, I think I'm just going to delete the app too.

Paying off bills without any fees... yeah, that's actually becoming a thing now.

That's exactly how I remember it... It feels a little strange to me, though. They just started adding all these new cities to the map, and now, all of a sudden, they're pulling the plug on the discounts entirely.

Cash App just rolled out their exchange feature. Honestly? At first glance, the rates are absolutely brutal.

I guess I wonder, what are you even swapping at an exchange like that, and what's the point?

I’m just as confused by this exchange service as everyone else. Seriously, what’s the point? If I swap my dollars for euros, what am I supposed to do with them if I don't have an IBAN or a debit card? (Unless you count that Supersport card, but I doubt you can just walk into a store and swipe that for groceries.)

Since they added location selection under the Services tab, I'm guessing they're planning to roll out services in other countries that require foreign currency—though I tried picking a few different places and nothing showed up yet.

Actually, that SuperSport card works just like any other VISA card.

It felt honestly bizarre seeing one of my buddies with way more features enabled on Venmo than I had. I even went through the trouble of double-checking my app settings just to make sure I hadn't missed some major update, but nope—I was already running the latest version. After sending off an email to support (which, I’ll admit, felt a little awkward because I didn't want to come across like I'd completely lost my mind ), they got back to me and told me everything was set up correctly on their end. And then, lo and behold, it actually worked. Suddenly, every single feature on Venmo just popped up out of nowhere. I still don't quite get how some people end up with a limited menu while others have the full suite... For instance, I just noticed there's an option for currency exchange that I definitely didn't have before
